本発明は、少なくとも1個の転回可能及び/又は移動可能な中間成形型片を具えた成形機において、好ましくはプラスチック製の少なくとも2個の部分からなる組み合わせ物品を、成形し組み合わせる方法及び装置に関するものである。

転回可能な中間成形型片を具える成形機内でプラスチックの部品を組み合わせ成形するための装置及び方法は既知である。即ち、本件出願人の国際特許出願PCT/DK98/00034号明細書は、組み合わせプラスチック物品を成形する場合に、複数コンポーネントの成形にいわゆるスタック成形技術を用いることができる転回可能な中間成形型片について開示したものである。

コアの形状又は複雑な幾何学形状のためにキャビティによって通常成形することのできないプラスチック物品については、射出成形で2個の物品半部を普通に成形し、その後成形装置の外部でそれらを組み合わせていた。

これまでに既知の、このような物品を成形し組み合わせるための方法及び装置は、組み合わせ及び溶着装置を用い、例えば、種々のブロー成形技術を用いる以外の他の方法で所望の幾何学形状を得ることができなかったキャビティでこれら物品を作成するものであった。

本発明による方法及び装置は、既知の組み合わせ技術と同様に、上記の技術を一体化することを意図したものだが、本発明では1個の同じ成形機を用いるため、生産性を極めて向上させることができる。

本発明による方法は、2個の転回可能な中間成形型片とコアとの間にキャビティを生ずる成形機の前記2個の中間成形型片の相互の境界面のうち少なくと一方で、成形機を閉じた時成形機内で成形される少なくとも2個の部分物品を組み合わせることを特徴とするものである。

本発明による方法及び装置の利点についてのより詳細な説明は、以下の説明及び図面から明らかとなるであろう。
図1は、本発明による方法を実行するための成形機の断面図である。左側に示されているのは、湯道を仕立てた入口2を具える固定成形型部分1であり、この入口2は、コア3を通して材料をさらに先へ導くものである。この固定成形型部分1は、図面では、転回可能な中間の2個の成形型片6のキャビティ5に、入口2及びコア3を通じて第1部分物品4を成形した直後の開放状態を示す。同時に、転回可能な中間の2個の成形型片6の右側の部分6′のキャビティ7内に、入口2′及びコア3′を仕立てた可動成形型部分9により供給された材料により他方の第2部分物品8が成形した状態を示す。図面において、2個の部分物品4及び8は、2個の同一な半球形状のシェルであり、これは後に組み合わせて中空のボールにすることを意図したものである。この組み合わせは、各部分物品4及び8上の最外側境界面10及び11を転回可能な中間成形型片から突出させることにより容易なものとなることに注目されたい。このことは、固定成形型部分1及び可動成形型部分9のそれぞれにおいて同様のアンダーカット12及び12′を設けることにより達成される。図面から分かるように、一般的には方形の断面を有する転回可能な中間成形型片6及び6′の双方の隅角部を切除してあるため、成形機を僅かに開くだけで転回し得るようになっている。最後に説明すると、この成形機が1サイクル当り合計6個の組み合わせ物品を製造するよう設計する場合には、図面に示した成形機と同一断面形状を有するものを、例えば、図示の下方に5箇所に配置することができる。

図2において同じ断面を示すが、ここでは、2個の転回可能な中間成形型片6及び6′は双方ともそれぞれ矢印の方向に90度転回しており、これにより、2個の部分物品4及び8は図中の最も高い位置に達している。ここで、境界面10及び11のそれぞれに移動可能な加熱ユニット13から熱を加える。この間、成形機は、好適には閉じた状態にし、固定成形型部分1及び可動成形型部分9のそれぞれの2個の入口2及び2′並びにコア3及び3′により、次の2個の部分物品4′及び8′を成形するのが好ましい。

図3は同じ断面を示すが、ここでは、2個の転回可能な中間成形型片6及び6′の双方ともそれぞれ矢印の方向にさらに90度転回している。成形機は、ここでは開いた状態であるが、閉じる方向に動いており、2個の部分物品4及び8の、2個のそれぞれ加熱した境界面10及び11を互いに接近させ、その後共に溶着させる。この時点で、次の2個の部分物品4′及び8′が、図中の最も高い位置にあり、ここでこれら物品のそれぞれの境界面10′及び11′を移動可能な加熱ユニット13により加熱する。最終的には、第3の組の部分物品4″及び8″を成形キャビティ5″及び7″内に成形し、双方の部分物品が完成したらこれらをそれぞれのコア3及び3′から転回させる準備ができる。

図4では、2個の転回可能な中間成形型片6及び6′はさらにまた90度転回している。ここで、成形機は閉じた状態であり、2個の部分物品4及び8は互いに溶着した完成物品である中空のボール4+8となっており、図ではこの中空のボールを用具から取り出そうとしている。生じ得る余剰材料14は、都合の良いことに、ボールシェルの内側にしか存在しない点に注目されたい。次の2個の部分物品4′及び8′は、閉じた状態の成形型片でこれら部材の境界面10′及び11′を溶着されているところが示されており、第3の組の部分物品4″及び8″では、それぞれの境界面10″及び11″を移動可能な加熱ユニット13により加熱している。最終的には第4の組の部分物品4′′′及び8′′′を、それぞれのコア3及び3′で成形する。

このようにして2個の転回可能な中間成形型片6及び6′による第1シーケンスが終了する。次の90度の転回により新しい成形―組み合わせサイクルが開始するが、最初の時点で転回可能な中間成形型片6及び6′のそれぞれの4つの側面の全てが完全に機能していることになる。その後、部分物品の継続的な成形及びその組み合わせを同じ手順に従って連続生産することができる。

これら図面に示したのは、本発明の方法及び装置をいかにして実現することができるかということの単なる1つの例に過ぎない。しかし、これにより本発明の基本的な方法は充分に示されているであろう。

しかし、本発明による他の実施例の方法及び装置を示すこともできる。つまり、組み合わせ後に2個の部品物品が、ボトル又は他の種類の容器を生ずるようにできる。このことは、図面に示したキャビティの代わりに、ボトル形状を形成し得る外向き開放型コア部片を有する転回可能な中間成形型片を用いることにより実現することができる。同様にして、本発明の方法によれば、複雑な幾何学形状を有するより技術的物品を好適に製造することができ、このことは、あらゆる観点において成形物品の設計についての全く新しい可能性を提供するものであることが分かるだろう。

図面に示した熱を加える工程は、例えば、材料、物品の設計又は移動速度が許容するのであれば回避することができることにも注意されたい。この用なケースとしては、例えば、部分物品を、スナップ又はクリック作用のような純粋に機械的な組立のみにより組立てればよい場合がある。例えば、移動中に熱を加える工程に代えて、部分物品に設けるべき電子部品、流体又は金属部分のような他のものを供給することができる。

Claims (7)

  1. 少なくとも1個の転回可能及び/又は移動可能な中間成形型片(6)を有する成形機によって、プラスチック製の、少なくとも2個の部分物品(4)及び(8)よりなる組み合わせ物品(4+8)を成形し組み合わせる方法において、
    前記少なくとも1個の中間成形型片(6)は、2個の中間成形型片(6,6′)を設けるものとし、これら2個の転回可能な中間成形型片(6,6′)とコア(3,3′)との間にキャビティ(5,7)を生ずる成形機の前記2個の中間成形型片(6,6′)の相互の境界面のうち少なくとも一方で、成形機を閉じた時に、成形機内で成形される物品の少なくとも2個の部分物品(4,8)を組み合わせることを特徴とする組み合わせ物品の成形及び組み合わせ方法。
  2. 物品を成形する前記成形機は、個別に部分物品(4)及び(8)を成形する2個の転回可能な中間成形型片(6)及び(6′)を有し、これら2個の中間成形型片(6)及び(6′)間の接触面で部品物品を完成物品に連続的に組み合わせるとともに、それと同時に新たな部分物品(4″)及び(8″)を前記中間成形型片の2個の互いに背反する側面で成形する請求項1に記載の方法。
  3. 物品を成形する成形機は、2個の転回可能な中間成形型片(6)及び(6′)を有し、これら中間成形型片がそれぞれ互いに逆方向に90°ずつ段階的に転回することにより、成形機の閉じる動作の方向に対して90°の角度をなす位置で、境界面(10,11)に対して、完成物品として組み合わせるための付加的な加熱ができるようにした請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
  4. 物品を成形する前記成形機は、両側のコア(3,3′)間に2個の転回可能な中間成形型片(6)及び(6′)を配置した3層構造のサンドイッチ成形型として構成、転回可能な2個の中間成形型片をそれぞれ90°ずつ段階的に転回させることにより、成形機が閉じている間に、成形機の閉じる方向に直交する位置で、部分物品の境界(10,11)に熱を加える、又は部分物品に設けるべき他のもの供給することができ、このことにより、部分物品を完成物品に組み合わせると同時に新しい部分物品の成形を行うことができるようにした請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
  5. 成形機を閉じる位置から、さらに90°回転した位置で、完成した物品をイジェクト/取り出しを行って、サイクル時間を節約する請求項1乃至のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
  6. 転回可能な中間成形型片(6)及び(6′)を各サイクル中に360°転回させる請求項1乃至のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
  7. 成型機閉じる位置いたる前の段階で、この閉じる位置に対して90°の角度をなす位置において、電子部品、流体又は金属部品とする部分物品に設けるべき他のものを供給する請求項に記載の方法。
