Description
図1~3の電極10(蓄電素子用電極)は、電極基材11、電極合材層12及び絶縁性層13を備える(特に、図3参照)。電極基材11は、本体部14とタブ部15とを有する(特に、図1参照)。また、電極合材層12は、本体部14の表裏面上に、タブ部15側の縁部分(電極合材層非形成部)を残して積層され、絶縁性層13は、本体部14の電極合材層非形成部及びタブ部15の基端部分上に積層されている。
当該電極10の製造方法は特に限定されないが、例えば以下の方法により行うことができる。すなわち、当該蓄電素子用電極の製造方法は、本体部及び1又は複数の板状のタブ部を有する導電性の電極基材における上記タブ部の基端部分の表面及び側面を被覆する絶縁性層を形成することを備える。
(工程1)シート状の電極基材に電極合材層を積層する。
(工程2)上記電極合材層が積層された電極基材を、本体部及び1又は複数の板状のタブ部を有する形状に切断する。
(工程3)切断後、本体部における電極合材層非形成部と、タブ部における基端部分とに絶縁性層を積層する。
図4に、本発明に係る蓄電素子の一実施形態である矩形状の非水電解質二次電池20の概略図を示す。非水電解質二次電池20は、図5に示す電極体21(図4においては図示しない)がケース22に収納されている。
本発明は上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、上記態様の他、種々の変更、改良を施した態様で実施することができる。例えば、図1の電極10においては、電極基材の本体部の表面に直接電極合材層を積層した構造としたが、電極基材と電極合材層との間に中間層を配設してもよい。このような中間層は、例えば樹脂バインダー及び導電性粒子を含有する組成物により形成することができる。なお、当該電極がこのような中間層を有する場合、「本体部の表面から電極合材層の表面までの平均高さ」は、中間層と電極合材層とからなる2層構造体の平均厚さとなる。

Claims (6)
- 本体部及び1又は複数の板状のタブ部を有する導電性の電極基材と、
上記タブ部の基端部分の表面及び側面を被覆する絶縁性層と、
上記本体部の表面に積層される電極合材層と
を備え、
上記タブ部の側面を被覆する上記絶縁性層の平均厚さが、上記タブ部の表面を被覆する上記絶縁性層の平均厚さよりも大きく、
上記タブ部の表面を被覆する上記絶縁性層の平均厚さが、上記本体部の表面から上記電極合材層の表面までの平均高さ以下である蓄電素子用電極。 - 上記絶縁性層が、絶縁性粒子及びバインダーを含む請求項1の蓄電素子用電極。
- 正極である請求項1又は請求項2の蓄電素子用電極。
- 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項の蓄電素子用電極を備える蓄電素子。
- 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項の蓄電素子用電極の製造方法であって、
本体部及び1又は複数の板状のタブ部を有する導電性の電極基材における上記タブ部の基端部分の表面及び側面を被覆する絶縁性層を形成することを備える蓄電素子用電極の製造方法。 - 上記絶縁性層の形成を乾式塗工により行う請求項5の蓄電素子用電極の製造方法。
