Description
自車両の側方に存在する物体を検出する超音波センサと、
自車両に対して二輪車の接近が予測されるかどうかを判断する二輪車接近判断手段と、
超音波センサの検出距離及び検出感度の少なくとも一方の設定を調整するものであって、二輪車接近判断手段によって二輪車の接近が予測されると判断した場合、検出距離の設定を規定距離よりも長距離に調整するとともに、検出感度の設定を規定感度よりも高感度に調整する調整手段と、を備えることを特徴とする。

Claims (5)
- 自車両の側方に存在する物体を検出する超音波センサと、
自車両に対して二輪車の接近が予測されるかどうかを判断する二輪車接近判断手段と、
前記超音波センサの検出距離及び検出感度の少なくとも一方の設定を調整するものであって、前記二輪車接近判断手段によって二輪車の接近が予測されると判断した場合、前記検出距離の設定を規定距離よりも長距離に調整するとともに、前記検出感度の設定を規定感度よりも高感度に調整する調整手段と、を備えることを特徴とする障害物検出装置。 - 前記二輪車接近判断手段は、二輪車の接近情報、及び前記自車両の走行する道路が渋滞中である旨の情報の少なくとも一方の情報を前記自車両の外部との通信によって得た場合に、二輪車の接近が予測されると判断することを特徴とする請求項1記載の障害物検出装置。
- 前記自車両の側方領域を照らす照明手段と、
前記二輪車接近判断手段によって二輪車の接近が予測されると判断した場合、前記照明手段を点灯する照明制御手段と、を備えることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の障害物検出装置。 - 前記超音波センサによって二輪車を検出した場合、その二輪車の接近情報を前記自車両の外部へ送信する外部送信手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の障害物検出装置。
- 前記超音波センサによって二輪車を検出した場合、前記自車両の運転者に警報を発生する警報発生手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の障害物検出装置。
