Description
a)(i)ビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーとビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーのターポリマー及び(ii)ポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)を含んでなるマトリックス相[マトリックス相100質量%中、(i)の含有量は20〜80質量パーセント、(ii)の含有量は20〜80質量パーセントである。]、及び
b)(i)幹ゴムと(ii)枝コポリマーを含んでなるグラフトコポリマーであって、幹ゴムがビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーから誘導されたゴムからなり、枝コポリマーがビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたコポリマーからなるグラフトコポリマー
を含んでなり、マトリックス相が当該組成物の総重量の75〜25重量パーセントのレベルで存在し、グラフトコポリマーが当該組成物の総重量の25〜75重量パーセントのレベルで存在する、組成物である。
さらに本発明は、アクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリル(ASA)型組成物であって、当該組成物が、、
a)(A)ポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)及び(B)ビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーとビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたターポリマーを含むマトリックス相であって、A:Bのマトリックス組成が、当該組成物の1/8インチ(3.175ミリ)の厚さで測定した不透明度が91%未満となるものであるマトリックス相、及び
b)幹ゴムと枝コポリマーを含んでなるグラフトコポリマーであって、幹ゴムがビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーから誘導されたゴムからなり、枝コポリマーがビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたコポリマーからなるグラフトコポリマー
を含んでなり、マトリックス相が当該組成物の総重量を基準にして25〜75重量%のレベルで存在し、グラフトコポリマーが当該組成物の総重量の25〜75重量%のレベルで存在し、幹ゴムが当該組成物の総重量の10〜40重量%のレベルで存在する組成物である。
さらに本発明は、半透明性が改良された請求項2記載のアクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリル(ASA)型組成物の製造方法であって、
a)(i)(A)ポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)及び(B)ビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーとビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたターポリマーを含むマトリックス相25〜75質量%と、(ii)幹ゴムと枝コポリマーを含んでなるグラフトコポリマーであって、幹ゴムがビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーから誘導されたゴムからなり、枝コポリマーがビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたコポリマーからなるグラフトコポリマー25〜75重量%とをブレンドすることと、
b)マトリックス相中のA:Bの比を、アクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリル型組成物が1/8インチ(3.175ミリ)の厚さで測定した91%未満の不透明度を有するように調節する
ことを含んでなる方法である。
本発明は一般に、アクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリルタイプ(ASA)の組成物を提供する。この組成物は、
a)以下のものの混合物からなる連続相又はマトリックス(「硬質マトリックス相」ということが多い)
1)この連続硬質相の約90〜約10重量パーセントの範囲の重量割合組成のメタクリル酸メチル及びスチレンアクリロニトリルのターポリマーMMASAN、
2)この連続相の約10〜約90重量パーセントの範囲の重量割合組成のメチルメタクリレートのホモポリマー、すなわちポリメチルメタクリレートPMMA、並びに
b)連続相中に分散した不連続相であって、1)コアグラフトゴム(このコアはアクリル酸ブチルゴムであり、コアグラフト分散相全体の約15〜約90重量パーセントからなる)、及び2)コアグラフト分散相全体の約85〜約10重量パーセントからなるスチレンアクリロニトリル(SAN)のグラフト又は枝ポリマーからなる、不連続相
からなり、
連続又はマトリックス相は組成物全体の約90〜約10重量パーセントからなり、
分散又は不連続相は組成物全体の約10〜約90重量パーセントからなる。
SANグラフト化ポリ(アクリル酸ブチル)分散ゴム状グラフト相のためのマトリックスとして、ポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)とメタクリル酸メチル−スチレン−アクリロニトリルターポリマーのブレンドを用いた。これらの例は、3種の適当なASA/PMMA/MMASAN組成物の使用を重量部で、ASA/PMMA及びASA/MMASAN配合物と比較して本発明の利点を示す。これらの組成物の不透明度の値を測定したところ、不透明度は1/8インチの厚さで91パーセント未満であった。ここで定義される不透明度は25D Hunter Colorimeterで測定されたものであり、パーセントで示す。
Claims (10)
- アクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリル(ASA)型組成物であって、当該組成物が、
a)(i)ビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーとビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーのターポリマー及び(ii)ポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)を含んでなるマトリックス相[マトリックス相100質量%中、(i)の含有量は20〜80質量パーセント、(ii)の含有量は20〜80質量パーセントである。]、及び
b)(i)幹ゴムと(ii)枝コポリマーを含んでなるグラフトコポリマーであって、幹ゴムがビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーから誘導されたゴムからなり、枝コポリマーがビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたコポリマーからなるグラフトコポリマー
を含んでなり、マトリックス相が当該組成物の総重量の75〜25重量パーセントのレベルで存在し、グラフトコポリマーが当該組成物の総重量の25〜75重量パーセントのレベルで存在する、組成物。 - アクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリル(ASA)型組成物であって、当該組成物が、
a)(A)ポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)及び(B)ビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーとビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたターポリマーを含むマトリックス相であって、A:Bのマトリックス組成が、当該組成物の1/8インチ(3.175ミリ)の厚さで測定した不透明度が91%未満となるものであるマトリックス相、及び
b)幹ゴムと枝コポリマーを含んでなるグラフトコポリマーであって、幹ゴムがビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーから誘導されたゴムからなり、枝コポリマーがビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたコポリマーからなるグラフトコポリマー
を含んでなり、マトリックス相が当該組成物の総重量を基準にして25〜75重量%のレベルで存在し、グラフトコポリマーが当該組成物の総重量の25〜75重量%のレベルで存在し、幹ゴムが当該組成物の総重量の10〜40重量%のレベルで存在する組成物。 - 前記グラフトコポリマーが75〜25重量%の幹ゴムと25〜75重量%の枝コポリマーからなる、請求項1又は請求項2記載の組成物。
- 前記マトリックス相が、ビニルカルボン酸エステルホモポリマーとビニルカルボン酸エステル−ビニル芳香族−シアン化ビニルターポリマーから誘導されたものである、請求項1記載の組成物。
- 前記ビニルカルボン酸エステル−ビニル芳香族−シアン化ビニルターポリマーがメタクリル酸メチル−スチレン−アクリロニトリル(MMASAN)ターポリマーである、請求項2又は請求項4記載の組成物。
- MMASANターポリマー中のメタクリル酸メチル(MMA):スチレン(S):アクリロニトリル(AN)の範囲が80/15/15〜30/50/20である、請求項5記載の組成物。
- 前記幹ゴムのビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーがアクリル酸ブチルであり、前記枝コポリマーのビニル芳香族モノマーがスチレンであり、前記枝コポリマーのシアン化ビニルモノマーがアクリロニトリルである、請求項1又は請求項2記載の組成物。
- 前記マトリックス相のビニルカルボン酸エステルがメタクリル酸メチルであり、前記マトリックス相のビニル芳香族モノマーがスチレンであり、前記マトリックス相のシアン化ビニルモノマーがアクリロニトリルであり、前記幹ゴムのビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーがアクリル酸ブチルであり、前記枝コポリマーのビニル芳香族モノマーがスチレンであり、前記枝コポリマーのシアン化ビニルモノマーがアクリロニトリルである、請求項1記載の組成物。
- ASA樹脂がさらに、ドライ着色剤、液体着色剤、カラーコンセントレート、カプセル化顔料、ペースト顔料、ユニバーサルコンセントレート、凍結乾燥コンセントレート、多機能性コンセントレート及びこれらの物理的混合物からなる群から選択される着色剤を含んでいる、請求項1又は請求項2記載の組成物。
- 半透明性が改良された請求項2記載のアクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリル(ASA)型組成物の製造方法であって、
a)(i)(A)ポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)及び(B)ビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーとビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたターポリマーを含むマトリックス相25〜75質量%と、(ii)幹ゴムと枝コポリマーを含んでなるグラフトコポリマーであって、幹ゴムがビニルカルボン酸エステルモノマーから誘導されたゴムからなり、枝コポリマーがビニル芳香族モノマーとシアン化ビニルモノマーとから誘導されたコポリマーからなるグラフトコポリマー25〜75重量%とをブレンドすることと、
b)マトリックス相中のA:Bの比を、アクリレート−スチレン−アクリロニトリル型組成物が1/8インチ(3.175ミリ)の厚さで測定した91%未満の不透明度を有するように調節する
ことを含んでなる方法。
