Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 微小の加圧力でワークをかしめることができ
ると共に、ワークに成形誤差などがあってもワークを常
に一定の加圧力でかしめられるようにしてかしめ過ぎや
かしめ不足をなくし、品質の均一化を図ることができ
る。 【解決手段】 本体部2と、この本体部2に上下動可能
に取り付けられたヒータ付きの可動治具12と、前記本
体部2側に設けられた固定治具8とを備え、固定治具8
に載置したワーク上に可動治具12を下降させて加圧す
る熱かしめ装置1において、上記可動治具12の駆動を
サーボモータ6によって制御し、予め設定した所定の加
圧力がワークに加わったことを検出して可動治具12の
下降を停止する加圧制限位置を設けた。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、小型プラスチック
成形品等を熱かしめするための装置である。
【0002】
【従来の技術】一般にこの種の熱かしめ装置は、固定治
具の上に載置したプラスチック成形品の上に可動治具を
下降させ、成形品の一部を可動治具のヒータ部で熱しな
がら加圧してかしめるものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、上記従
来の熱かしめ装置にあっては、可動治具をエアー圧によ
って駆動しているために、微小のエアー圧でワークを加
圧するのが難しく、加圧によってワークに歪みが発生し
てしまうような成形品のかしめには利用することができ
なかった。
【0004】また、上述のようにエアー圧によって可動
治具を駆動させる場合、予め設定した可動治具の最下降
位置でワークに所定圧が加わるようにしてあるために、
ワークの成形誤差などによって加圧力にばらつきを生
じ、ワークをかしめ過ぎたり、また逆にかしめ力が不足
するなどの問題があった。
【0005】更に、エアー圧の場合には、可動治具の下
降スピードを途中で切り換えることができないので可動
治具を常に一定速で下降させなければならず、小形の成
形品をかしめる時などには加圧力が小さいことから可動
治具の下降スピードも制約を受け、かしめ作業に時間が
掛かってしまうといった問題があった。
【0006】そこで、本発明は微小の加圧力によってワ
ークをかしめることができる熱かしめ装置の提供を目的
とする。
【0007】また、本発明はワークに成形誤差などがあ
ってもワークを常に一定の加圧力でかしめられるように
して品質の均一化を図ることができる熱かしめ装置の提
供を目的とする。
【0008】更に、本発明は可動治具の下降スピードを
途中で切り換えられるようにして、かしめ作業に要する
時間の短縮を図ることのできる熱かしめ装置の提供を目
的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の請求項1に係る
熱かしめ装置は、本体部と、この本体部に上下動可能に
取り付けられたヒータ付きの可動治具と、前記本体部側
に設けられた固定治具とを備え、固定治具に載置したワ
ーク上に可動治具を下降させて加圧する熱かしめ装置に
おいて、上記可動治具の駆動をサーボモータによって制
御し、予め設定した所定の加圧力がワークに加わったこ
とを検出して可動治具の下降を停止する加圧制限位置を
設けたことを特徴とする。
【0010】また、本発明の請求項2に係る熱かしめ装
置は、上記可動治具の駆動をサーボモータによって制御
し、予め設定した所定の加圧力がワークに加わったこと
を検出して可動治具の下降を停止する加圧制限位置を設
けると共に、この加圧制限位置と同一もしくはそれより
下方に可動治具の最下降制限位置を設けたことを特徴と
する。

置は、上記可動治具の駆動をサーボモータによって制御
し、固定治具に載置したワークの上方近傍位置までと、
それより下方の加圧制限位置までとで可動治具が下降す
る際の移動スピードを異ならせ、前者での移動スピード
を速く、後者での移動スピードを遅く設定したことを特
徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】以下添付図面に基づいて本発明に
係る熱かしめ装置の一形態を詳細に説明する。図1及び
図2において、卓上型の熱かしめ装置1は、コントロー
ルユニット3およびタワーユニット4で構成される本体
部2と、タワーユニット4に上下動可能に取り付けられ
たホーンユニット5とで構成される。前記コントロール
ユニット3内には、サーボモータ6及びこれを制御する
コンピュータ7等の電装部品が内蔵されている。また、
コントロールユニット3の上面には固定治具8が取り付
けられ、更に前面には表示部9が設けられている。タワ
ーユニット4内には前記サーボモータ6の駆動によって
回転するボールネジ10が上下方向に長く配置されると
共に、このボールネジ10にホーンユニット5のナット
部11がボールベアリング(図示せず)を介して取り付
けられている。また、タワーユニット4の前面にはテン
キーによってかしめ条件の数値などを設定する操作パネ
ル19が設けられている。
【0013】上記ホーンユニット5には、図2に示した
ように、ホーン取付ベース5aに可動治具12が着脱可
能に設けられている他、可動治具12の上部にはヒータ
13及び断熱材14が内蔵されており、かしめ時にはヒ
ータ13によって可動治具12を加熱している。また、
ホーンユニット5の中心部には加圧時にワークを動かな
いように固定するためのワーク押え15が配置されてい
る。このワーク押え15には下方向に付勢するスプリン
グ16が巻装され、その先端には各ワークに対応した押
え部材17が着脱可能に取り付けられている。
【0014】次に上記コントロールユニット3による制
御方法を説明する。ホーンユニット5は、コンピュータ
7からの指令信号に基づいて駆動するサーボモータ6に
よって制御されているが、この実施例では図3に示した
ように、可動治具12の移動制限位置として、固定治具
8に載置したワーク18の上方近傍に設定された切替位
置と、それより下方に設定された可動治具12の最大下
降制限位置と、この最大下降制限位置と前記切替位置と
の間に設定された加圧制限位置とが設けられている。
【0015】上記切替位置は、ホーンユニット5の下降
スピードを切り替えるための位置であり、ホームポジシ
ョンから切替位置までの間はサーボモータ6の回転を速
くしてホーンユニット5を素早く移動させ作業時間の短
縮を図る一方、切替位置から最大下降制限位置まではホ
ーンユニット5の下降スピードを低速に抑えて微小圧の
かしめにも対応できるようにしてある。
【0016】また、加圧制限位置は、ワーク18に適正
なかしめ力が得られるように設けたものであり、可動治
具12がかしめ代18aまで達して所定の加圧力が得ら
れた時の位置である。ホーンユニット5の下降は、この
加圧制限位置の検出によって停止される。従って、各ワ
ーク18毎に予め設定した所定の加圧力に応じて加圧制
限位置の高さは異なってくる。また、ワーク18の成形
誤差などによって固定治具8の上に載置した各ワーク1
8の高さにばらつきがあったとしても、可動治具12が
かしめ代18aまで加圧して所定の加圧力に達したとき
には検出信号が出力されてかしめが解除されるので、か
しめ過ぎたりかしめ力が足りなかったりといったことが
ない。なお、上記加圧制限位置は、可動治具12の加圧
力をサーボモータ6が直接に感知することで検出される
が、このように可動治具12の加圧力をサーボモータ6
でトクル制御することにより、最小500g/cm2
分解能100g/cm2 程度までの微小加圧力でワーク
18をかしめることが可能となった。
【0017】一方、最大下降制限位置は、ホーンユニッ
ト5が下降する際の最大ストロークを定めたものであ
る。この最大下降制限位置を定めたことによって、例え
ば固定治具8の上にワーク18を載置し忘れた場合や、
ワーク18に異常が発生して所定の加圧力が得られない
場合に、ホーンユニット5の下降位置を制限すること
で、装置の安全性を図ることができると共に異常を知ら
せることができる。なお、この最大下降制限位置は、上
記加圧制限位置と同一位置となる場合もある。
【0018】図4は、上記コントロールユニット3にお
ける制御のフローチャートを示したものである。この制
御では先ず熱かしめ装置1の電源スイッチを入れて数値
設定画面を表示する(S1)。この数値設定画面には切
替位置、最大下降制限位置、ワーク個数、加圧制限値、
加圧回数のモードが表示されるから、各モードを順番に
選択してテンキーから必要な数値を入力していく。先ず
切替位置を選択し、ホームポジションから切替位置まで
の移動距離K1と、停止時間を設定する(S2)。切替
位置はワーク18の種類によって異なるが、一般には固
定治具8にワーク18を載置した時のワーク18の上方
近傍である。停止時間は切替位置から最大下降制限位置
に移る際の待ち時間であり、切替位置までの移動とそれ
以降では制御方法が異なるので、その切り替えに必要な
時間を考慮して入力する。次いで最大下降制限位置モー
ドを選択し、切替位置から最大下降制限位置までの移動
距離K2と停止時間とを設定する(S3)。停止時間
は、後述する所定の加圧力が得られた時にその位置で加
圧力を保持したまま停止するもので、ワーク18が適性
なかしめ力を得るのに必要かつ十分な時間を設定する。
【0019】上記切替位置および最大下降制限位置を設
定したのち、ワーク個数モードを選択し、ワーク18の
作業個数を設定する(S4)。次いで、加圧制限位置を
決定するための加圧制限値をモード選択して所定の加圧
力を設定する(S5)。最後にワーク18をかしめる際
の加圧回数を設定する(S6)。これら任意に打ち込ん
だ数値はコントロールユニット3前面の表示部9に表示
されると共にコンピュータ7に入力される。各モードの
入力を完了した後、スタートボタンを押すと、上記入力
条件に基づいてサーボモータ6によるホーンユニット5
の駆動制御が開始される(S7)。ホーンユニット5は
切替位置までハイスピードで下降し、その位置で一旦停
止した後徐々に下降し始める。可動治具12がワーク1
8に当接した後更に下降することで次第に加圧力を高め
ていき、所定の加圧力に達した時に検出信号が出力され
てホーンユニット5の下降が止まり、そこで所定時間停
止したのち切替位置もしくはホームポジションまで戻る
(S8)。なお、ワーク18を加圧する際、上記加圧回
数に基づいて可動治具12でワーク18の頭を打つ。
【0020】図5は、上記熱かしめ装置1を用いてエポ
キシ基板20に端子ピン21を取り付ける場合の実施例
を示したものである。かしめ前の端子ピン21は頭部2
1aが長く伸びており、脚部21bを固定治具8に差し
込んで固定する。その上から端子ピン21の頭部21a
にエポキシ基板20のピン開孔を嵌め入れる。このよう
にして、熱かしめ装置1のスタートボタンを押すと、予
め設定された数値に基づいてサーボモータ6が駆動し、
ホーンユニット5が切替位置まで素早く下降する。この
切替位置は、例えば図5に示したように、可動治具12
の先端が端子ピン21の長く伸びた頭部21aの上面す
れすれの位置である。待ち時間を経た後、加圧力制御に
切り換わり、可動治具12で端子ピン21の頭部21a
を加熱しながら徐々に押圧していく。頭部21aを何回
か打つことで次第に潰れて所定の加圧力を検出し、その
加圧制限位置において所定の停止時間だけ加圧力を保持
することで図5に示したような形状に頭部21aが潰
れ、適正なかしめ力が得られる。かしめが終了するとホ
ーンユニット5は切替位置に戻るので、次のワークを固
定治具8にセットする。
【0021】図6はプラスチックレンズを複数枚重ねて
構成したレンズ群30をケーシング31に組み込んでか
しめる場合の例を示したものである。この場合にはケー
シング31にレンズ群30を組み込み、ケーシング31
の下部側を固定治具8の上に載置する。この状態でスタ
ートボタンを押すと、ホーンユニット5はケーシング3
1の上部近傍位置まで素早く移動する。加圧力制御に切
り替わった後、押え部材17でレンズ群30を押さえて
固定すると共に、可動治具12がケーシング31の上端
部を加熱しながら徐々に押圧し、加圧制限位置において
図6に示したようにケーシング31の上縁部31aをレ
ンズ群30の周囲にかしめる。ケーシング31の上部側
のかしめが終了したらケーシング31を上下逆にし、か
しめが終了したケーシング31の上部側を固定治具8の
上に載置し、再び上述の同様の制御によってケーシング
31の下縁部をレンズ群30の周囲にかしめ、レンズ群
30とケーシング31とを一体に固定する。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように、本発明の請求項1
に係る熱かしめ装置によれば、可動治具の駆動をサーボ
モータによって制御し、予め設定した所定の加圧力がワ
ークに加わったことを検出して可動治具の下降を停止す
る加圧制限位置を設けたから、微小の加圧力による制御
が可能となり、小型プラスチック成形品等の熱かしめの
適用範囲が広くなる他、ワークに成形誤差などがあって
もワークを常に一定の加圧力でかしめられるから、かし
め過ぎたりかしめ不足になるといったことがなく品質の
均一化を図ることができる。
【0023】また、本発明の請求項2に係る熱かしめ装
置によれば、加圧制限位置とは別に可動治具の最大下降
制限位置を設けたので、ワークのトラブル等で所定の加
圧力を得られなくても装置の安全性が確保されることに
なる。
【0024】更に、本発明の請求項3に係る熱かしめ装
置によれば、固定治具に載置したワークの上方近傍位置
までと、それより下方の加圧制限位置までとで可動治具
が下降する際の移動スピードを異ならせ、前者での移動
スピードを速く、後者での移動スピードを遅く設定した
ので、かしめ作業に要する時間の短縮を図ることのでき
る。

  1. 【請求項1】 本体部と、この本体部に上下動可能に取
    り付けられたヒータ付きの可動治具と、前記本体部側に
    設けられた固定治具とを備え、固定治具に載置したワー
    ク上に可動治具を下降させて加圧する熱かしめ装置にお
    いて、 上記可動治具の駆動をサーボモータによって制御し、予
    め設定した所定の加圧力がワークに加わったことを検出
    して可動治具の下降を停止する加圧制限位置を設けたこ
    とを特徴とする熱かしめ装置。

    り下方の加圧制限位置までとで可動治具が下降する際の
    移動スピードを異ならせ、前者での移動スピードを速
    く、後者での移動スピードを遅く設定したことを特徴と
