Description
するサスペンションとを備えることが好ましく、本発明に係るハードディスク装置は、上
記HGAと、媒体対向面に対向する磁気記録媒体とを備えることが好ましい。これにより、高周波の記録周波数に対応した熱アシスト磁気記録を行うハードディスク装置が得られる。

Claims (7)
- 磁気記録媒体に対向する媒体対向面と、
主磁極の先端から磁気記録媒体までの距離が、前記媒体対向面から磁気記録媒体までの距離よりも大きく設定される磁気記録素子と、
熱アシスト用の光が入射される光導波路の第一コアと、
前記第一コアの第一光出射面と前記媒体対向面との間に位置し、前記磁気記録媒体側に第二光出射面を有する光導波路の第二コアと、
を備え、
前記第二コアは、前記第一コア側から前記主磁極側へ向かう方向に沿って、実効的な屈折率が増加し、
前記第一コアに入射した前記熱アシスト用の光に照射されるように前記第二光出射面に近接場光発生部が設けられており、
前記近接場光発生部は、金属からなる板状部材であり、
前記第一光出射面内の光強度分布中心の前記第二光出射面を含む基準平面への正射影位置と前記主磁極の先端の中心の前記基準平面への正射影位置との間の距離は、前記第二光出射面内の光強度分布中心と前記主磁極の先端の中心の前記基準平面への正射影位置との間の距離よりも大きく、
前記主磁極の先端の中心の前記基準平面への正射影位置は、前記第二光出射面内にあることを特徴とする熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 前記第二コアは、屈折率の異なる二種類の材料を交互に積層して形成したものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。
- 磁気記録媒体に対向する媒体対向面と、
主磁極の先端から磁気記録媒体までの距離が、前記媒体対向面から磁気記録媒体までの距離よりも大きく設定される磁気記録素子と、
熱アシスト用の光が入射される光導波路の第一コアと、
前記第一コアの第一光出射面と前記媒体対向面との間に位置し、前記磁気記録媒体側に第二光出射面を有する光導波路の第二コアと、
を備え、
前記第一コアは、前記主磁極のトラック幅方向に交差する側面に沿って延びており、かつ、前記主磁極をトラック幅方向に貫く直線と交差しており、
前記第一光出射面内の光強度分布中心の前記第二光出射面を含む基準平面への正射影位置と、前記主磁極の先端の中心の前記基準平面への正射影位置との間の距離は、
前記第二光出射面内の光強度分布中心と、前記主磁極の先端の中心の前記基準平面への正射影位置との間の距離よりも大きく、
前記主磁極の先端の中心の前記基準平面への正射影位置は、前記第二光出射面内にあることを特徴とする熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 前記第一コアは、前記主磁極のトラック幅方向に交差する両側面に沿って延びていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。
- 前記第一コアに入射した前記熱アシスト用の光に照射されるように前記第二光出射面に近接場光発生部が設けられており、
前記近接場光発生部は、金属からなる板状部材であることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッドと、
前記熱アシスト磁気ヘッドを支持するサスペンションと、
を備えたヘッドジンバルアセンブリ。 - 請求項6に記載のヘッドジンバルアセンブリと、
前記媒体対向面に対向する前記磁気記録媒体と、
を備えたハードディスク装置。
