Description

ここに、該エレクトロクロミック材料は、主表面(major surface)の少なくとも一部分で、該デバイスの少なくとも一部分の外部表面を形成する、主表面を有するエレクトロクロミックデバイスが提供される。
(a) F、Cl、Sb、P AsもしくはBをドープしたSnO2;
(b) Al、In、Ga、B、F、Si、Ge、Ti、ZrまたはHfをドープしたZnO;
(c) SnをドープしたIn2O3;
(d) CdO;
(e) ZnSnO3、Zn2In2O5、In4Sn3O12、GaInO3もしくはMgIn2O4;
(f) SbをドープしたFe2O3;
(g) TiO2/WO3またはTiO2/MoO3系;および
(h) Fe2O3/SbまたはSnO2/Sb系
好ましくは、SbをドープしたSnO2のいずれかから選択された金属酸化物のナノ粒子を含む。
TiO2、ZrO2、HfO2、CrO3、MoO3、WO3、V2O3、V2O5、Nb2O5、SnO2、Ta2O5、AgO、Ag2O、ZnO、SrO、FeO、Fe2O3もしくはNiO、またはそのペロブスカイト、より好ましくは、TiO2、WO3、MoO3、ZnOもしくはSnO2のいずれかから選択された金属酸化物のナノ粒子を含む。
・それは、種々の基板上のエレクトロクロミックコーティングの堆積を可能とする。
・支持基板は、透明である必要がない。
・高反射状態(オフ状態)における高い反射率が達成できる。
・新しいアーキテクチャーは、既に他の電子部品を持っている回路基盤または他の基板上にデバイスを統合するのを容易にさせる。デバイスをディスプレイとして用いるならば、それは(同一回路基盤に位置した)他のディスプレイ・コンポーネントにそれを「配線」する非常に単純な方法を提供する。
・反射型ディスプレイにおける反射率の損失はない。
スズをドープした酸化インジウム(ITO)で覆われたガラス形態の支持基板は、標準的ウェットエッチング技術によりパターン化した。スクリーン印刷技術を用いて、以下の層を以下の配列:
a) SbをドープしたSnO2−(ナノ構造化;微粒子+結合剤+溶媒ペースト)
b) SiO2で被膜保護したルチル(微粒子+結合剤+溶媒ペースト);
c) ITO(ナノ−微粒子+結合剤+溶媒ペースト);および
d) TiO2(ナノ粒子+ポリマー+結合剤ペースト)
にて、その基板に配置した。
その電気絶縁層(b)は、Kayら、Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells (1996), 44(1), pp 99 117により記載された手順により以下にリストした材料を用いて調製した。
無機顔料:ルチルTiO2;DuPontによるTi−ピュアールチルR706。メジアン粒径:0.36μm、3.0%SiO2および有機的処理。
結合剤:ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース(HPC);Klucel EXF PHARM。
溶媒:テルピネオール;無水、プルム(purum)、異性体の混合物、Fluka注文番号86480。
Claims (23)
- (a) 電気的に導電性または半導電性の材料の多孔層を含む作用電極(ここに、該多孔層は、それ自体がエレクトロクロミックである材料を含む、および/または少なくとも一部分の該多孔層はエレクトロクロミック材料を支える);
(b) 前記作用電極(a)と物理的接触を有さない、電気的に導電性または半導電性材料の多孔層を含む対電極;

- 前記作用電極が、主表面の少なくとも一部分がエレクトロクロミック材料を支える主表面を有する請求項1または2記載のデバイス。
- 前記エレクトロクロミック材料が、前記作用電極の主表面を実質的に覆う請求項4記載のデバイス。
- 作用電極、対電極および絶縁層がそれらの長さに沿って実質的に並列であり;および/または作用電極、対電極および絶縁層が相互に実質的に同一空間に広がる請求項1〜5のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 作用電極の少なくとも一部分が、対電極の側面に沿って離間配置されている請求項1〜5のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 支持基板が、透明または不透明な材料から形成される請求項1〜7のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 基板が、ガラスまたは金属またはセラミックまたはプラスチックの材料から形成される請求項8に記載のデバイス。
- 支持基板が、その内部表面の少なくとも一部分で電気導電性コーティングを支える請求項8または9記載のデバイス。
- 電気導電性コーティングが、ドープした金属酸化物、または導電性ポリマーもしくは金属を含む請求項10記載のデバイス。
- 作用電極および/または対電極の材料の固有シート抵抗が、10,000オーム/スクエア未満である請求項1〜9のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 作用電極および/または対電極が、
(a)F、Cl、Sb、P、AsもしくはBをドープしたSnO2;
(b)Al、In、Ga、B、F、Si、Ge、Ti、ZrもしくはHfをドープしたZnO;
(c)SnをドープしたIn2O3;
(d)CdO;
(e)ZnSnO3、Zn2In2O5、In4Sn3O12、GaInO3もしくはMgIn2O4;
(f)SbをドープしたFe2O3;
(g)TiO2/WO3またはTiO2/MoO3系;および
(h)Fe2O3/SbまたはSnO2/Sb系;
のいずれかから選択された金属酸化物のナノ粒子を含む電気導電性材料を含む請求項1〜12のいずれか1記載のデバイス。 - 作用電極および/または対電極が、TiO2、ZrO2、HfO2、CrO3、MoO3、WO3、VO、NbO、SnO2、TaO、AgO、ZnO、SrO、FeO、Fe2O3もしくはNiO、またはそのペロブスカイトのいずれかから選択された金属酸化物のナノ粒子を含む半導電性材料を含む請求項1〜13のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 作用電極のエレクトロクロミック材料が、WO3およびTiO2から選択された金属酸化物、またはアンチモンもしくはフッ素をドープした酸化スズおよびスズをドープした酸化インジウムから選択されたドープした金属酸化物である請求項3記載のデバイス。
- イオン導電性媒体をさらに含む請求項1〜15のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 電気絶縁層が、イオン導電性媒体を含む請求項1〜16のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 電気絶縁材料が多孔性であり、かつ各多孔層が少なくとも部分的に密閉され、イオン導電性媒体が、電極および絶縁材料の気孔を少なくとも部分的に充填する液体の電解質を含む請求項1〜16のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 電気絶縁材料が、SiO2、Al2O3、ZrOおよびMgOから選択された金属酸化物、またはSiO2で皮膜保護されたルチル型におけるTiO2を含む請求項18記載のデバイス。
- 電流支持層(d)が、スズをドープした酸化インジウムもしくはフッ素をドープした酸化スズ、またはポリチオフェン類、ポリピロール類およびポリビオロゲン類から選択された導電性ポリマーを含む請求項1〜19のいずれか1記載のデバイス。
- 支持基板上に、電気導電性コーティングが支持され、
該電気導電性コーティングが前記電気絶縁材料の層(c)の一部で電気的に少なくとも2つに隔離され、
隔離された一方の電気導電性コーティングに対電極(b)が物理的に接触し、
隔離された他方の電気導電性コーティングに、電流支持層(d)の一部あるいは電流支持層(d)の一部と作用電極(a)の一部が物理的に接触している請求項1〜20のいずれか1記載のデバイス。 - 作用電極(a)は、電流支持層(d)を介して前記他方の電気導電性コーティングに電気的に接続される請求項21に記載のデバイス。
- 電流支持層(d)は、前記電気絶縁材料の層(c)の上に物理的に堆積され、前記電気絶縁材料の層(c)に前記電気導電性コーティングと電流支持層(d)との接触を可能とするバイアホールを含み、該バイアホール内に電流支持層(d)が充填されることによって前記電気導電性コーティングと電気的に接触している請求項22に記載のデバイス。
