Description
かかる場合に、従来の溶着ホーン121を用いてテープリール110の一端面に金属プレートを固定しようとすると、ボス115をかしめる際に、溶着ホーン121の制動誤差によって、溶着ホーン121の先端が金属プレートの表面に接触し、金属プレートあるいは溶着ホーン121が損傷してしまうという問題がある。
なお、ボスの体積は、ボス孔の容積よりも5%〜15%大きく形成するのが好適である。
また、部品設置部およびテープリールに、位相合わせのための凸部や凹部などを設ける必要がないため、テープリール用金属プレートのかしめ装置の構造をシンプルにすることができる。また、テープリールの製造工程を自動化する際に、リール供給機構の構造を簡略化することができる。
さらに、本発明によれば、テープリールと金属プレートとが接触することがないため、金属プレートまたは溶着ホーンの損傷を防止することができる。これにより、不良品の発生が防止され、テープリールの生産性を更に向上させることができる。
テープリール10は、磁気テープなどが巻回される部材であり、図1に示すように、ハブ11と上フランジ12と下フランジ13とから構成されている。テープリール10は合成樹脂製であり、射出成形等の方法で成形される。なお、説明の便宜上、ハブ11の軸方向を上下方向とし、一端側を上側(図1の上側)、他端側を下側(図1の下側)とする。
金属プレート20は、凹部11Aよりも若干小径の円盤形状を呈しており、その厚さd(図2(a)参照)は凹部11Aの底面と上フランジ12の上面12Aとの段差よりも小さく形成されている。金属プレート20の中心には、軸孔21が形成されており、ハブ11の凹部11Aに形成された突条11Cと嵌合するようになっている。また、金属プレート20には、その中心から等距離の位置に、軸回り方向に等間隔(120°間隔)で3つのボス孔22、22、22が形成されている。金属プレート20の中心からボス孔22の中心までの距離は、テープリール10の軸心からボス14の中心までの距離と等しく形成されている。これにより、金属プレート20は、テープリール10のボス14をボス孔22に通しながら凹部11Aに設置可能となっている。ボス孔22については後に詳しく説明する。
ボス14は、後記するかしめ装置1の溶着ホーン3によってかしめられる部分であり、かしめられた状態で、金属プレート20のボス孔22と係合するようになっている。ボス14は、図1、図2に示すように、円柱形状を呈しており、その高さhは金属プレート20の厚さdよりも大きく形成されている。すなわち、ボス14は、金属プレート20のボス孔22に挿入されたときに、ボス孔22から突出するようになっている(図2(b)参照)。また、ボス14は、溶着ホーン3によってかしめられ(溶解され)たときに、ボス孔22からあふれる(はみ出す)ように、その大きさが調節されている(図2(c)参照)。本実施形態では、ボス14の体積がボス孔22の容積よりも大きくなるように形成されている。
図3は、本実施形態に係るテープリール用金属プレートのかしめ装置の概略構成図である。
テープリール用金属プレートのかしめ装置1(以下、単に「かしめ装置1」という)は、金属プレート20のボス孔22に挿通されたテープリール10のボス14をかしめる装置であり、図3に示すように、部品設置台2と、溶着ホーン3と、超音波発振部4と、昇降装置5と、センサ6と、制御部7と、操作部8とからなる。
次に、かしめ装置1の動作について図4のフローチャートを参照しつつ説明する。
はじめに、金属プレート20のボス孔22に、テープリール10のボス14を挿入し(図2(B)参照)、金属プレート20をテープリール10の凹部11Aに設置する(ステップS1)。
かしめ装置1のかしめ対象となるテープリールは、図1に示したテープリール10のような構造に限られるものではなく、次のような構造であってもよい。
図5に示すテープリール30は、ハブ31と上フランジ33とを別体に形成した点が、第1実施形態のテープリール10と異なっている。すなわち、テープリール30は、円筒形状のハブ31と、このハブ31の下端縁に一体的に形成され、ハブ31の軸直角方向に延設された円盤形状の下フランジ32と、ハブ31とは別体に形成された円盤形状の上フランジ33とから構成されている。
金属プレート20のボス孔22は、図2に示すような形状のものに限られるものではなく、例えば、図6に示すように、ボス孔22の上側開口部22Cがテーパ状に形成されていてもよい。かかる形状によっても、溶解したボス14がテーパ状の上側開口部22Cに沿って変形し、金属プレート20をかしめることができる。
他の実施形態に係る溶着ホーン3は、図7に示すように、中心部に中空部3bを有する円筒形状を呈しており、先端面3aの形状はドーナツ状に形成されている。
溶着ホーン3の軸心から中空部3bの内周面までの距離は、金属プレート20の軸心からボス孔22の内周面までの最小距離よりも小さく形成されている。また、溶着ホーン3の軸心から外周面までの距離は、図2に示した溶着ホーン3と同じく、金属プレート20の軸心からボス孔22の内周面までの最大距離よりも大きく形成されている。
溶着ホーン3の先端面3aの形状をこのような大きさに設定することにより、すべてのボス14(34)に溶着ホーン3の先端面3aを一度に当接させることができる。

Claims (1)
- テープリールの一端面に形成された複数のボスを、金属プレートに形成された複数のボス孔に挿入した状態で前記ボスをかしめ装置を用いてかしめることにより、テープリールの一端面に金属プレートを固定するテープリール用金属プレートのかしめ方法であって、
前記かしめ装置は、
前記金属プレートのボス孔が前記ボスに係合した状態で前記テープリールが設置される部品設置部と、
前記部品設置部に設置された前記テープリールのボスを溶解させる溶着ホーンと、
前記溶着ホーンを振動させる超音波発振部と、
前記溶着ホーンを前記ボスに対して当接離間させる駆動部と、
前記ボスを溶解させるときに前記溶着ホーンが前記ボスから受ける反力を検知する反力検知部と、
前記反力検知部からの信号が予め記憶した基準値よりも大きくなった場合に、前記超音波発振部または前記駆動部を制御してかしめ動作を停止させる制御部と、を備え、
前記複数のボスは、前記複数のボス孔に挿入されたときに前記ボス孔から突出するように構成されるとともに、前記ボスの体積は、前記ボス孔の容積よりも大きく形成され、
前記ボス孔は、小径部と、この小径部よりも径の大きな大径部とから構成され、
前記部品設置部は、前記テープリール及び前記金属プレートを、前記テープリールの軸周り方向に任意の向きで設置可能であり、
前記溶着ホーンの先端面は、平坦に形成され、
前記溶着ホーンの先端面の平面形状は、前記部品設置部に設置されたテープリールのすべての前記ボスに当接可能な形状に形成されており、
前記溶着ホーンを振動させながら前記ボスに向かって移動させる工程と、
前記溶着ホーンによって前記ボスを溶解して前記大径部を充填するとともに、前記大径部に収まりきらなかった溶解したボスの一部を、前記溶着ホーンの先端面と前記金属プレートの上面との間にはみ出させる工程と、を含むことを特徴とするテープリール用金属プレートのかしめ方法。
