Abstract
Description
本発明の水酸化リチウムの製造方法は、リチウム-含有廃液から硫酸リチウムを得るステップと、前記硫酸リチウムと水酸化カルシウムを反応させて水酸化リチウムを得るステップと、を含み、前記リチウム-含有廃液から得られた硫酸リチウムはpH6以下であることを特徴とする。
本発明の水酸化リチウムの製造方法は、リチウム-含有廃液から硫酸リチウムを得るステップを含む。
本発明の水酸化リチウムの製造方法は、前記硫酸リチウムと水酸化カルシウムを反応させて水酸化リチウムを得るステップを含む。
本発明の水酸化リチウムの製造方法において、リチウム-含有廃液は、廃リチウム二次電池から得たものを含んでもよく、前記リチウム-含有廃液を得るために、廃リチウム二次電池を直ちに破砕した後、熱処理する工程をさらに含んでもよい。
廃リチウム二次電池から分離した正極材を破砕し、粉砕処理した。上記で得られた粉末を硫酸溶液で6時間以上反応させた後、Liが含まれた浸出液を得た。前記Liが含まれた浸出液から、溶媒抽出および沈殿法によりマンガン、コバルト、ニッケルを分離して回収した後、リチウム-含有廃液を得た。
硫酸リチウム一水和物と脱イオン水(脱塩水)を撹拌して硫酸リチウム水溶液を得た。前記硫酸リチウム水溶液1000mLに添加剤として水酸化バリウム13.8gを添加した後、撹拌して反応させ、これを濾過した。この際、水酸化バリウムは硫酸リチウムと等モル数で投入した。濾過後、濾液を150~200℃で噴霧乾燥して水酸化リチウム粉末を得た。
硫酸リチウム一水和物と脱イオン水(脱塩水)を撹拌して硫酸リチウム水溶液を得た。前記硫酸リチウム水溶液1000mLに、水酸化カルシウムの溶解性を向上させるためにグリセリンを添加した後、添加剤として水酸化カルシウム粉末4.0gを添加して撹拌し、生成された沈殿物を分離した。沈殿物が除去された濾液からグリセリンを除去するために、290℃以上の温度で噴霧乾燥して水酸化リチウム粉末を得た。
前記実施例において、pH6.5の硫酸リチウム水溶液を使用したことを除き、何れも実施例と同一の条件で水酸化リチウム粉末を製造した。
本実験例では、硫酸リチウムとの反応のために添加される添加剤の種類による、水酸化リチウムの純度および収率、並びに硫酸リチウムと添加剤の反応性を評価した後、その結果を下記表1に示した。
本実験例では、硫酸リチウムのpH条件による、水酸化リチウムの純度および収率、並びに硫酸リチウムと添加剤の反応性を評価した後、その結果を下記表2に示した。
◎:水酸化リチウムの純度が99.9%以上である場合
○:水酸化リチウムの純度が98.0~99.8%である場合
△:水酸化リチウムの純度が98.0%未満である場合
<収率評価基準>
◎:水酸化リチウムの収率が95.0%を超える場合
○:水酸化リチウムの収率が75.0~95.0%である場合
△:水酸化リチウムの収率が75%未満である場合
<反応性評価基準>
◎:反応時間4時間で95%を超える収率
○:反応時間4時間で75~95%の収率
△:反応時間4時間で75%未満の収率
前記表1および2を参照すると、添加剤として水酸化バリウムを使用した比較例1は、反応時間が長くて溶液中にBaが残存する問題が発生し、グリセリンを添加した比較例2は、反応後に生成されたCaSO4が、添加されたグリセロールに一部溶解されてCaが残存する問題が発生して、比較例1および2は、何れも水酸化リチウムの純度および収率が低下する問題が発生することが確認できた。一方、比較例3のようにpH6.5以上である場合には、Ca(OH)2が溶けにくいため、硫酸リチウムと水酸化カルシウムの反応性が急激に減少して水酸化リチウムの収率が減少し、未反応物により水酸化リチウムの純度も低下したことが確認できた。
Claims (7)
- リチウム-含有廃液から硫酸リチウムを得るステップと、
前記硫酸リチウムと水酸化カルシウムを反応させて水酸化リチウムを得るステップと、を含み、
前記リチウム-含有廃液から得られた硫酸リチウムはpH6以下である、水酸化リチウムの製造方法。 - 前記水酸化リチウムを得るステップで、溶媒を添加しないことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の水酸化リチウムの製造方法。
- 前記溶媒がグリセリンを含む、請求項2に記載の水酸化リチウムの製造方法。
- 上記で得られた水酸化リチウムを沈殿剤により沈殿させて水酸化リチウム粉末を得るステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の水酸化リチウムの製造方法。
- 前記沈殿剤がアルコールであることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の水酸化リチウムの製造方法。
- 前記硫酸リチウムを得るステップの前に、前記リチウム-含有廃液から、マンガン、ニッケル、およびコバルトから選択される1種以上の金属塩を回収する一つ以上のステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の水酸化リチウムの製造方法。
- 前記金属塩が回収されたリチウム-含有廃液を蒸発濃縮してから冷却結晶化して硫酸ナトリウム(Na2SO4)を除去するステップをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の水酸化リチウムの製造方法。
