Abstract
【解決手段】動作制御信号に対応して低電力駆動モード又は一般の駆動モードであるか否かを判断し、判断されたモードに対応する制御信号を生成するモード判断部と、走査線に走査信号を順次供給するための走査駆動部と、データ線に前記走査信号と同期されるようにデータ信号を供給するためのデータ駆動部と、前記走査線及びデータ線の交差部に位置する画素と、前記モード判断部から供給される前記低電力駆動モード又は前記一般の駆動モード制御信号に対応してフレーム周波数が変化されるように前記走査駆動部及びデータ駆動部を制御するタイミング制御部とを備える。

Claims (14)
- 動作制御信号に対応して低電力駆動モード又は一般の駆動モードであるか否かを判断し、判断されたモードに対応する制御信号を生成するモード判断部と、
走査線に走査信号を順次供給するための走査駆動部と、
データ線に前記走査信号と同期されるようにデータ信号を供給するためのデータ駆動部と、
前記走査線及びデータ線の交差部に位置する画素と、
前記モード判断部から供給される前記低電力駆動モード又は前記一般の駆動モード制御信号に対応してフレーム周波数が変化されるように前記走査駆動部及びデータ駆動部を制御するタイミング制御部と
を備え、
前記走査駆動部は前記フレーム周波数の変化と関係なく、前記走査信号の幅を一定に維持することを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記走査駆動部は、前記フレーム周波数の変化に対応して以前に供給された走査信号と現在供給される走査信号との間の間隔を調節することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記モード判断部は、一定時間に前記動作制御信号の供給がない時、前記低電力駆動モードに対応する低電力制御信号を前記タイミング制御部に供給し、その他の場合に前記一般の駆動モードに対応して一般の制御信号を前記タイミング制御部に供給することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記モード判断部は、前記一定時間に前記動作制御信号の供給がない時、現在表示される映像が静止画であるか、動画であるかを追加で判断し、前記静止画であると判断された場合にのみ前記低電力制御信号を前記タイミング制御部に供給することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記タイミング制御部は、前記一般の制御信号が供給される時に第1フレーム周波数、前記低電力制御信号が供給される時に第2フレーム周波数で駆動されるように前記走査駆動部及びデータ駆動部を制御することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第1フレーム周波数は、前記第2フレーム周波数よりも高い周波数であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記画素は、
有機発光ダイオードと、
前記有機発光ダイオードに供給される電流量を制御するための駆動トランジスタを具備することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記画素は、前記駆動トランジスタの閾値電圧を補償するために複数のトランジスタを更に具備することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 外部から供給される動作制御信号に対応してフレーム周波数を変化する第1段階と、
前記フレーム周波数と関係なく、走査信号の幅を一定に維持する第2段階と、
前記走査信号に対応するようにデータ信号を供給する第3段階と、
前記データ信号に対応して画素のそれぞれで所定輝度の光を生成する第4段階と
を具備することを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 第2段階では前記フレーム周波数に対応して前記走査信号間の間隔を調節することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1段階は、
前記動作制御信号を用いて一般の駆動モードであるか、低電力駆動モードであるかを判別する段階と、
前記一般の駆動モードである場合に第1フレーム周波数に設定し、前記低電力駆動モードである場合には第2フレーム周波数に設定する段階と
を具備することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1フレーム周波数は、前記第2フレーム周波数よりも高い周波数であることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1段階では、前記動作制御信号が一定時間入力されない時に前記低電力モードであると判断し、その他の場合には前記一般の駆動モードであると判断することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1段階では、前記動作制御信号が一定時間入力されない時に表示される映像が動画であるか、静止画であるかを追加で判断し、前記静止画であると判断された場合にのみ前記低電力モードであると判断することを特徴とする請求項13に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
