Description
タンクホルダユニットには、タンクホルダH1500と供給路プレートH1600とを、開口部を有する面H1602が互いに向き合う様に配して接合することにより供給路H1601が形成されている。この供給路H1601を有する部材が液体供給部材である。供給路H1601には、H1601xのように、開口部を有する面H1602に対して交差する方向に液体が流れる供給路と、H1601yのように、面H1602に対して平行な方向にインクが流れる供給路とがある(図9)。
本発明の第一の実施形態について図1〜図3を参照して詳細に説明する。
次に、本発明の第二の実施形態について図5を用いて説明する。図5(a)は当接時、(b)は溶着後の図を示す。レーザー溶着の方法、液体供給部材に用いられる材料については、第一の実施形態と同様であるので説明を省略する。
次に、本発明の第三の実施形態について図6を用いて説明する。図6(a)は当接時、(b)は溶着後の図を示す。レーザー溶着の方法、液体供給部材に用いられる材料については、第一の実施形態及び第二の実施形態と同様であるので説明を省略する。

Claims (8)
- 液体を吐出する吐出口へ液体を供給する供給路を有する液体供給部材の製造方法であって、
第一の開口部が設けられた第一の面を有し、レーザー光に対して透過性を有する透過性部材と、第二の開口部が設けられた第二の面を有し、レーザー光に対して吸収性を有する吸収性部材と、を用意する用意工程と、
互いに向き合う様に配された前記第一の面と前記第二の面とに対して交差する方向に関して前記第一の開口部と前記第二の開口部とが重なる様にして、前記透過性部材と前記吸収性部材とを当接する当接工程と、
前記透過性部材を介して前記当接する部位に向けてレーザー光を照射して、前記透過性部材と前記吸収性部材とを溶着することにより、前記第一の開口部と前記第二の開口部とを含み前記方向に液体が流れる第一の供給路を形成し、前記第一の開口部及び前記第二の開口部の少なくともいずれか一方を含み前記第一の面と前記第二の面とに沿う方向に液体が流れる第三の供給路を形成する溶着工程と、
を有し、
前記当接工程の後で前記溶着工程の前においては、前記部位と前記第一の供給路との間であって前記第一の面と前記第二の面との間に空間が形成されており、前記部位と前記第三の供給路とが空間を介さずに接している、または前記部位と前記第三の供給路との間であって前記第一の面と前記第二の面との間に空間が形成されている場合に、該空間における前記部位と前記第三の供給路との距離が、前記部位と前記第一の供給路との間であって前記第一の面と前記第二の面との間の空間における前記部位と前記第一の供給路との距離より短いことを特徴とする液体供給部材の製造方法。 - 前記当接工程において、前記第一の面と前記第二の面とのいずれか一方の面の、開口部が設けられていない部分と、他方の面に設けられた第三の開口部と、が、前記方向に関して重なる様にして、前記透過性部材と前記吸収性部材とを当接し、
前記溶着工程において、前記透過性部材を介して前記当接する部位に向けてレーザー光を照射して、前記透過性部材と前記吸収性部材とを溶着することにより、前記第一の供給路に連通し前記第三の開口部を含み前記方向に液体が流れる第二の供給路を形成し、
前記当接工程の後で前記溶着工程の前においては、前記部位と前記第二の供給路との間であって前記第一の面と前記第二の面との間に空間が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体供給部材の製造方法。 - 前記溶着工程では、前記供給路に対応するように配置された複数の光源から、前記部位に向けてレーザー光を一括して照射することを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の液体供給部材の製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載の液体供給部材の製造方法を用いて製造され、
前記透過性部材の、前記第一の面の裏側の面に、前記第一の開口部と連通する第四の開口部が設けられており、前記第一の開口部から前記第四の開口部に向かって液体が流れる液体供給部材であって、
前記透過性部材は、前記第一の供給路の、前記液体が流れる方向に直交する面における断面積が、前記第一の開口部から前記第四の開口部に向かう方向に大きくなるテーパー形状を有することを特徴とする液体供給部材。 - 請求項2に記載の液体供給部材の製造方法を用いて製造され、
前記透過性部材の、前記第一の面の裏側の面に、前記第三の開口部と連通する第五の開口部が設けられており、前記第三の開口部から前記第五の開口部に向かって液体が流れる液体供給部材であって、
前記透過性部材は、前記第二の供給路の、前記液体が流れる方向に直交する面における断面積が、前記第三の開口部から前記第五の開口部に向かう方向に大きくなるテーパー形状を有することを特徴とする液体供給部材。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の液体供給部材の製造方法を用いて製造された液体供給部材であって、
前記溶着工程において溶融し固化した部分が、前記第三の供給路の内方に向かって突出していることを特徴とする液体供給部材。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の液体供給部材の製造方法を用いて製造された液体供給部材であって、
前記供給路を介して前記吐出口と該吐出口に供給する液体を収容する液体収容部とが連通しており、前記液体収容部を保持するホルダを有し、該ホルダの一部が前記吸収性部材を構成していることを特徴とする液体供給部材。 - 液体を吐出する吐出口と、該吐出口へ液体を供給する供給路と、を有する液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法であって、
第一の開口部が設けられた第一の面を有し、レーザー光に対して透過性を有する透過性部材と、第二の開口部が設けられた第二の面を有し、レーザー光に対して吸収性を有する吸収性部材と、を用意する用意工程と、
互いに向き合う様に配された前記第一の面と前記第二の面とに対して交差する方向に関して前記第一の開口部と前記第二の開口部とが重なる様にして、前記透過性部材と前記吸収性部材とを当接する当接工程と、
前記透過性部材を介して前記当接する部位に向けてレーザー光を照射して、前記透過性部材と前記吸収性部材とを溶着することにより、前記第一の開口部と前記第二の開口部とを含み前記方向に液体が流れる第一の供給路を形成し、前記第一の開口部及び前記第二の開口部の少なくともいずれか一方を含み前記第一の面と前記第二の面とに沿う方向に液体が流れる第三の供給路を形成する溶着工程と、
を有し、
前記当接工程の後で前記溶着工程の前においては、前記部位と前記第一の供給路との間であって前記第一の面と前記第二の面との間に空間が形成されており、前記部位と前記第三の供給路とが空間を介さずに接している、または前記部位と前記第三の供給路との間であって前記第一の面と前記第二の面との間に空間が形成されている場合に、該空間における前記部位と前記第三の供給路との距離が、前記部位と前記第一の供給路との間であって前記第一の面と前記第二の面との間の空間における前記部位と前記第一の供給路との距離より短いことを特徴とする液体吐出ヘッドの製造方法。
