熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物は、スプレーコーティング法により活性剤をコーティングすることによっても製造することができる。この方法は、ポリ酢酸ビニルのようなポリマーにより少なくとも部分的に被包されている活性剤を提供する。

活性剤は低〜中分子量のポリマーと押し出すこともでき、熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物を得る。ポリマーは本明細書に記載したもののいずれであってもよい。ポリマーの分子量は、約300,000未満、具体的には約9,000〜約200,000であることができ、ポリ酢酸ビニルであることができる。
前記熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物は、次に高分子量又は高張力ポリマー中に被包することができる。熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物は本明細書で前に記載したいずれの方法で製造されていてもよい。異なった活性剤の組み合わせを含む熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物の組み合わせ、及び異なる方法により製造された組成物の組み合わせを混合することができる。

本ガムベースは、エラストマー成分を軟化させる助けとなるエラストマー溶剤を含有することができる。こうしたエラストマー溶剤には、当該技術分野で既知のエラストマー溶剤、例えば、アルファ−ピネン又はベータ−ピネンのポリマーのようなテルピネン樹脂、水素化及び二量体化及び重合化ロジンのようなロジンのメチル、グリセロール及びペンタエリトリトールエステル及び変性ロジン及びガム、及びそれらの混合物が含まれる。本明細書での使用に適したエラストマー溶剤の例には、部分水素化木材及びガムロジンのペンタエリトリトールエステル、木材及びガムロジンのペンタエリトリトールエステル、木材ロジンのグリセロールエステル、部分二量体化木材及びガムロジンのグリセロールエステル、重合化木材及びガムロジンのグリセロールエステル、トール油ロジンのグリセロールエステル、木材及びガムロジンのグリセロールエステル及び部分水素化木材及びガムロジンなど、及びそれらの混合物が含まれる。エラストマー溶剤は、ガムベースの重量で約2%〜約15%、そして好ましくは約7%〜約11%の量で、ガムベース中に用いることができる。
酸味料、増粘剤、医薬など、及びそれらの混合物から成る群より選択される慣用的添加物量を含有することができる。これらの添加物のいくつかは、一つより多くの目的で働くことができる。例えば、無糖ガム組成物において、マルチトール又は他の糖アルコールのような甘味料は、また増量剤としても機能する。

ノース、ガラクトース、フルクトース(左旋糖)、スクロース(砂糖)、マルトース、転化糖、部分加水分解デンプン及びコーンシロップ固形物及びそれらの混合物のような、単糖類、二糖類及び多糖類が含まれる。
適した水素化デンプン加水分解物には、米国特許第25,959、3,356,811、4,279,931号に開示されているもの、及び、ソルビトール、水素化二糖類、水素化高級多糖類又はそれらの混合物を含有する多様な水素化グルコースシロップ及び/又は粉末が含まれる。水素化デンプン加水分解物は、コーンシロップの制御された触媒水素化により、主として製造される。生じる水素化デンプン加水分解物は、単量体、二量体及び多量体糖類の混合物である。これら異なった糖類の比は、異なった特性の異なった水素化デンプン加水分解物を与える。フランスのRoquette Freres により製造されている商業的に入手可能なLYCASSIN 及びFairlawn, N.J. のLonza, Inc. により製造されている商業的に入手可能なHYSTAR のような、水素化デンプン加水分解物の混合物もまた有用である
。

の拡散反射率吸光度の示度を得ることにより測定した。可視光の色スペクトルにわたる吸光度測定は、国際照明委員会(CIE)CIE L*a*b* ΔE色差式(CIELab色スケール)を使用して得た。このスケールは、3つのパラメーター、L*(明度−暗度スケール)、a*(赤−緑彩度)、及びb*(黄−青彩度)、に従って色を定量する。被包されたスクラロース組成物の全体の変化は、CIELAB式、ΔE=[(ΔL*)2+(Δa*)2+(Δb*)2]1/2を使用して計算される。ΔE値は、各々の色因子(ΔL*=(Lf *−Li *)、Δa*=(af *−ai *)及びΔb*=(bf *−bi *))についての全体の変化を要約し、スクラロースの分解に関連している褐色化を防止するシクロデキストリンの能力を表す。再現性のある示度を得るため、Minolta 分光光度計の3mm直径ターゲッティング開口部の上に直接、被包されたスクラロース組成物の4mm平方セグメントの中心を置くことにより測定を実施した。各々のスクラロース組成物について、L*、a*、及びb*スケールを使用する3吸光度示度の平均をとった。シクロデキストリン−スクラロース対遊離スクラロース押出物間に著しい相違があった(83.74は76.43より白い)。褐色の尺度であるデルタb*についても、シクロデキストリン−スクラロース対遊離スクラロース間に著しい相違があった(2.26と比較して、6.89はより褐色である)。
熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物を製造する別の方法は、高分子量ポリマーとの押出に先立って、最初にスクラロースのような活性剤を低〜中分子量ポリマーと混合する。
Claims (15)
- ガム組成物であって:
ガムベース;及び
少なくとも部分的に被包されている甘味料組成物であって、シクロデキストリンと高温で劣化する活性剤との共結晶化/析出複合体を含んでなる組成物と、300,000以上の分子量を有するポリマーを含んでなる層であって、該シクロデキストリンと高温で劣化する活性剤との共結晶化/析出複合体を含んでなる組成物が被包されている層、とを含んでなる甘味料組成物
を含んでなるガム組成物。 - 請求項1に記載のガム組成物であって、前記ガム組成物が該高温で劣化する活性剤の劣化に抵抗する組成物。
- 請求項1に記載のガム組成物であって、該高温で劣化する活性剤がスクラロースを含んでなる組成物。
- 請求項1に記載のガム組成物であって、前記300,000以上の分子量を有するポリマーが、アクリルポリマー及び共重合体、カルボキシビニルポリマー、ポリアミド、ポリスチレン、ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリビニルアセテートフタレート、ポリビニルピロリドン及びそれらの組み合わせから成る群より選択される組成物。
- 請求項1に記載のガム組成物であって、前記組成物が50μm〜800μmの平均粒子サイズを含んでなる組成物。
- 請求項1に記載のガム組成物であって、該シクロデキストリンと高温で劣化する活性剤との共結晶化/析出複合体を含んでなる組成物が、前記ガム組成物の5%〜50%を構成する組成物。
- 被包された甘味料組成物であって:
(a)シクロデキストリンとスクラロースとの共結晶化/析出複合体を含んでなる熱的に安定化されたスクラロース組成物を調製すること;
(b)前記熱的に安定化されたスクラロース組成物を300,000以上の分子量を有するポリマーと混合すること;
(c)前記熱的に安定化されたスクラロース組成物を前記300,000以上の分子量を有するポリマーと溶融して押出し、被包された組成物を提供すること;及び
(d)前記被包された組成物を適した粒子サイズに成形すること;
により提供される甘味料組成物。 - 請求項7に記載の甘味料組成物であって、前記熱的に安定化されたスクラロース組成物が:
スクラロースとシクロデキストリンとの共結晶化/析出複合体であって:
(i)スクラロース及びシクロデキストリンの水溶液を調製すること;
(ii)前記溶液を、前記スクラロース及び前記シクロデキストリンの共結晶化を可能にするのに十分な時間加熱下で維持して、共結晶化/析出複合体を形成させること;
(iii)前記共結晶化/析出複合体を乾燥させること;及び
(iv)前記共結晶化/析出複合体を適した粒子サイズに成形すること
により提供される複合体
を含んでなる甘味料組成物。 - 被包された活性剤組成物を製造する方法であって:
(a)スクラロースとシクロデキストリンとの共結晶化/析出複合体を含んでなる熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物を調製すること;
(b)前記熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物を300,000以上の分子量を有するポリマーと混合すること;
(c)前記熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物を前記300,000以上の分子量を有するポリマーと溶融して押出し、被包された組成物を提供すること;及び
(d)前記被包された組成物を適した粒子サイズに成形すること;
を含んでなる方法。 - 請求項9に記載の方法であって、前記熱的に安定化された活性剤組成物が:
スクラロースとシクロデキストリンとの共結晶化/析出複合体であって:
(i)活性剤及びシクロデキストリンの水溶液を調製すること;
(ii)前記溶液を、前記活性剤及び前記シクロデキストリンの共結晶化を可能にするのに十分な時間加熱下で維持して、共結晶化/析出複合体を形成させること;
(iii)前記共結晶化/析出複合体を乾燥させること;
(iv)前記共結晶化/析出複合体を9,000〜200,000の分子量を有するポリマーと混合すること;及び
(v)前記共結晶化/析出複合体を適した粒子サイズに成形すること;
により提供される複合体
を含んでなる方法。 - ガム組成物であって:
(a)ガムベース;及び
(b)少なくとも部分的に被包された甘味料組成物であって:
(i)スクラロースとシクロデキストリンとの共結晶化/析出複合体を含んでなるスクラロース組成物;及び
(ii)300,000以上の分子量を有するポリマーを含んでなる層であって、前記スクラロース組成物が被包される層;
を含んでなる甘味料組成物
を含んでなるガム組成物。 - 請求項11に記載の組成物であって、前記甘味料組成物が50μm〜800μmの平均粒子サイズを有する組成物。
- 請求項11に記載の組成物であって、前記スクラロース組成物が、前記甘味料組成物の5%〜50%を構成する組成物。
- 請求項11に記載の組成物であって、前記甘味料組成物がさらに追加の活性剤を含んでなる組成物。
- 請求項14に記載の組成物であって、前記追加の活性剤が、高甘味度甘味料、フレーバー、医薬品、ビタミン及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される組成物。
