Claims (15)
- 磁気テープ処理システムを備えるシステムであって、
前記磁気テープ処理システムは、磁気テープに書き込みを行うための読み取り/書き込みヘッドを備え、
前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドは、前記磁気テープの上面に少なくとも40エルステッド/ナノメートルの書き込みヘッド磁界勾配を提供し、及び、8000トラック/インチより大きいトラック密度、440キロビット/インチより大きいビット密度、及び70未満のアスペクト比を提供することからなる、システム。 - 前記磁気テープに書き込みを行うために、前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドの下面と前記磁気テープの前記上面との間の間隔が、0ナノメートル〜100ナノメートルの範囲内にある、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記磁気テープの平均粗さは6ナノメートル未満であり、前記磁気テープの二乗平均平方根粗さは18ナノメートル未満であり、前記磁気テープのある基準の長さにおける粗面のプロファイルの中で上位5番目までの最大高さの平均は30ナノメートル未満である、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記磁気テープが、前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドの下面に接触して前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドをクリーニングするための研磨リーダーを備える、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記磁気テープ処理システムは、4ニュートン未満のテープ張力を加える、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記磁気テープ処理システムは、パーシャルレスポンス最尤チャネル、クラスIVパーシャルレスポンスチャネル、最尤検出器チャネル、及び最小密度パリティコードチャネルのうちの少なくとも1つを備えるチャネルを提供する、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドは、前記磁気テープの前記上面からデータを読み取るように構成された磁気抵抗(MR)読み取り素子を備える、請求項1のシステム。
- 前記磁気テープは、スパッターされた磁気媒体テープである、請求項1のシステム。
- 磁気テープ処理システムを備えるデータ記憶システムであって、
前記磁気テープ処理システムが、磁気テープの温度を上げて、前記磁気テープの保磁力を小さくして前記磁気テープに書き込むための熱アシスト読み取り/書き込みヘッドを備えることからなる、データ記憶システム。 - 前記磁気テープ処理システムは、8000トラック/インチより大きいトラック密度、440キロビット/インチより大きいビット密度、及び70未満のアスペクト比を提供する、請求項9のデータ記憶システム。
- 前記熱アシスト読み取り/書き込みヘッドは、前記磁気テープの上面からデータを読み取るように構成された磁気抵抗(MR)読み取り素子を備える、請求項9のデータ記憶システム。
- 前記磁気テープの平均粗さは6ナノメートル未満であり、前記磁気テープの二乗平均平方根粗さは18ナノメートル未満であり、前記磁気テープのある基準の長さにおける粗面のプロファイルの中で上位5番目までの最大高さの平均が30ナノメートル未満である、請求項9のデータ記憶システム。
- 磁気テープの上面と読み取り/書き込みヘッドの下面との間に0ナノメートル〜100ナノメートルの範囲内の間隔をあけるステップと、

前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドを用いて前記磁気テープに書き込みを行うステップ
を含む方法。 - 前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドは、8000トラック/インチより大きいトラック密度、440キロビット/インチより大きいビット密度、及び70未満のアスペクト比を提供する、請求項13の方法。
- 前記読み取り/書き込みヘッドは、前記磁気テープの前記上面からデータを読み取るように構成された磁気抵抗(MR)読み取り素子を備える、請求項13の方法。
