Description
本発明の塗布フィルムにおいて、ベースフィルムとしては、軽量、実質的に透明、安価、使い捨ておよびリサイクル可能、ならびに防曇材として種々の応用が可能な観点から、ポリマーフィルムが好ましい。さらに、塗布ポリマーフィルムは熱接着により種々の基材に積層(接着)可能である。
本発明の防曇処理およびその方法は、上記のポリマーフィルムから成るベースフィルムだけでなく、他の基材に対しても使用することができる。他の基材としては、金属、ガラス、ポリマー性製造物が挙げられる。さらに、本発明の防曇層を有するポリマーフィルムを他の基材表面に適応してもよく、その表面に防曇効果を付与することができる。フィルムは熱接着または機械的な締付けによって他の基材表面に接着することができる。
防曇層を形成するための塗布方法としては、フィルム製造プロセス中で且つ熱固定前に塗布を行うインラインコーティング法が好ましい。代表的には、ベースポリマーフィルムにコロナ処理を施した後で且つフィルムの延伸工程前に塗布する方法、2軸延伸する場合の延伸工程中に行う方法(英国特許第1,411,564号公報に記載)、または延伸後に行う方法(米国特許第3,322,553号公報に記載)が挙げられる。
防曇処理を施したフィルムを、防曇層を下面にして測定器に装着し、高湿気含有温風を3〜6インチの距離から防曇層に2秒間吹きつける。評価は、完全に曇つた場合を1、全く曇らなかった場合を5としてランク付けした。
フィルム表面の表面張力は、Victor Contact Angle System(AST社製、Billerica、マサチューセッツ州)を使用して測定した。本発明において、表面張力は通常60dyne(ダイン)/cmより大きく、好ましくは65dyne(ダイン)/cmより大きく、より好ましくは69dyne(ダイン)/cmより大きく、特に好ましくは72dyne(ダイン)/cmより大きい。
フィルムの透明性の評価はヘーズによって評価した。ヘーズはASTM Method D1003−61、Procedure A「ヘーズ及び透明性プラスチックの光透過性」に従い、BYK Gardner社製Haze Gard Plus装置により測定した。
AJ−20A:バインダー用共重合ポリエステル、Palmetto Chemicals、Greenville社製(サウスカロライナ州)
AJ−30:バインダー用共重合ポリエステル、Palmetto Chem1cals、Greenville社製(サウスカロライナ州)
Rhodacal LDS−10:界面活性剤、ドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム(ローヌ・プーラン(Rhone Poulenc)社製)
Fluorad FC−170C:フッ化脂肪族オキシエチレン(3M社製)
Nalco 1060:コロイダルシリカ、ナルコ化学社製(Nalco Chemical Company)
Cymel 303:メラミン架橋剤
Airvol 107 PVOH:ポリビニルアルコール
M:、5−スルホイソフタル酸ナトリウム塩10モル%、イソフタル酸90モル%およびエチレングリコール100モル%から製造した共重合ポリエステル
Sipon UB:ラウリルスルホン酸ナトリウム
Aerosol OTNV:スルホ琥珀酸塩配合物(Cytec Industries社製)
表2に示す組成から成る塗布液を調製し、二軸延伸における延伸中に、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム上にインラインコーティングを施した。防曇評価および表面張力を表2に示す。
塗布液にCymel 303、AJ−30、LDS−10、Nalco 1060、0.1%を超えるFC−170Cを表3〜5に示す組成で配合し実施例1と同様の方法で防曇処理フィルムを製造した。防曇評価および表面張力を表3〜5に示す。実施例4〜22において、エージングの効果を見るために、製造時のフィルムと22日後のフィルムの防曇効果を測定した。
AJ−30、LDS−10、Nalco 1060の量を表6及び7に示す組成で配合し実施例1と同様の方法で防曇処理フィルムを製造した。防曇評価および表面張力を表6及び7に示す。各実施例および参考例において、エージングの効果を見るために、製造時のフィルムと22日後のフィルムの防曇効果を測定した。
AJ−30、AJ−20、LDS−10、FC−170C、Nalco 1060を表8〜10に示す組成で配合し実施例1と同様の方法で防曇処理フィルムを製造した。防曇評価、表面張力、ヘーズおよび透過度を表8〜10に示す。
AJ−30、M、LDS−10、FC−170C、Cymel 303、Nalco 1060を表11〜13に示す組成で配合し実施例1と同様の方法で防曇処理フィルムを製造した。防曇評価、表面張力、ヘーズおよび透過度を表11〜13に示す。
AJ−20A、M、LDS−10、FC−170C、Aerosol OTNV、Sipon UB、Nalco 1060を表14及び15に示す組成で配合し実施例1と同様の方法で防暑処理フィルムを製造した。防曇評価、表面張力、ヘーズおよび透過度を表14及び15に示す。
AJ−20A、FC−170C、Aerosol OTNV、Nalco 1060を表16に示す組成で配合し実施例1と同様の方法で防曇処理フィルムを製造した。防曇評価、表面張力、ヘーズおよび透過度を表16に示す。

Claims (25)
- 実質的に縞の無い防曇処理フィルムであって、当該防曇処理フィルムは基材ポリマーフィルムと当該ポリマーフィルムの上に被覆されている防曇層から成り、当該防曇層は共重合ポリエステルから成るバインダーと界面活性剤と滑剤とから成り、界面活性剤がフッ素系界面活性剤とフッ素系界面活性剤以外の他の界面活性剤とから成り、当該防曇層は塗布液を塗布することにより形成され、当該塗布液は、0.5重量%未満のフッ素系界面活性剤、0.4〜2.0重量%のフッ素系界面活性剤以外の他の界面活性剤、1〜30重量%の上記バインダー及び0.3〜1重量%の滑剤を含有し、上記防曇処理フィルムのヘーズが1.62%以下であり、防曇層の乾燥厚みが0.02〜0.1μmであることを特徴とする防曇処理フィルム。
- フッ素系界面活性剤が炭素鎖4〜8のフッ素化脂肪族オキシエチレンとポリエチレングリコールを含有する請求項1に記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- バインダーが、ケミカルアブストラクト(Chemical Abstract)名で、1,3−ベンゼンジカルボン酸−5−スルホ−1,3−ジメチルエステルナトリウム塩、ジメチル1,4−ベンゼンジカルボキシレート、1,2−エタンジオール及び2,2−オキシビスエタノール(C10H 9 O7S.C10H10O4.C4H10O3.C2H6O2.Na)xで表記される水溶性共重合ポリエステルを含有する請求項1又は2に記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- バインダーが、イソフタル酸成分50〜98モル%、スルホネート基をジカルボン酸骨格に有するスルホモノマー成分2〜20モル%、他の脂肪族ジカルボン酸成分0〜48モル%及び炭素数2〜11の共重合可能なグリコール成分から成る水溶性共重合ポリエステルを含有する請求項1〜3の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 基材ポリマーフィルムがポリエステルから成る請求項1〜4の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 塗布液中のバインダーの含有量が1〜6重量%である請求項1〜5の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- バインダーがスルホモノマーを含有する請求項1〜6の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- スルホモノマーが5−スルホイソフタル酸である請求項7に記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 塗布液中のフッ素系界面活性剤の含有量が0.02以上0.5重量%未満である請求項1〜8の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 塗布液中の界面活性剤の含有量が0.2〜2.0重量%である請求項1〜9の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 界面活性剤がアニオン系界面活性剤を含有する請求項1〜10の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 界面活性剤がドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウムを含有する請求項1〜11の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 界面活性剤がラウリル硫酸ナトリウムを含有する請求項1〜12の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 界面活性剤がスルホ琥珀酸塩を含有する請求項1〜13の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 界面活性剤が2−エチルヘキシル硫酸ナトリウムを含有する請求項1〜14の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 滑剤が少なくとも1種のシリカから成る請求項1〜15の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 滑剤がコロイダルシリカ(colloidal SiO2)から成る請求項16に記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 防曇層を形成するための塗布液が0.01〜30重量%の固形物含有量を有する請求項1〜17の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 防曇層の乾燥厚みが0.03〜0.05μmである請求項1〜18の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 表面張力が60dyne(ダイン)/cmより大きい請求項1〜19の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 表面張力が65dyne(ダイン)/cmより大きい請求項1〜19の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 表面張力が69dyne(ダイン)/cmより大きい請求項1〜19の何れかに記載の防曇処理フィルム。
- 基材の表面に、水溶性共重合ポリエステルから成るバインダーとフッ素系界面活性剤とフッ素系界面活性剤以外の他の界面活性剤と滑剤とから成る厚さ0.02〜0.1μmの被覆を設けることを特徴とする基材表面の曇りを制御する方法。
- 基材がポリマーフィルムである請求項23に記載の方法。
- 被覆がインラインコーティングによって形成される請求項23又は24に記載の方法。
