Abstract
− 少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和ニトリルと、少なくとも1種の共役ジエンと、さらに任意で1又は2種以上の共重合可能なモノマーとを、少なくとも3つの3級炭素原子及び当該3級炭素原子のうちの1つと結合した硫黄を有する炭素原子数12〜16のアルキルチオールの少なくとも1種の存在下で、pHが7から10、好ましくは8から9の範囲で乳化重合させてラテックスを得る工程と、
− 前記ラテックスを、マグネシウム、ナトリウム及びカリウム、好ましくはマグネシウムから選択される少なくとも1種の金属硫酸塩の存在下で、30℃以上、好ましくは40℃から60℃の範囲の温度で凝固させて凝固ニトリルゴムを得る工程と、
− 前記凝固ニトリルゴムを、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化カルシウム、水酸化マグネシウム及び水酸化リチウムから選択される少なくとも1種の無機塩の存在下、pHが10以上、好ましくは11から12の範囲で、水により洗浄する工程、を有する上記製造方法。このようにして得られたニトリルゴムにより、加硫速度が速く、加硫度に優れた加硫性エラストマー組成物を供給することができる。さらに、当該エラストマー組成物は、金型のファウリングを起こしにくいので、射出成形に好適に用いることができる。

Description
(i)前記乳化重合を、少なくとも3つの3級炭素原子及び当該3級炭素原子のうちの1つと結合した硫黄を有する炭素原子数12〜16のアルキルチオールの少なくとも1種の存在下で行い、
(ii)前記乳化重合により得られるラテックスのpHを、凝固前に少なくとも6に調整し、また、当該ラテックスの温度を、マグネシウム塩の添加前に45℃未満とする、ことを特徴とする製造方法が記載されている。
(i)前記ニトリルゴムに対するカルシウムイオンの含有量が、少なくとも150ppmであり、前記ニトリルゴムに対する塩素イオンの含有量が、少なくとも40ppmであり、
(ii)以下の末端基:2,2,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−4−チオール及び/又は2,4,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−2−チオール及び/又は2,3,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−2−チオール及び/又は2,3,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−3−チオールを含む、ニトリルゴムが記載されている。
(i)前記乳化重合を、2,2,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−4−チオール、2,4,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−2−チオール、2,3,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−2−チオール及び2,3,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−3−チオールを含む混合物の存在下で行い、
(ii)前記ニトリルゴムを含むラテックスを、アルミニウム、カルシウム、マグネシウム、ナトリウム、カリウム及びリチウムの塩からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の塩を用いて凝固させ、
(iii)前記凝固の際には水溶性のカルシウム塩が存在し、及び/又は凝固した前記ニトリルゴムの洗浄をカルシウムイオンを含む水を用いて行い、
(iv)前記乳化重合又は前記凝固又はそれに続く凝固した前記ニトリルゴムの洗浄の何れかの際に塩素系の塩が存在する、ことを特徴とする製造方法が記載されている。
(i)前記乳化重合を、少なくとも3つの3級炭素原子及び当該3級炭素原子のうちの1つと結合した硫黄を有する炭素原子数12〜16のアルキルチオールの少なくとも1種の存在下で行い、
(ii)得られたラテックスのpHを、凝固前に少なくとも6に調整し、次いで当該ラテックスを、少なくとも1種の1価の金属塩と、凝固に用いる塩の全量に対して5重量%以下の2価の金属塩とを用いて凝固させ、
(iii)前記凝固及びその後の前記洗浄における温度をいずれも少なくとも50℃とする、ことを特徴とする製造方法も記載されている。

− 前記凝固ニトリルゴムを、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化カルシウム、水酸化マグネシウム及び水酸化リチウムから選択される少なくとも1種の無機塩、好ましくは水酸化カリウムの存在下で、pH10以上、好ましくはpH11から12の範囲で、水により洗浄する工程、を有する上記製造方法に関する。
− 2,2,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−4−チオール、
− 2,4,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−2−チオール、
− 2,3,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−2−チオール、
− 2,3,4,6,6−ペンタメチルヘプタン−3−チオール。
ニトリルゴムのイオン含量の測定
誘導結合プラズマ発光分光分析(ICP−AES)法を、以下の方法により適宜鉱化(mineralized)したニトリルゴムに対して用いた。
カルシウム:317.93nm
マグネシウム:285.21nm
カリウム:766.49nm
ナトリウム:589.59nm
細片に刻んだ3gのニトリルゴムを、100mlのクロロホルムを入れた150ml容シリンダーに加え、二酸化炭素(CO2)と接触しないよう窒素シール下で全混合物を撹拌した。室温(25℃)でニトリルゴムを完全に溶解させた後、50mlのpH=7に調整した再蒸留水を1%水酸化ナトリウム水溶液で較正済のピペット用いて加え、溶液を2時間激しく撹拌した。得られた溶液を回収し、続いて3000回転で30分遠心分離した。遠心分離後、水相を取り出してpHを測定した。
結合アクリロニトリル量は、LECO社製EP528分析機を用いて得られたニトリルゴム中の総窒素を測定し、その総窒素量から結合アクリロニトリル量を算出して求めた。
測定は、ASTM D1646の方法に準じ、Alpha Technology社製200E測定器により、45gのニトリルゴムを用いて100℃で行なった。
ニトリルゴムのイオン指数(II1)及びイオン指数(II2)は、それぞれ以下の式(1)及び式(2)により求めた。
エラストマー組成物の調製に用いる化合物の量は、表1に示す通りである。エラストマー組成物は、ASTM D3182の方法に準じ、オープンミキサーにて調製した。

金型のファウリング評価
上記のようにして得られた表1に示すエラストマー組成物を、直径10mmの孔を約12個有し、2枚のプレートが完全に組み合わさって約2mm厚の間隙をつくるサンドイッチ構造の密閉金型に、1cmの孔から射出した。金型が充填された後、エラストマー組成物を約220℃、約20Kg/cm2の圧力下で約2分間加硫した。
3種のラテックスA、B及びCを表2に示す成分を用いて製造した。各成分の量をphrで示す。
(2)t−ドデシルメルカプタン(Lanxess)
(3)ステアリン酸カリウム5.4重量%水溶液(Oleon)
(4)ナフタレンスルホン酸−ホルムアルデヒド縮合物カリウム塩の45重量%水溶液(Dalton)
(5)表3に従って調製したホルムアルデヒドスルホキシル酸ナトリウム(FSS)水溶液
(6)硫酸ヒドロキシルアミンの2重量%水溶液(Basf)
9.92kgの脱イオン水、0.53kgの5.4重量%ステアリン酸カリウム水溶液、及び0.440kgのDNMKを順次オートクレーブに仕込んだ。得られた混合物を撹拌し、水酸化カリウム10重量%水溶液をpHが8.5になるまで加えてpHの調整を行なった。次いで、オートクレーブを閉じ、窒素置換した。減圧し、500gのアクリロニトリル、18.72gのTDM及び4.37kgのブタジエンを順次加え、得られた混合物を撹拌後、7℃まで冷却した。当該温度に到達してから、6gのDIHP、次いで直ちに139gの表3に示すホルムアルデヒドスルホキシル酸ナトリウム(FSS)水溶液を注入した。全重合時間中、重合混合物の温度を7℃に保持した。次いで、残るアクリロニトリル(1.134kg)を、流速0.162kg/hで連続的に供給した。
9.92kgの脱イオン水、0.53kgの5.4重量%ステアリン酸カリウム水溶液、及び0.440kgのDNMKを順次オートクレーブに仕込んだ。得られた混合物を撹拌し、水酸化カリウム10重量%水溶液をpHが8.5になるまで加えてpHの調整を行なった。次いで、オートクレーブを閉じ、窒素置換した。減圧し、815gのアクリロニトリル、21.85gのTDM及び4.0kgのブタジエンを順次加え、得られた混合物を撹拌後、7℃まで冷却した。当該温度に到達してから、6gのDIHP、次いで直ちに139gの表3に示すホルムアルデヒドスルホキシル酸ナトリウム(FSS)水溶液を注入した。全重合時間中、重合混合物の温度を7℃に保持した。次いで、残るアクリロニトリル(1.209kg)を、流速0.173kg/hで連続的に供給した。
9.92kgの脱イオン水、0.53kgの5.4重量%ステアリン酸カリウム水溶液、及び0.440kgのDNMKを順次オートクレーブに仕込んだ。得られた混合物を撹拌し、水酸化カリウム10重量%水溶液をpHが8.5になるまで加えてpHの調整を行なった。次いで、オートクレーブを閉じ、窒素置換した。減圧し、500gのアクリロニトリル、21.85gのTDM及び4.37kgのブタジエンを順次加え、得られた混合物を撹拌後、7℃まで冷却した。当該温度に到達してから、6gのDIHP、次いで直ちに139gの表3に示すホルムアルデヒドスルホキシル酸ナトリウム(FSS)水溶液を注入した。全重合時間中、重合混合物の温度を7℃に保持した。次いで、残るアクリロニトリル(1.134kg)を、流速0.162kg/hで連続的に供給した。
ラテックスA、B及びCを、飽和硫酸マグネシウム水溶液を用い、以下の条件にて70リットル容の開放容器内で撹拌しながら凝固させた。
凝固させたラテックスをろ過してニトリルゴムの団粒を回収し、以下の条件にて洗浄した。
比較のため、上記の実施例1〜3で得られたニトリルゴムの団粒を、異なる方法にて洗浄した。ここでは、ラテックス(ラテックスA、B及びC)の凝固により得られたニトリルゴムの団粒を、中性pH(pH値については表7参照)の脱イオン水で洗浄した。
比較のため、上記の実施例1〜3で得られたラテックス(ラテックスA、ラテックスB及びラテックスC)を、4kgの塩化カルシウム飽和水溶液で凝固させた。次いで、このようにして得られたラテックスA1、ラテックスB1及びラテックスC1を、水酸化カリウムを加えてpHを11.5〜11.6(pH値については表9参照)に調整した脱イオン水で洗浄した(実施例1〜3の記載と同様の洗浄)。

- ニトリルゴムの製造方法であって、
− 少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和ニトリルと、少なくとも1種の共役ジエンと、さらに任意で1又は2種以上の共重合可能なモノマーとを、少なくとも3つの3級炭素原子及び当該3級炭素原子のうちの1つと結合した硫黄を有する炭素原子数12〜16のアルキルチオールの少なくとも1種の存在下で、pHが7から10の範囲で乳化重合させてラテックスを得る工程と、
− 前記ラテックスを、マグネシウム、ナトリウム及びカリウムから選択される少なくとも1種の金属硫酸塩の存在下で、30℃以上の温度で凝固させて凝固ニトリルゴムを得る工程と、
− 前記凝固ニトリルゴムを、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化カルシウム、水酸化マグネシウム及び水酸化リチウムから選択される少なくとも1種の無機塩の存在下、pH10以上で、水により洗浄する工程、を有する上記製造方法。 - 前記乳化重合を8から9の範囲のpHで行う、請求項1に記載のニトリルゴムの製造方法。
- 前記凝固を硫酸マグネシウムの存在下で行う、請求項1又は2に記載のニトリルゴムの製造方法。

- 前記1又は2種以上の共重合可能なモノマーが、α,β−不飽和モノ若しくはジカルボン酸、それらのエステル若しくはアミド、又はそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載のニトリルゴムの製造方法。
