Abstract
Description
本米国特許出願は、参照により全内容が本明細書に組み込まれている、2013年9月11日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/876,352号明細書、並びに2014年2月26日に出願された米国特許出願第14/190,812号明細書の利益及び優先権を主張するものである。
本発明の一実施形態は、1つ以上のバーチャルリアリティアーク溶接(VRAW)システムを提供する。各システムは、プログラマブルプロセッサベースのサブシステムと、プログラマブルプロセッサベースのサブシステムに作用的に接続された空間追跡装置と、空間追跡装置によって空間追跡されることが可能な少なくとも1つの模造溶接工具と、プログラマブルプロセッサベースのサブシステムに作用的に接続された少なくとも1つのディスプレイ装置と、を有する。本システムは、バーチャルリアリティ空間において、リアルタイム溶融金属流動性及び熱放散特性を有する溶接だまりを模擬することが可能である。本システムは又、模擬溶接だまりをディスプレイ装置上にリアルタイム表示することが可能である。模擬溶接だまりのリアルタイム溶融金属流動性及び熱放散特性は、模造溶接工具が表示されているときに、そのユーザに対してリアルタイム視覚フィードバックを与えることにより、リアルタイム視覚フィードバックに応じてユーザが溶接技術をリアルタイムで調節したり維持したりすることを可能にする(即ち、ユーザが溶接を正しく習得することを支援する)。表示される溶接だまりは、ユーザの溶接技術並びに選択されている溶接プロセス及びパラメータに基づいて、現実世界において形成されるであろう溶接だまりを表す。たまり(例えば、形状、色、スラグ、サイズ、積み重なった10セント硬貨(stacked dimes))を閲覧することにより、ユーザは、良好な溶接を行えるように自分の技術を修正することが可能であり、行われている溶接のタイプを特定することが可能である。たまりの形状は、ガン又はスティックの動きに応答する。本明細書では、「リアルタイム」という用語は、模擬環境において、時間的に、ユーザが現実世界の溶接シナリオであれば知覚及び体感するであろう様式と同じ様式で知覚及び体感することを意味する。更に、溶接だまりは、重力を含む物理環境の作用に応答することにより、ユーザが、頭上溶接及び様々なパイプ溶接角度(例えば、1G、2G、5G、6G)を含む様々な体勢での溶接を実際的に練習することを可能にする。本システムは更に、溶接訓練生に対する模擬バーチャルリアリティ溶接セッションに関連するデータを保存することが可能である。
本明細書において上述されたとおり、溶接訓練生が、バーチャルリアリティ溶接システム上で、様々なタイプの溶接プロセス及び溶接試片について訓練を行うことが可能であり、その訓練に関連する訓練生訓練データが、バーチャルリアリティ溶接システム上で生成及び記憶されることが可能である。溶接訓練生に対するバーチャルリアリティ溶接訓練セッション(バーチャル溶接プロセス)の間に、膨大な量のデータが生成可能である。溶接指導者は、複数のクラスにおいて、訓練のレベルが様々である複数の訓練生を担当する場合、各訓練生の習熟度を追跡し、その訓練生に対して適切なフィードバックを行うことが非常に困難であることがわかるであろう。そこで、溶接指導者及び訓練生がバーチャルリアリティ溶接環境での指導及び習得に関連するデータを管理することを支援するシステム及び方法を提供することが望ましい。

Claims (15)
- 習得管理システムであって、
模造溶接工具及び溶接クーポンを含むバーチャルリアリティ溶接システムであって、該バーチャルリアリティ溶接システムは、訓練生が該模造溶接工具を用いて該溶接クーポンにバーチャル溶接プロセスを実施することに対する応答として訓練生訓練データを生成するように構成されている、バーチャルリアリティ溶接システムと、
前記訓練生訓練データを受け取って格納するように構成されたデータベースサーバシステムと、
外部通信インフラストラクチャと、
習得管理ソフトウェアアプリケーション(LMSA)がインストールされたパーソナルコンピュータと、
を含み、
前記習得管理ソフトウェアアプリケーション(LMSA)は、前記パーソナルコンピュータ上で実行されて、
有線方式及び無線方式のうちの少なくとも一方で、前記訓練生訓練データを前記バーチャルリアリティ溶接システムから前記パーソナルコンピュータにダウンロードすることと、
前記外部通信インフラストラクチャを介して、前記訓練生訓練データを前記パーソナルコンピュータから前記データベースサーバシステムにアップロードすることと、
前記外部通信インフラストラクチャを介して、前記訓練生訓練データを前記データベースサーバシステムから前記パーソナルコンピュータにダウンロードすることと、
のそれぞれを実施するように構成された実行可能なコンピュータ命令を含み、
前記訓練生訓練データは、前記訓練生による前記バーチャル溶接プロセスのパフォーマンスに関する情報を含み、
前記訓練生訓練データは、前記バーチャルリアリティ溶接システムを用いて前記訓練生により実施されるシミュレーション破壊検査の結果に関する情報を含む、習得管理システム。 - 前記外部通信インフラストラクチャは、携帯電話通信網、WiFi通信網、衛星通信網及びインターネットのうちの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項1に記載の習得管理システム。
