Abstract
Description
Claims (20)
- 複数のデバイス(110、130)とデータを交換するように無線アクセスポイント(122)を動作させる(operating)方法であって、前記データが、複数の副搬送波(2101、2102…21024)を有する周波数範囲(200)で無線によって交換され、
複数の副搬送波の少なくとも一部分におけるアクティビティ(activity)を検知するステップ(614)と、
複数の副搬送波割当て(assignments)を発生させるステップ(612、626)であって、各副搬送波割当てが、前記複数のデバイスのうち1つのデバイスに関連づけられ(associated with)、前記副搬送波割当てがそれぞれ、前記検知されたアクティビティに少なくとも部分的に基づいて選択され、前記複数の副搬送波割当てのうちいくつかの前記副搬送波割当てが、前記複数のデバイスそれぞれ(each)との通信を、前記複数のデバイスのうちそれ以外(others)のデバイスとの通信とは区別(distinguish)するように選択される(selected)ステップと、
前記複数の副搬送波割当てそれぞれを、前記複数のデバイスのうち前記関連づけられたデバイスに送るステップ(630)と、
前記割り当てられた副搬送波を使って、前記1つのデバイスと通信するステップ(632)とを含む方法。 - アクティビティを検知するステップが、前記一部分(portion)の各副搬送波ごとに、
第1のとき(a first time)に、信号が前記副搬送波を介して伝送中であるかどうかを検出するステップ(614、620)と、
前記第1のときに信号が検出されると、ランダム間隔(interval)だけ待機(waiting)し(622)、信号が前記副搬送波を介して伝送中であるかどうかを検出するステップとを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記副搬送波割当てそれぞれを送るステップ(630)が、前記副搬送波割当てを、前記アクセスポイントからの制御通信に組み込まれる(embedded)情報要素(information element)(330、340)に入れて送るステップを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- デバイスに関連づけられた副搬送波割当てを発生させるステップに先立って、いくつかの副搬送波を示すリクエストを前記デバイスから受信するステップ(610)をさらに含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記デバイスに関連づけられた前記副搬送波割当てが、いくつかの副搬送波を割り当て、

第2の副搬送波割当てを発生させるステップに先立って、前記複数のデバイスのうち第2のデバイス(130)から、第2の副搬送波数を示す第2のリクエストを受信するステップであって、前記第2の副搬送波割当てが前記第2のデバイスに関連づけられ、前記第2のデバイスが第2のアプリケーションを実行するステップと、
前記第1のアプリケーションからのデータを、前記第1の副搬送波割当てにおける副搬送波中で伝送されるデータグラム(datagrams)(1121、1122)に入れて伝送するステップと、
第2のアプリケーションからのデータを、前記第2の副搬送波割当てにおける副搬送波中で伝送されるデータグラム(1361…1365)に入れて伝送するステップであって、前記データグラムが、前記第1のアプリケーションからのデータを含む前記データグラムより少ないビットを含む、前記第2のアプリケーションからのデータを含むステップとをさらに含む、請求項5に記載の方法。 - 前記第2のアプリケーションが、ボイスオーバーIPアプリケーションを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の副搬送波割当てを送るステップに先立って、前記第2のアプリケーションのタイプに基づく副搬送波割当てを求めるリクエストを示す情報要素を含む制御メッセージを受信するステップをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 複数の副搬送波割当てを発生させるステップが、
前記副搬送波のサブセットを、前記複数のデバイスによって直交周波数分割多重アクセス(OFDMA)を実装するために、前記複数のデバイスの各デバイスによる使用のために動的に選択するステップであって、選択された各副搬送波が、閾値未満(below a threshold)の検知されたアクティビティを有するステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 複数の副搬送波割当てを発生させるステップが、
前記複数のデバイスの各デバイスごとに、予め定義された複数のチャネルからなるサブセットを割り当てるステップであって、選択された、予め定義された各グループが、本質的には閾値未満の検知されたアクティビティを有する副搬送波からなるステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - アクセスポイントを介して無線ネットワークを越えて通信するように適合されたコンピューターによって実行されると、
前記コンピューターにインストールされた少なくとも1つのアプリケーションプログラムに基づいて副搬送波要求を識別するステップと、
前記副搬送波要求を表す情報要素をフォーマットするステップと、
前記副搬送波要求を、前記無線ネットワークのプロトコル形式の第1の制御通信において伝達するステップと、
前記アクセスポイントと副搬送波割当てをネゴシエートするステップであって、前記副搬送波割当てが、前記無線ネットワークによって使われる無線通信周波数範囲の複数の副搬送波の一部分の識別(identification)を含み、前記ネゴシエートするステップが、前記無線ネットワークの前記プロトコルの前記形式の、少なくとも第2の制御通信における前記副搬送波割当てを定義する(defining)情報を受信することを含むステップと、
サブセットを使って、前記無線ネットワークを越えて(over)通信を無線伝送するステップとを含むステップを実施するコンピューター実行可能命令を有するコンピューター記憶媒体。 - 前記コンピューター記憶媒体が、実行されると、前記アプリケーションプログラムから、帯域幅要求(bandwidth requirement)の指示(indication)を受信することを含むステップを実施するコンピューター実行可能命令をさらに備え、
副搬送波割当てをネゴシエートするステップが、副搬送波割当てを求めるリクエストを、前記帯域幅要求の前記指示に部分的に基づいて定式化する(formulating)ステップを含む、請求項11に記載のコンピューター記憶媒体。 - アクセスポイントを介して無線通信するようにデバイスを動作させる方法であって、
前記アクセスポイントから制御通信を受信するステップ(820)と、
前記制御通信に含まれる情報要素が、前記アクセスポイントがOFDMAを実施することが可能であることを示すかどうか判定するステップ(824)と、
前記アクセスポイントがOFDMAを実施することが可能であることが示されない場合、
前記デバイスに割り当てられた複数の副搬送波の一部分を選択するステップ(842)と、
前記選択された部分を、前記アクセスポイントに伝達するステップ(844)と、
前記副搬送波の前記選択された部分を使って、前記アクセスポイントに通信を送るステップ(860)とを含む方法。 - 前記アクセスポイントがOFDMAを実施することが可能であることが示される場合、
前記アクセスポイントからの制御通信において、複数の副搬送波の識別を受信するステップ(830)と、
前記複数の前記副搬送波を使って、前記アクセスポイントを介して通信を送るステップとをさらに含む、請求項13に記載の方法。 - 制御通信を受信するステップが、ビーコンを受信するステップ(820)を含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 複数の副搬送波の前記識別を受信するステップが、前記ビーコン中の前記識別を受信するステップを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の副搬送波の一部分を選択するステップが、前記デバイスの使用可能電力レベルに基づいて、いくつかの副搬送波を選択するステップを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記選択された部分を前記アクセスポイントに伝達するステップが、前記選択された部分を、制御通信において情報要素に入れて伝達するステップを含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記アクセスポイント上で、前記通信を受信するステップをさらに含み、前記受信するステップが、
前記受信された通信のエラー訂正処理を、前記部分にはない副搬送波における情報欠如(lack)が、エラーと解釈(interpreted)されないように修正(modifying)するステップ(872)を含む、請求項13に記載の方法。 - エラー訂正処理を修正するステップが、巡回冗長検査を実施するソフトウェアの動作を変更(altering)するステップを含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
