優先権が米国仮特許出願第60/904,541号、及び第60/926,504号に対して主張されており、それぞれの出願は本発明者によって2007年3月2日、及び2007年4月27日にそれぞれ出願されており、かつそれぞれは参照により援用されている。同じ仮特許出願に対して優先権を主張して本出願と同日付で本発明者によって提出されており、「圧縮流体の貯蔵、輸送及び取扱い(Storing,Transporting and Handling Compressed Fluids)」と題された米国特許出願は、本明細書に関連しておりかつ参照により援用されている。
図1を参照すると、貨物の積込は単純な流入プロセスとして管理されて、格納タンクは、正差圧によって原則的に空の貨物コンテナに注入される冷却加圧貨物の供給源10から充填される。コンプレッサ12は供給源から利用可能な圧力に応じて流路において必要であっても必要でなくてもよい。本発明は0℃をかなり下回る貯蔵条件を目的としているため、熱交換器14a及び14bによって提供される少なくとも1つの冷却段階は、供給圧力が貯蔵圧力と比較して非常に高い場合であっても必要である可能性が非常に高い。あらゆるの過剰圧力が利用可能で隔離弁組立体16bを通ってパイプ20を通過してコンテナ18に入る場合、貨物流体は自動冷却を利用するためにジュール・トムソン降下弁16aを通過する。そのような流入方法によって、格納容器に注入される貨物の圧力、温度及び状態は、格納容器内の圧力を室温近くから目標最終状態へと増加するのにともない実質的に変化することができる。コンテナ18及びパイプ20はそのような積込工程の間に経る圧力及び温度条件の範囲に耐えるための適切な収容量及び能力を提供するように単純に設計されるべきである。コンテナ18は従来の厚い壁のシリンダ、又はその説明が参照によって援用されており、「圧縮流体の貯蔵、輸送及び取扱い(Storing Transporting and Handling Compressed Fluids)」の表題の上述された関連する発明において説明されるタンク又は容器である。
貯蔵タンクの上側からの気相貨物流体と貯蔵タンクの底側からの液体の両方の排出を同時に開始することが可能な一方で、液体が最初に排出される方法を以下に示す。貯蔵庫にわずかな液体があるか又は非常に多くの貨物流体が液相である状況において、液体を始めに排出することは理にかなっている。それ故、底のパイプを通過するフローを制御する弁は、最も高密度な流体(例えば液体)が最初に排出可能なように開放され、その際これらの最も高密度な流体を格納容器の外(及び船外)へ出すために貯蔵圧力を使用する。気相が存在すると、ガスキャップは拡大して内部温度は低下し、貨物の気体部分の制御された排出の前に、いくらかの追加のガスを液体に凝結して落下、流出させることができる。タンクの底において高密度流体の排出を所望の速度に維持する必要がある場合、加圧された低密度置換ガスは貨物の除荷を続ける必要な場合には、上側のパイプを介して注入可能である。
Claims (34)
- 圧縮流体を容器に積込むための方法であって、
上部及び下部を有する第1容器にこの第1容器内の条件下で気体となる置換流体を注入するステップと、
第1容器内が所望の圧力に到達するまで置換流体を第1容器の下部から注入するステップと、
前記の所望の圧力に到達した後、圧縮流体を第1容器の下部に注入しながら、置換流体を第1容器の上部から流し出すステップと、
第1容器の上部から流れ出る置換流体の流速を調節して、第1容器内の圧力を前記の所望の圧力を含む所望の範囲内に維持するステップと、
置換流体を第1容器の上部から流し出しながら、所望の量の圧縮流体が第1容器に入るまで圧縮流体を第1容器の下部に注入するステップとを含む方法。 - 圧縮流体を第1容器に注入する前に圧縮流体を所望の温度に維持するステップを含む請求項1の方法。
- 第1容器に注入される前に圧縮流体がジュール・トムソン弁を通過して流れる請求項2の方法。

- 第1容器が船内の貨物倉に収容されており、第1容器内の前記の所望の圧力が第1容器輸送のための最終目標貯蔵圧力であって、
所望の量の圧縮天然ガスで第1容器を満たすステップと、
それぞれが上部を有する1つ又は複数の追加の容器を貨物倉に設け、この追加の容器を第1容器と流れが並列となる構成で、第1容器の上部から回収された置換ガスが少なくとも1つの追加の容器の上部に向かうように配置するステップと、
所望の量の圧縮天然ガスが1つ又は複数の追加の容器に積込まれるまで、第1容器を充填するために使用されるのと同様の方法を用いて、圧縮天然ガスをその少なくとも1つの追加の容器に積込むステップとを含む請求項14の方法。 - 貨物倉を断熱するステップと、
第1容器及び1つ又は複数の追加の容器から熱を除去するために、断熱貨物倉の内部であって第1容器及び1つ又は複数の追加の容器の外部に冷却流体を供給するステップとを含む請求項24の方法。 - 圧縮天然ガス(CNG)を冷却してから、第2セットの所望の圧力・温度条件で第1容器の下部にCNGを注入し、冷却液体天然ガスをCNGの流路内に注入するステップと、
それぞれが上部及び下部を有する1つまたは複数の追加の容器を設け、この追加の容器を第1容器と流れが並列となる構成で、第1容器の上部から回収された置換ガスが少なくともひとつの追加の容器の上部に向かうように配置するステップと、
CNGの第1容器への注入を停止するステップと、
第1容器の上部からの置換ガスの回収を停止するステップと、
第1容器へのCNGの注入を停止した後に、CNGを追加の容器の下部に注入するステップと、
第1容器へのCNGの注入を停止した後に、液化天然ガスストリームを第1容器の下部から回収するステップと、
CNGを追加の容器の下部へ注入する前に、液化天然ガスストリームをCNGへ注入するステップとを含む請求項14の方法。 - 圧縮流体を容器内に積込むための方法であって、
圧縮流体の圧力が上部及び下部を有する容器における圧力よりも高い条件下で、最初に圧縮流体ストリームを容器に注入するステップと、ここで圧縮流体ストリームが下部に注入され、圧縮流体ストリームが最初に膨張することによって置換ガスを形成し、容器に入る圧縮流体ストリームの温度が置換ガスの温度よりも低く、
容器内で所望の圧力に到達するまで圧縮流体ストリームを容器に注入し続けるステップと、
容器内が前記の所望の圧力に到達した後、置換ガスを容器の上部から外に排出するステップと、
容器内が前記の所望の圧力に到達した後、圧縮流体の圧力が容器内の圧力よりも高くない状況下で、圧縮流体ストリームを容器に注入するステップと、
圧縮流体ストリームを容器の下部に注入し続けながら、置換ガスを容器の上部から流し出し続けるステップと、
容器の上部から流れ出る置換ガスの流速を調節して、容器内の圧力を前記の所望の圧力を含む所望の範囲内に維持するステップとを含む方法。 - 容器に注入する前の時点で所望の温度を含む所望の範囲内に圧縮流体ストリームの温度を管理するステップを含む請求項27の方法。
- 容器が丸角のパネルによって連結される4つの側壁を持つ長方形断面を有しており、容器が所望の圧力に加圧されたときに側壁が側壁の厚みよりも大きい距離だけ外向きに拡張するのに適している請求項28の方法。
- 天然ガスを船で輸送するための方法であって、
圧縮天然ガス(CNG)の供給源の近くに船を停泊させるステップと、
船上の複数の貨物倉に配置されておりそれぞれが上部と下部を有する第1容器及び第2容器を含む複数の容器まで、CNGの供給源からの流路を設けるステップと、
第1容器内部の条件下で気体となるような置換流体を第1容器に注入するステップと、
第1容器において所望の圧力に到達するまで置換流体を第1容器の下部に注入するステップと、
所望の圧力に到達した後、CNGを第1容器の下部に注入しながら置換流体を第1容器の上部から回収するステップと、
第1容器の上部から回収される置換流体の流速を調節して、第1容器内の圧力を前記の所望の圧力を含む所望の範囲内に維持するステップと、
置換流体を第1容器の上部から回収しながら、所望の量のCNGが第1容器内に入るまでCNGを第1容器の下部に注入するステップと、
CNGを第1容器に注入する前に、CNGの所望の温度を維持するステップと、
第1容器から回収されたガスを第2容器の上部に注入するステップと、
CNGを下部に注入し続けながら、上部から回収されるガスの流速を調節することによって、第1容器内の前記の所望の圧力を含む所望の範囲内に第1容器内の圧力を維持するステップと、
所望の量のCNGを第1容器に積込み、その後第1容器を閉じるステップと、
第1容器に積込むため及び閉じるために使用されるのと同様の方法を用いて、所望の量のCNGを第2容器と複数の容器における残りの各容器に積込むステップと、
船を移動させることによってCNGを輸送するステップと、
受入設備の側に船を停泊させるステップと、
CNGを受入設備へ排出するために船上の複数の容器と受入設備との間に各容器の下部につながる流路を設け、複数の容器の圧力を受入設備の圧力よりも高くするステップと、
複数の容器に何ら流体を加えることなく複数の容器から受入設備への流れを発生させ、流路において測定される流速が所望の流速以下となるようなレベルまで複数の容器の圧力を低下させるステップとを含む方法。 - CNGを低密度ストリームと高密度ストリームに分離するために分離器が流路に備えられており、流路において測定される流速が所望の流速以下となるレベルに複数の容器の圧力が降下した後に、
分離器からの低密度ストリームをコンプレッサに注入するステップと、
置換流体を形成するために低密度流体を圧縮するステップと、
CNGを複数の容器におけるそれぞれの容器の下部から外に押し出すために、置換流体を複数の容器におけるそれぞれの容器の上部から注入するステップと、
高密度ストリームを受入設備へ流すステップとを含む請求項30の方法。 - CNGを低密度ストリームと高密度ストリームに分離するために分離器が流路に備えられており、流路における実際の流速が所望の流速以下となるレベルに複数の容器の圧力が降下した後に、
分離器からの低密度ストリームを第1容器に注入するステップと、
所望の量の低密度ストリームを第1容器に閉じ込めるステップと、
置換流体を形成するために低密度流体を加熱するステップと、
圧縮流体を複数の容器におけるそれぞれの容器の下部から押し出すために、置換流体を複数の容器におけるそれぞれの容器の上部に注入するステップと、
高密度ストリームを受入設備へ流すステップとを含む請求項30の方法。 - 第1容器と本質的に同一である第2容器を含み、第2容器が第1容器の流れの構成と並列な流れの構成で配置されており、
第1容器が置換流体を形成している間、及び置換流体が複数の容器のそれぞれの容器の上部に注入されている間、分離器からの低密度ストリームを第2容器に注入するステップを含む請求項32の方法。 - 分離器からの低密度ストリームを第1容器に注入しながら、第2容器に低密度ストリームを閉じ込め、低密度流体を加熱して置換流体を形成するステップと、
複数の容器におけるそれぞれの容器の下部からCNGを押し出すために第1容器及び第2容器が交互に操作されるように、置換流体が第1容器から枯渇した後、置換流体を複数の容器における容器の上部から注入するステップとを含む請求項33の方法。
