Description
多数の気孔を有する多孔性高分子基材;
前記多孔性高分子基材の少なくとも一面上に形成されており、多数の無機物粒子及び前記無機物粒子の表面の一部または全部に位置して前記無機物粒子同士の間を連結及び固定させるバインダー高分子を含む多孔性コーティング層;並びに
前記多孔性コーティング層の表面にコーティングされており、前記無機物粒子の直径対比0.8〜3倍の直径を有する第1接着性樹脂粒子及び前記無機物粒子の直径対比0.2〜0.6倍の直径を有する第2接着性樹脂粒子を含み、前記第1接着性樹脂粒子と前記第2接着性樹脂粒子との総重量に対する第1接着性樹脂粒子の重量が30〜90%である接着層;
を備えた、電気化学素子用セパレータに関する。
アノード活物質として人造黒鉛、導電材としてカーボンブラック、分散剤としてカルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)、バインダーとしてポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)を95.8:1:1.2:2の重量比で水と混合してアノードスラリーを製造した。前記アノードスラリーを50μmの厚さで銅ホイル(Cu−foil)上にコーティングして薄い極板の形態にした後、135℃で3時間以上乾燥させた後、圧延(pressing)してアノードを製造した。
カソード活物質としてLiCoO2、導電材としてカーボンブラック、バインダーとしてポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)を96:2:2の重量比でN−メチル−2−ピロリドン(NMP)に添加し混合してカソードスラリーを製造した。製造されたカソードスラリーをカソード集電体としての20μm厚さのアルミニウムホイルに3.1mAh/cm2の容量でコーティングしてカソードを製造した。
常温でカルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)を水に溶解させた溶液にAl2O3無機物粒子(住友製、AES11、粒子の大きさ500nm)を添加し撹拌して均一な分散スラリーを調製した。このとき、無機物粒子及びCMCの使用量を95:5(重量比)にした。その後、前記分散スラリーにバインダー高分子としてアクリル系バインダーであるブチルアクリレートとエチルヘキシルアクリレートとの共重合体(トーヨーケム製、CSB130)を添加して多孔性コーティング層用スラリーを製造した。このとき、CMC及びアクリル系バインダーの使用量は98:5(重量比)であった。ドクターブレードを用いて前記多孔性コーティング層用スラリーをポリエチレン多孔性高分子基材(旭化成製、ND509)の一面に塗布し乾燥して多孔性コーティング層が形成された多孔性高分子基材を調製した。多孔性コーティング層の厚さは2μmであった。
上記のように製造された、多孔性高分子基材上に形成された多孔性コーティング層の表面に、接着層形成用スラリーを塗布及び乾燥して接着層を形成した。前記接着層は以下のようにして調製した。常温で、第1接着性樹脂粒子としてメチルメタクリレートとエチルヘキシルアクリレートとの共重合体(日本ゼオン製、LP17、粒子の大きさ500nm)、第2接着性樹脂粒子としてブチルアクリレートとエチルヘキシルアクリレートとの共重合体(トーヨーケム製、CSB130、粒子の大きさ150nm)を、水に均一に分散させて接着層形成用スラリーを調製した。前記第1接着性樹脂粒子及び第2接着性樹脂粒子の使用量は85:15(重量比)にした。
4)セパレータと電極との接着
接着層スラリーとして第1接着性樹脂粒子のみを使用したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
接着層スラリーとして第2接着性樹脂粒子のみを使用したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
無機物粒子の直径、第1接着性樹脂粒子と第2接着性樹脂粒子の大きさ及び含量(使用量)を下記表2のように制御したことを除き、実施例1と同じ方法でセパレータを製造した。
無機物粒子、接着性樹脂粒子の直径はレーザー回折法(Microtrac MT 3000)を用いて測定した。
抵抗はセパレータを電解液に含浸させたときの抵抗値であり、1M LiBF4−プロピレンカーボネート/エチレンカーボネート(重量比1:1)電解液を用いて20℃で交流法で測定した。
電極組立体を電解液に含浸させたときの抵抗値であり、1M LiBF4−プロピレンカーボネート/エチレンカーボネート(重量比1:1)電解液を用いて20℃で交流法で測定した。
実施例1−1)と同じ方法でアノードを製造し、15mm×100mmの大きさで裁断した。実施例1〜4及び比較例1〜7で製造されたセパレータを15mm×100mmの大きさで裁断した。セパレータとアノードとを重ねた後、100μmのPETフィルムの間に挟み、平板プレスを用いて接着させた。このとき、平板プレスは90℃、8.5MPaの圧力の条件で1秒間使用された。接着されたセパレータとアノードとの端部をUTM装備(LLOYD Instrument LF Plus)に取り付けた後、測定速度300mm/minで180゜で力を加えてアノードとアノードに対向する接着層とが剥離するのに必要な力を測定した。

- 多数の気孔を有する多孔性高分子基材;
前記多孔性高分子基材の少なくとも一面上に形成されており、多数の無機物粒子及び前記無機物粒子の表面の一部または全部に位置して前記無機物粒子同士の間を連結及び固定させるバインダー高分子を含む多孔性コーティング層;並びに
前記多孔性コーティング層の表面にコーティングされており、前記無機物粒子の直径対比0.8〜3倍の直径を有する第1接着性樹脂粒子及び前記無機物粒子の直径対比0.2〜0.6倍の直径を有する第2接着性樹脂粒子を含み、前記第1接着性樹脂粒子と前記第2接着性樹脂粒子との総重量に対する第1接着性樹脂粒子の重量が30〜90%である接着層;

- 第1接着性樹脂粒子と第2接着性樹脂粒子との総重量に対する第1接着性樹脂粒子の重量が50〜85%である、請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載の電気化学素子用セパレータ。
- 前記無機物粒子が、BaTiO3、Pb(ZrxTi1−x)O3(PZT、0<x<1)、Pb1−xLaxZr1−yTiyO3(PLZT、0<x<1、0<y<1)、(1−x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3−xPbTiO3(PMNPT、0<x<1)、ハフニア(HfO2)、SrTiO3、SnO2、CeO2、MgO、NiO、CaO、ZnO、ZrO2、Y2O3、Al2O3、AlO(OH)、TiO2及びSiCからなる群より選択されたいずれか1つまたはこれらのうち2種以上の混合物を含む、請求項1乃至6のいずれかに記載の電気化学素子用セパレータ。
- 前記多孔性コーティング層の厚さが1μm〜10μmである、請求項1乃至7のいずれかに記載の電気化学素子用セパレータ。
- 前記接着層の厚さが0.5μm〜3μmである、請求項1乃至8のいずれかに記載の電気化学素子用セパレータ。
- カソード、アノード、及び前記カソードとアノードとの間に介在されたセパレータを含む電気化学素子において、前記セパレータが請求項1〜請求項9のうちいずれか一項に記載のセパレータである、電気化学素子。
- 前記電気化学素子がリチウム二次電池である、請求項10に記載の電気化学素子。
