Abstract
Description
水分散性であり、かつ前記水分散性ポリマーと混和性のある又は水分散性該ポリマーに結合するエチレン性不飽和化合物であって、インクと共有結合を形成することができるエチレン性不飽和化合物と、
塗料を支持体に結合するのに適した架橋剤と、
を含む支持体用プライマレス塗料を提供する。
(1) 水分散性ポリマーであるバインダーと、
水分散性であり、かつ別の化合物として組成物に提供される、及び/又は、該水分散性ポリマーの骨格の一部及び/若しくは側鎖を形成するエチレン性不飽和化合物であって、
インクと共有結合を結合することができるエチレン性不飽和化合物と、
フィルム表面上の官能基を塗装組成物の成分中の官能基と結合させ、塗料を支持体に結合するのに適した架橋剤と、
を含む支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(2) 前記エチレン性不飽和化合物が、水分散性ポリマーの骨格の一部及び/又は側鎖を形成するものである前記(1)記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(3) 前記架橋剤が、カルボジイミド架橋剤又はアジリジン架橋剤である前記(1)又は(2)に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(4) 水分散性ポリマーであるバインダーと、
水分散性であり、かつ別の化合物として組成物に提供される、及び/又は、該水分散性ポリマーの骨格の一部及び/若しくは側鎖を形成するエチレン性不飽和化合物であって、
インクと共有結合を結合することができるエチレン性不飽和化合物と、
支持体表面及び塗装組成物の成分の両方で結合させる、カルボジイミド架橋剤又はアジリジン架橋剤のいずれか一方であり、これは塗料を支持体に効果的に密着及び結合するのに適した架橋剤と、
を含む支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(5) 前記水分散性ポリマーが、水分散性アクリレート類、ウレタン類、ウレタンアクリレート類、スチレンブタジエン/無水マレイン酸共重合体及びこれらの混合物から選択される前記(1)〜(4)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(6) 前記水分散性ポリマーが、水分散性アクリレート類である前記(1)〜(5)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(7) 前記水分散性ポリマーが、ポリウレタンアクリレート類を含むものである前記(1)〜(6)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(8) 前記効果的な密着が、高温及び低温で非常に湿った状態に曝し、次いで引掻き試験を行なって決定されたものである前記(1)〜(7)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(9) 前記高温が90℃以上及び低温が0℃付近である前記(8)に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(10) 前記架橋剤は、支持体の表面と塗料組成物の組成において、カルボキシル基、水酸基又はアミノ官能基の間で相互作用するものである前記(1)〜(9)の何れか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(12) 前記化学的相互作用は、前記エチレン性不飽和化合物、前記架橋剤及びポリマーを含む3方向相互作用であり、これによりインクの受容及びその後の硬化のために、フィルム表面上にプレポリマーが効果的に形成される、前記(1)〜(11)の何れか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(13) さらに塗料を支持体に結合させ、効果的に密着させ、前記架橋剤が効果的に耐水性もある支持体を提供する、前記(1)〜(12)の何れか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(14) 前記架橋剤は、支持体に塗料を結合させ、効果的に密着させるための量を塗料組成物中に提供されている、前記(1)〜(13)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(15) 前記架橋剤の量は、(a)前記架橋剤自体の性質;(b)加水分解に対する架橋剤の能力;(c)エチレン性不飽和化合物との架橋剤の反応性の性質;(d)架橋剤、
エチレン性不飽和化合物とポリマーとの間で任意に調整する3方向相互作用の性質;(e)ポリマー中の酸官能性のレベルでの組成物中の材料の官能性;に関し、これらから1種以上選択される前記(1)〜(14)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(16) 前記架橋剤は、水溶性ポリマーの架橋に必要な化学量論的な量を超える量で存在する、前記(14)又は(15)記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(17) 前記架橋剤は、塗料組成物中、1〜10重量%である、前記(1)〜(16)のいずれか1項記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(18) 前記架橋剤は、塗料組成物中、2〜5重量%である、前記(17)項記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(19) 最終製品における結合が、架橋剤とエチレン性不飽和化合物との間に起こる前記(1)〜(18)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(20) 印刷に適する、平滑なフィルムが形成されたインク受容面を提供することができる前記(1)〜(19)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(22) 塗料組成物の乾燥後、該エチレン性不飽和化合物が2〜90重量%の量で存在する前記(1)〜(21)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(23) 前記架橋剤は、塗料を支持体に効果的に密着及び結合させるため組成物にカルボジイミド架橋剤の量を効果的に配合したものである前記(1)〜(22)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(24) 前記架橋剤は、塗料を支持体に効果的に密着及び結合させるため組成物にアジリジン架橋剤の量を効果的に配合したものである前記(1)〜(22)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
(25) 前記架橋剤は、イソシアニン架橋剤を含まないものである前記(1)〜(24)のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。

水分散性であり、かつ前記水分散性ポリマーと混和性のある又は水分散性該ポリマーに結合するエチレン性不飽和化合物であって、インクと共有結合を形成することができるエチレン性不飽和化合物と、
塗料を支持体に結合するのに適した架橋剤と、
を含む支持体用プライマレス塗料を提供する。
すなわち、表面層が粘着性インクの引張り力に十分耐えるくらい強く、該表面層の他の部分は、表面から引き離され、剥けとして知られる欠点を有してもよいフィルムである。
また、架橋剤は、耐水性のあるフィルムも過度に硬くすることなく提供し、これは、表面はまだ容易に印刷することができることを意味する。事実、印刷性の改善が見られる。
発明者らは、イソシアネートは自己架橋し、硬い、不粘着性ポリ尿素成分を得る可能性があることを発見しているので、非イソシアネート系架橋剤が好ましい。発明者らは、カルボジイミド、特にアジリジン架橋剤で良好な結果を得ているので、これらの架橋剤が好ましい。当業者は、結合作用を提供し、効果的な印刷性をもたらす他の架橋剤も本発明の範囲内であることを理解するであろう。
系中に存在するエチレン性不飽和化合物は、インクが系に被覆される時点で、その不飽和基の少なくともいくらかを保持していることが、本発明の重要な特徴である。言い換えれば、塗料は、エチレン性不飽和基が化合物から完全に除かれるまでは硬化せず、塗面に被覆されたインクに対する結合を防止するエチレン性不飽和化合物を含む。
本発明の塗料配合物に使用されるエチレン性不飽和化合物は、(その1個以上のエチレン性不飽和基を介して)塗膜に被覆されたインクに結合する性能を持っていなければならない。
最初はエチレン性不飽和化合物が配合されるが、次いでインクを付着させる前に、インクの密着のために、不十分なエチレン性不飽和基が塗膜に残るように硬化させる塗料配合物は、本発明によるものではない。
好ましい架橋剤の中には、代わりに、加水分解によって過剰な架橋の問題を避けることができるものもある。
エチレン性不飽和化合物との反応;ポリマーを考慮する3方向相互作用;例えば、ポリマー製造において酸官能性のレベルを制限することなどの材料の特定の官能性;架橋剤の量;及び最初の重合時のモノマーの選択は、ある役割を果たすことができ、それにしたがって当業者は、変更することができる。
水分散性ポリマーは、水分散性アクリレート類、ウレタン類、ウレタンアクリレート類、スチレンブタジエン/無水マレイン酸共重合体及びこれらの混合物から選択されてもよいが、これらは、限定ではなく例示である。水分散性ポリマーは、平滑なフィルムが形成されたインク受容面を形成する。
他の適切なエチレン性不飽和化合物として、エチレン性不飽和アルコール類及びそのエトキシル化変性体と反応したイソシアネートプレポリマー又はオリゴマーの誘導体、例えば、ヒドロキシルエチルメタクリレートと反応したDesmodur(Bayer)3官能性イソシアネートが挙げられる。言い換えれば、本発明で使用されるエチレン性不飽和化合物は、1個以上のエステル結合に加え、あるいはその代わりに、1個以上のウレタン結合を含んでもよい。
該飽和脂肪族ジオール類として、エチレングリコール、ジエチレングリコール、トリエチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、ジプロピレングリコール、トリプロピレングリコール、ブチレングリコール、ネオペンチルグリコール、1,3−及び1,4−ブタンジオール、1,5−ペンタンジオール、1,6−ヘキサンジオール及び2−メチル−1,3−プロパンジオールのようなものが挙げられる。
グリセロール、1,1,1−トリメチロールプロパン、ビスフェノールA及びこれの水素化誘導体も使用してよい。
適切なアルコキシル化ポリオール類として、先に列挙したポリオール類のエトキシル化又はプロポキシル化誘導体が挙げられる。
該多官能性アクリレート類とは、1,4−ブタンジオールジアクリレート、1,6−ヘキサンジオールジアクリレート、ネオペンチルグリコールジアクリレート、トリエチレングリコールジアクリレート、ポリエチレングリコールジアクリレート、トリプロピレングリコールジアクリレート、2,2−ジオノールジアクリレート、ビスフェノールAジアクリレートなどのような2官能性アクリレート類;ペンタエリスリトールトリアクリレート、トリメチロールプロパントリアクリレートなどのような3官能性アクリレート類;及び4官能性アクリレート類のようなものである。
架橋剤は、基材とトップコートとの間の界面で、カルボキシル基、水酸基又はアミノ官
能基の間で結合を形成することができる。
該追加物質として、例えば、ポリエチレンオキサイド、シリカ、シリカゲル、クレイ、タルク、珪藻土、炭酸カルシウム、硫酸カルシウム、硫酸バリウム、ケイ酸アルミニウム、合成ゼオライト、アルミナ、酸化亜鉛、酸化チタン、リトポン、サチン白、などのような顔料、並びに陽イオン、陰イオン及び非イオン静電防止剤などを使用してもよい。
展色剤は、普通、表面層のエチレン性不飽和化合物と反応することができるアクリレート誘導体のような、不飽和モノマー、プレポリマー又はオリゴマーから誘導される樹脂で構成される。
UVインクに関して、「添加剤」は、UV光の光子に反応して、系の反応を開始する光重合開始剤を大量に含む。

- 前記架橋剤が、カルボジイミド架橋剤又はアジリジン架橋剤である請求項1又は2に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 水分散性ポリマーであるバインダーと、
水分散性であり、かつ別の化合物として組成物に提供される、及び/又は、該水分散性ポリマーの骨格の一部及び/若しくは側鎖を形成するエチレン性不飽和化合物であって、
インクと共有結合を結合することができるエチレン性不飽和化合物と、
支持体表面及び塗装組成物の成分の両方で結合させる、カルボジイミド架橋剤又はアジリジン架橋剤のいずれか一方であり、これは塗料を支持体に効果的に密着及び結合するのに適した架橋剤と、
を含む支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。 - 前記水分散性ポリマーが、水分散性アクリレート類、ウレタン類、ウレタンアクリレート類、スチレンブタジエン/無水マレイン酸共重合体及びこれらの混合物から選択される請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記水分散性ポリマーが、水分散性アクリレート類である請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記水分散性ポリマーが、ポリウレタンアクリレート類を含むものである請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記効果的な密着が、高温及び低温で非常に湿った状態に曝し、次いで引掻き試験を行なって決定されたものである請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記高温が90℃以上及び低温が0℃付近である請求項8に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、支持体の表面と塗料組成物の組成において、カルボキシル基、水酸基又はアミノ官能基の間で作用するものである請求項1〜9の何れか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤が塗装全体に存在し、及び前記架橋剤がその上の官能基に結合するフィルム(基板)から、架橋剤がポリマーを架橋し、エチレン性不飽和化合物と化学的に相互作用する塗料を通り抜け、架橋剤がエチレン性不飽和化合物を固定し、エチレン性不飽和化合物上にインクとの結合に利用される官能基を残している支持体表面にまで達するものである請求項1〜10の何れか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記化学的相互作用は、前記エチレン性不飽和化合物、前記架橋剤及びポリマーを含む3方向相互作用であり、これによりインクの受容及びその後の硬化のために、フィルム表面上にプレポリマーが効果的に形成される、請求項1〜11の何れか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- さらに塗料を支持体に結合させ、効果的に密着させ、前記架橋剤が効果的に耐水性もある支持体を提供する、請求項1〜12の何れか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、支持体に塗料を結合させ、効果的に密着させるための量を塗料組成物中に提供されている、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤の量は、(a)前記架橋剤自体の性質;(b)加水分解に対する架橋剤の能力;(c)エチレン性不飽和化合物との架橋剤の反応性の性質;(d)架橋剤、エチレン性不飽和化合物とポリマーとの間で任意に調整する3方向相互作用の性質;(e)ポリマー中の酸官能性のレベルでの組成物中の材料の官能性;に関し、これらから1種以上選択される請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、水溶性ポリマーの架橋に必要な化学量論的な量を超える量で存在する、請求項14又は15記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、塗料組成物中、1〜10重量%である、請求項1〜16のいずれか1項記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、塗料組成物中、2〜5重量%である、請求項17項記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 最終製品における結合が、架橋剤とエチレン性不飽和化合物との間に起こる請求項1〜18のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 印刷に適する、平滑なフィルムが形成されたインク受容面を提供することができる請求項1〜19のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 塗料組成物の乾燥後、前記水分散性ポリマーが10〜98重量%の量で存在する請求項1〜20のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 塗料組成物の乾燥後、該エチレン性不飽和化合物が2〜90重量%の量で存在する請求項1〜21のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、塗料を支持体に効果的に密着及び結合させるため組成物にカルボジイミド架橋剤の量を効果的に配合したものである請求項1〜22のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、塗料を支持体に効果的に密着及び結合させるため組成物にアジリジン架橋剤の量を効果的に配合したものである請求項1〜22のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 前記架橋剤は、イソシアニン架橋剤を含まないものである請求項1〜24のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- インクを塗膜に被覆した時に、塗膜中に存在するエチレン性不飽和基によって、エチレン性不飽和化合物がインクと共有結合を形成することができる請求項1〜25のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- さらにシリカ又はケイ酸アルミニウムを含むものである請求項1〜26のいずれか1項に記載の支持体用プライマレス塗料組成物。
- 基板と、請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の塗料組成物から形成される少なくとも1つの表面層とを含み、プライマ層を含まない印刷可能なフィルム。
- 基板と、印刷に適した第一表面層であって、請求項1〜28のいずれか1項に記載の塗料組成物から形成され、プライマ層を含まない第一表面層と、密着に適した第二表面層とを含む印刷可能なフィルム。
- 第二表面層が、請求項1〜29のいずれか1項に記載の塗料組成物から形成され、プライマ層を含まない請求項29に記載の印刷可能なフィルム。
- 基板が、ポリマーフィルム、ポリオレフィンフィルム、紙、合成紙、織布、不織布、セラミックシート、金属繊維シート、金属で被覆されたシート(フィルム)、金属箔、金属板及びこれらの材料を組み合わせて形成される多層複合シートからなる群から選択される請求項28〜30のいずれか1項に記載の印刷可能なフィルム。
- 基板が、配向ポリプロピレンフィルムである請求項28〜31のいずれか1項に記載の印刷可能なフィルム。
- 一面だけが表面層で塗布され、基板の裏面は、感圧型接着剤層で被覆されている請求項28〜32のいずれか1項に記載の印刷可能なフィルム。
- 請求項28〜33のいずれか1項に記載の印刷可能なフィルムを含み、さらに印刷が施された印刷フィルム。
- 基板の少なくとも1つの面を、請求項1〜27のいずれか1項に記載の塗料を含む水性分散液で塗布する工程と、さらに、そのようにして得た塗料を乾燥する工程を含む請求項28〜34のいずれか1項に記載の印刷可能なフィルムを製造する方法。
- 請求項35に記載の工程を含み、さらに、乾燥塗膜に放射線硬化性インクでインクを付着する工程と、UV又はEB照射でインクを硬化させる工程とを含む請求項34に記載の印刷されたフィルムを製造する方法。
- 請求項36の方法により得ることが可能な印刷されたフィルム。
- ラベル形態のフィルムであって、該フィルムは、印刷前又は後に、感圧型接着剤層および場合によっては剥離フィルムと組合わされる請求項36に記載の印刷されたフィルム。
- ラベル形態のフィルムであって、該フィルムは、印刷前又は後に、感圧型接着剤層及び場合によっては剥離フィルムと組合わされる請求項34又は請求項37に記載の印刷されたフィルム。
- 請求項39に記載のラベルが貼られたボトルをはじめとする容器。
