【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、小型プラスチック成形品等を熱かしめするための装置である。

【従来の技術】
一般にこの種の熱かしめ装置は、固定治具の上に載置したプラスチック成形品の上に可動治具を下降させ、成形品の一部を可動治具のヒータ部で熱しながら加圧してかしめるものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記従来の熱かしめ装置にあっては、可動治具をエアー圧によって駆動しているために、微小のエアー圧でワークを加圧するのが難しく、加圧によってワークに歪みが発生してしまうような成形品のかしめには利用することができなかった。

また、上述のようにエアー圧によって可動治具を駆動させる場合、予め設定した可動治具の最下降位置でワークに所定圧が加わるようにしてあるために、ワークの成形誤差などによって加圧力にばらつきを生じ、ワークをかしめ過ぎたり、また逆にかしめ力が不足するなどの問題があった。

更に、エアー圧の場合には、可動治具の下降スピードを途中で切り換えることができないので可動治具を常に一定速で下降させなければならず、小形の成形品をかしめる時などには加圧力が小さいことから可動治具の下降スピードも制約を受け、かしめ作業に時間が掛かってしまうといった問題があった。

そこで、本発明は微小の加圧力によってワークをかしめることができる熱かしめ装置の提供を目的とする。

また、本発明はワークに成形誤差などがあってもワークを常に一定の加圧力でかしめられるようにして品質の均一化を図ることができる熱かしめ装置の提供を目的とする。

更に、本発明は可動治具の下降スピードを途中で切り換えられるようにして、かしめ作業に要する時間の短縮を図ることのできる熱かしめ装置の提供を目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明の請求項1に係る熱かしめ装置は、本体部と、この本体部に上下動可能に取り付けられたヒータ付きの可動治具と、前記本体部側に設けられた固定治具とを備え、固定治具に載置したワーク上に可動治具を下降させて加圧する熱かしめ装置において、前記可動治具の下降スピードをサーボモータによって制御すると共に、予め設定した所定の加圧力がワークに加わったことをサーボモータのトルクによって検出し、その検出信号に基づいて可動治具の加圧を制限することを特徴とする。

また、本発明の請求項2に係る熱かしめ装置は、前記可動治具の下端部にワーク押えを配置し、前記可動治具を下降させてワークを加圧する際、固定治具に載置されたワークを前記ワーク押えによって固定することを特徴とする。

更に、本発明の請求項3に係る熱かしめ装置は、前記可動治具の下降スピードは、固定治具に載置されるワークの上方近傍位置まで下降する際の移動スピードと、ワークに所定の加圧力を加える時の移動スピードとが異なり、前者の移動スピードの方が後者より速くなるようにサーボモータによって駆動制御されることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下添付図面に基づいて本発明に係る熱かしめ装置の一形態を詳細に説明する。図1及び図2において、卓上型の熱かしめ装置1は、コントロールユニット3およびタワーユニット4で構成される本体部2と、タワーユニット4に上下動可能に取り付けられたホーンユニット5とで構成される。前記コントロールユニット3内には、サーボモータ6及びこれを制御するコンピュータ7等の電装部品が内蔵されている。また、コントロールユニット3の上面には固定治具8が取り付けられ、更に前面には表示部9が設けられている。タワーユニット4内には前記サーボモータ6の駆動によって回転するボールネジ10が上下方向に長く配置されると共に、このボールネジ10にホーンユニット5のナット部11がボールベアリング(図示せず)を介して取り付けられている。また、タワーユニット4の前面にはテンキーによってかしめ条件の数値などを設定する操作パネル19が設けられている。

上記ホーンユニット5には、図2に示したように、ホーン取付ベース5aに可動治具12が着脱可能に設けられている他、可動治具12の上部にはヒータ13及び断熱材14が内蔵されており、かしめ時にはヒータ13によって可動治具12を加熱している。また、ホーンユニット5の中心部には加圧時にワークを動かないように固定するためのワーク押え15が配置されている。このワーク押え15には下方向に付勢するスプリング16が巻装され、その先端には各ワークに対応した押え部材17が着脱可能に取り付けられている。

次に上記コントロールユニット3による制御方法を説明する。ホーンユニット5は、コンピュータ7からの指令信号に基づいて駆動するサーボモータ6によって制御されているが、この実施例では図3に示したように、可動治具12の移動制限位置として、固定治具8に載置したワーク18の上方近傍に設定された切替位置と、それより下方に設定された可動治具12の最大下降制限位置と、この最大下降制限位置と前記切替位置との間に設定された加圧制限位置とが設けられている。

上記切替位置は、ホーンユニット5の下降スピードを切り替えるための位置であり、ホームポジションから切替位置までの間はサーボモータ6の回転を速くしてホーンユニット5を素早く移動させ作業時間の短縮を図る一方、切替位置から最大下降制限位置まではホーンユニット5の下降スピードを低速に抑えて微小圧のかしめにも対応できるようにしてある。

また、加圧制限位置は、ワーク18に適正なかしめ力が得られるように設けたものであり、可動治具12がかしめ代18aまで達して所定の加圧力が得られた時の位置である。ホーンユニット5の下降は、この加圧制限位置の検出によって停止される。従って、各ワーク18毎に予め設定した所定の加圧力に応じて加圧制限位置の高さは異なってくる。また、ワーク18の成形誤差などによって固定治具8の上に載置した各ワーク18の高さにばらつきがあったとしても、可動治具12がかしめ代18aまで加圧して所定の加圧力に達したときには検出信号が出力されてかしめが解除されるので、かしめ過ぎたりかしめ力が足りなかったりといったことがない。なお、上記加圧制限位置は、可動治具12の加圧力をサーボモータ6が直接に感知することで検出されるが、このように可動治具12の加圧力をサーボモータ6でトクル制御することにより、最小500g/cm2 、分解能100g/cm2 程度までの微小加圧力でワーク18をかしめることが可能となった。

一方、最大下降制限位置は、ホーンユニット5が下降する際の最大ストロークを定めたものである。この最大下降制限位置を定めたことによって、例えば固定治具8の上にワーク18を載置し忘れた場合や、ワーク18に異常が発生して所定の加圧力が得られない場合に、ホーンユニット5の下降位置を制限することで、装置の安全性を図ることができると共に異常を知らせることができる。なお、この最大下降制限位置は、上記加圧制限位置と同一位置となる場合もある。

図4は、上記コントロールユニット3における制御のフローチャートを示したものである。この制御では先ず熱かしめ装置1の電源スイッチを入れて数値設定画面を表示する(S1)。この数値設定画面には切替位置、最大下降制限位置、ワーク個数、加圧制限値、加圧回数のモードが表示されるから、各モードを順番に選択してテンキーから必要な数値を入力していく。先ず切替位置を選択し、ホームポジションから切替位置までの移動距離K1と、停止時間を設定する(S2)。切替位置はワーク18の種類によって異なるが、一般には固定治具8にワーク18を載置した時のワーク18の上方近傍である。停止時間は切替位置から最大下降制限位置に移る際の待ち時間であり、切替位置までの移動とそれ以降では制御方法が異なるので、その切り替えに必要な時間を考慮して入力する。次いで最大下降制限位置モードを選択し、切替位置から最大下降制限位置までの移動距離K2と停止時間とを設定する(S3)。停止時間は、後述する所定の加圧力が得られた時にその位置で加圧力を保持したまま停止するもので、ワーク18が適性なかしめ力を得るのに必要かつ十分な時間を設定する。

上記切替位置および最大下降制限位置を設定したのち、ワーク個数モードを選択し、ワーク18の作業個数を設定する(S4)。次いで、加圧制限位置を決定するための加圧制限値をモード選択して所定の加圧力を設定する(S5)。最後にワーク18をかしめる際の加圧回数を設定する(S6)。これら任意に打ち込んだ数値はコントロールユニット3前面の表示部9に表示されると共にコンピュータ7に入力される。各モードの入力を完了した後、スタートボタンを押すと、上記入力条件に基づいてサーボモータ6によるホーンユニット5の駆動制御が開始される(S7)。ホーンユニット5は切替位置までハイスピードで下降し、その位置で一旦停止した後徐々に下降し始める。可動治具12がワーク18に当接した後更に下降することで次第に加圧力を高めていき、所定の加圧力に達した時に検出信号が出力されてホーンユニット5の下降が止まり、そこで所定時間停止したのち切替位置もしくはホームポジションまで戻る(S8)。なお、ワーク18を加圧する際、上記加圧回数に基づいて可動治具12でワーク18の頭を打つ。

図5は、上記熱かしめ装置1を用いてエポキシ基板20に端子ピン21を取り付ける場合の実施例を示したものである。かしめ前の端子ピン21は頭部21aが長く伸びており、脚部21bを固定治具8に差し込んで固定する。その上から端子ピン21の頭部21aにエポキシ基板20のピン開孔を嵌め入れる。このようにして、熱かしめ装置1のスタートボタンを押すと、予め設定された数値に基づいてサーボモータ6が駆動し、ホーンユニット5が切替位置まで素早く下降する。この切替位置は、例えば図5に示したように、可動治具12の先端が端子ピン21の長く伸びた頭部21aの上面すれすれの位置である。待ち時間を経た後、加圧力制御に切り換わり、可動治具12で端子ピン21の頭部21aを加熱しながら徐々に押圧していく。頭部21aを何回か打つことで次第に潰れて所定の加圧力を検出し、その加圧制限位置において所定の停止時間だけ加圧力を保持することで図5に示したような形状に頭部21aが潰れ、適正なかしめ力が得られる。かしめが終了するとホーンユニット5は切替位置に戻るので、次のワークを固定治具8にセットする。

図6はプラスチックレンズを複数枚重ねて構成したレンズ群30をケーシング31に組み込んでかしめる場合の例を示したものである。この場合にはケーシング31にレンズ群30を組み込み、ケーシング31の下部側を固定治具8の上に載置する。この状態でスタートボタンを押すと、ホーンユニット5はケーシング31の上部近傍位置まで素早く移動する。加圧力制御に切り替わった後、押え部材17でレンズ群30を押さえて固定すると共に、可動治具12がケーシング31の上端部を加熱しながら徐々に押圧し、加圧制限位置において図6に示したようにケーシング31の上縁部31aをレンズ群30の周囲にかしめる。ケーシング31の上部側のかしめが終了したらケーシング31を上下逆にし、かしめが終了したケーシング31の上部側を固定治具8の上に載置し、再び上述の同様の制御によってケーシング31の下縁部をレンズ群30の周囲にかしめ、レンズ群30とケーシング31とを一体に固定する。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、本発明の請求項1に係る熱かしめ装置によれば、可動治具の駆動をサーボモータによって制御し、予め設定した所定の加圧力がワークに加わったことを検出して可動治具の下降を停止する加圧制限位置を設けたから、微小の加圧力による制御が可能となり、小型プラスチック成形品等の熱かしめの適用範囲が広くなる他、ワークに成形誤差などがあってもワークを常に一定の加圧力でかしめられるから、かしめ過ぎたりかしめ不足になるといったことがなく品質の均一化を図ることができる。

また、本発明の請求項2に係る熱かしめ装置によれば、加圧制限位置とは別に可動治具の最大下降制限位置を設けたので、ワークのトラブル等で所定の加圧力を得られなくても装置の安全性が確保されることになる。

更に、本発明の請求項3に係る熱かしめ装置によれば、固定治具に載置したワークの上方近傍位置までと、それより下方の加圧制限位置までとで可動治具が下降する際の移動スピードを異ならせ、前者での移動スピードを速く、後者での移動スピードを遅く設定したので、かしめ作業に要する時間の短縮を図ることのできる。

Claims (3)

  1. 本体部と、この本体部に上下動可能に取り付けられたヒータ付きの可動治具と、前記本体部側に設けられた固定治具とを備え、固定治具に載置したワーク上に可動治具を下降させて加圧する熱かしめ装置において、
    前記可動治具の下降スピードをサーボモータによって制御すると共に、予め設定した所定の加圧力がワークに加わったことをサーボモータのトルクによって検出し、その検出信号に基づいて可動治具の加圧を制限することを特徴とする熱かしめ装置。
  2. 前記可動治具の下端部にワーク押えを配置し、前記可動治具を下降させてワークを加圧する際、固定治具に載置されたワークを前記ワーク押えによって固定する請求項1記載の熱かしめ装置。
  3. 前記可動治具の下降スピードは、固定治具に載置されるワークの上方近傍位置まで下降する際の移動スピードと、ワークに所定の加圧力を加える時の移動スピードとが異なり、前者の移動スピードの方が後者より速くなるようにサーボモータによって駆動制御される請求項1記載の熱かしめ装置。
