Description
第一送信部あるいは受信部のレイテンシーパスは、かなり低いBERが要求され高レイテンシーを許容する映像アプリケーションからのデータを搬送してもよい。この場合、映像は、インターリービング/デインターリービングならびに符号化(前進型誤信号訂正(FEC)符号化としても知られている)機能を有するレイテンシーパスを用いて搬送される。例えば、チェックバイト16(R=16)を有する255バイト(N=225)サイズの符号語を用いたリードソロモン符号ならびにインターリーバー度64(interleaver depth of 64)(D=64)を有するインターリービング/デインターリービング機能を用いてレイテンシーパスを構成してもよい。このレイテンシーパスは、送信器のインターリーバーメモリにおいて(あるいは受信器におけるデインターリーバーメモリにおいて)、N*D=16*255=16キロバイトを要する。このレイテンシーパスは、長さが512バイト小さいバーストエラー(a burst of errors)を修正することが可能となる。
本発明の原理によると、上述の例#1で説明した3つのアプリケーションを搬送するシステムは、少なくとも(16+4)=20Kバイトの容量を含む1つのメモリスペースを共有する3つのレイテンシーパスを有することになる。かかる3つのレイテンシーパスは、N=255/R=16およびN=128/R=8を有する2の符号語を同時に符号化(送信部において)あるいは復号化(受信部において)することが可能な共通の符号ブロックも共有している。
1の映像アプリケーション、1のインターネットアプリケーション、ならびに1の音声アプリケーションに代えて、3つのインターネットアプリケーションが存し、さらに、共有メモリおよび符号化モジュールを違う方法で用いることにより送信部および/または受信部のレイテンシーパスが再構成される。例えば、各レイテンシーパスが、チェックバイト8(R=8)およびインターリーバー度16(D=32)を用いたインターリービング機能を備えた128バイト(N=128)サイズの符号語を用いたリードソロモン符号を用いる、送信部あるいは受信部レイテンシーパスを3つ有するようシステムを再構成することもできる。各レイテンシーパスは、インターリーバーメモリにおいて、N*D=128*32=4キロバイトを要し、各ブロックは、長さが128バイトより小さいバーストエラーを修正することが可能となる。説明済みの3つのインターネットアクセスアプリケーションを搬送する例に基づくと、前記3つのレイテンシーパスは、少なくとも(3*4)=12Kバイトの容量を含む1つのメモリスペースを共有する。また、かかる3つのレイテンシーパスは、N=128/R=16、N=128/R=8およびN=128/8を有する3の符号語を同時に符号化(送信部側で)あるいは復号化(受信部側で)することが可能な共通の符号ブロックをも共有している。
かかるシステムは、さらに別のセットのアプリケーションを搬送するよう構成することができる。例えば、前記レイテンシーパスは、2の映像アプリケーションを搬送するよう構成することができる。この場合のみ、2の送信部または受信部のレイテンシーパスが必要となる。このことは、単に第三レイテンシーパスが使用不可にされたことを意味する。また、上述の最初の例に基づき、メモリが制限されると仮定すると、これら2つのレイテンシーパスのための共有メモリの最大値は20Kバイトである。この場合、各ブロックが、チェックバイト10(R=10)およびインターリーバー度50(D=50)を用いたインターリービング/デインターリービング機能を備えた200バイト(N=200)サイズの符号語を用いたリードソロモン符号を用いる、2のレイテンシーパスを有するようシステムを再構成することもできる。各レイテンシーパスは、インターリーバーメモリにおいて、N*D=200*50=10キロバイトを要し、各ブロックは、長さが250バイトより小さいバーストエラーを修正することが可能となる。この構造により、最初の例と同様に、両方のレイテンシーパスに20Kの共有メモリを有することになる。当該レイテンシーパスのメモリの制限内に留まるため、各レイテンシーパスについてのエラー訂正能力は、例#1の512バイトから250バイトに低下する。
・レイテンシーパス#1のインターリーバーメモリの最大値=16Kバイト
・レイテンシーパス#2のインターリーバーメモリの最大値=16Kバイト
・レイテンシーパス#3のインターリーバーメモリの最大値=16Kバイト
・全てのレイテンシーパスの共有メモリの最大/合計値=20Kバイト
この情報、ならびにアプリケーション要件に基づき、第一送受信機は、レイテンシーパスの設定を選択する。例えば、アプリケーションが、1の映像、1のインターネットアクセスならびに1の音声アプリケーションである場合、第一送受信機は、以下の3つのレイテンシーパスを構成することができる:
レイテンシーパス#1−映像:N=255、R=16、D=64
レイテンシーパス#2−映像:N=128、R=8、D=32
レイテンシーパス#3−映像:N=0、R=0、D=1(符号化またはインターリービングなし)
これにより、インターリーバーメモリの合計は20Kバイトとなる。
レイテンシーパス#1−映像:N=200、R=10、D=50
レイテンシーパス#2−映像:N=200、R=10、D=50
レイテンシーパス#3−映像:N=0、R=0、D=1(符号化またはインターリービングなし)
これによってもインターリーバーメモリの合計は20Kバイトとなる。
Claims (5)
- 共有メモリを有するトランシーバのメモリを割り当てる方法であって、
前記トランシーバの初期化中に、インターリーバメモリの最大量を示すメッセージを、トランシーバから送信しまたはトランシーバにて受信し、
共有メモリの第一部分を、トランシーバの送信部のインターリーバに割り当て、
共有メモリの第二部分を、トランシーバの受信部のデ・インターリーバに割り当てる方法。 - 請求項1の方法において、前記割り当ては、インパルス雑音保護要求に基づくことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1の方法において、前記割り当ては、レイテンシー要求に基づくことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1の方法において、前記割り当ては、ビットエラーレート要求に基づくことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1の方法において、前記割り当ては、データレートに基づくことを特徴とする方法。
