Description
また、シェル01の開口端部内側には、それぞれエンドプレート02,02の端部を挿入した状態でシェル01の開口端部とエンドプレート02,02の一部外周をレーザー溶接07,07(またはMIG溶接等)することにより、シェル01とエンドプレート02,02を固定している。
図1は本発明の実施例1の消音器構造を示す全体図、図2は図1のS2−S2線における端面図(アウトレットパイプは省略)、図3は本実施例1の内部構造体を示す図(一部断面図)、図4、5は本実施例1の消音器構造の製造を説明する図である。
なお、アウタシェル3の端部3aを軸方向に連続して溶接することにより、より堅固に固定するようにしても良い。
なお、切欠部6は少なくとも重ね代5の幅W1及び後述するエンドプレート2a,2bの挿入代と同じか広くなるような幅W2を有して形成されている。
また、エンドプレート2aには、内部構造体11のインレットパイプ7を接続するための接続孔(図示せず)が、エンドプレート2bには内部構造体11のアウトレットパイプ8を接続するための接続孔(図示せず)がそれぞれ設けられている。
このように構成された消音器構造を製造する際には、先ず、図4に示すように、切欠部6が予め形成された1枚の金属製の板材を巻回用治具10に始端部を掴ませて、その外周に筒状に二重に巻回して重ね代5をスポット溶接Sすることにより、アウタシェル3とインナシェル4から成るシェル1を形成する。
なお、巻回用治具10の代わりに内部構造体11を使用してシェル1を形成しても良い。
また、エンドプレート2a,2bの挿入側端部に縮径部9を形成したため、開口端部1a,1b内側への挿入性をさらに良好にできると同時に、両者を安定して密着した状態に固定できる。
例えば、本実施例1ではシェルを二重巻き構造としたが、一重巻き、または三重巻き以上の多重巻き構造でも良い。
また、溶接の種類、幅W1,W2等の値については適宜設定できる。
また、アウタシェル3とインナシェル4は、予め別体で形成して両者を接合した後で巻回しても良く、この場合、両者の材料や厚みを変えても良い。

Claims (2)
- 金属製の板材を筒状に一重または多重に巻回してシェルを形成すると共に、このシェルの開口端部内側にエンドプレートの挿入側端部を挿入した状態で該開口端部とエンドプレートの一部外周を溶接固定した消音器構造において、
前記シェルの巻回方向最内周端部に、前記開口端部からシェルの軸方向内側へ切欠した切欠部を形成したことを特徴とする消音器構造。 - 請求項1記載の消音器構造において、
前記エンドプレートの挿入側端部に、縮径した縮径部を形成したことを特徴とする消音器構造
