Abstract
【解決手段】NOx触媒に所定量XsのNOxを吸蔵させると共にこの吸蔵NOxを放出還元するのに適した量よりも過剰の量の還元剤をNOx触媒に供給し、このときのNOxセンサ出力Nに基づいてNOxセンサの異常を診断する。余剰還元剤ΔIに対するNOxセンサ出力に基づいてNOxセンサの異常を診断するので、上流側のNOx触媒の影響を受けずに好適且つ高精度な診断を実行できる。

Description
排気通路に吸蔵還元型NOx触媒を設け、その下流側にNOxセンサを設けた内燃機関において、前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する装置であって、
前記NOx触媒に所定量のNOxを吸蔵させると共に、この吸蔵NOxを放出還元するのに適した量よりも過剰の量の還元剤を前記NOx触媒に供給し、このときの前記NOxセンサの出力に基づいて前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する
ことを特徴とするNOxセンサの異常診断装置が提供される。
前記過剰量の還元剤の供給が単一のリッチスパイクによってなされる
ことを特徴とする。
前記過剰量の還元剤の供給がダブルリッチスパイクによってなされる
ことを特徴とする。
前記ダブルリッチスパイクのうちの後段スパイクに対応したNOxセンサ出力に基づいて前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する
ことを特徴とする。
前記ダブルリッチスパイクが、前段スパイクの還元剤量を増加し且つ後段スパイクの還元剤量を一定としつつ、複数回行われ、このとき後段スパイクに対応したNOxセンサ出力挙動が今回と前回とで等しくなった時点において、その今回の後段スパイクに対応したNOxセンサ出力挙動に基づいて前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する
ことを特徴とする。
前記NOxセンサが排気ガス中のNOx及びアンモニアを検出可能である
ことを特徴とする。

Claims (6)
- 排気通路に吸蔵還元型NOx触媒を設け、その下流側にNOxセンサを設けた内燃機関において、前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する装置であって、
前記NOx触媒に所定量のNOxを吸蔵させると共に、この吸蔵NOxを放出還元するのに適した量よりも過剰の量の還元剤を前記NOx触媒に供給し、このときの前記NOxセンサの出力に基づいて前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する
ことを特徴とするNOxセンサの異常診断装置。 - 前記過剰量の還元剤の供給が単一のリッチスパイクによってなされる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のNOxセンサの異常診断装置。 - 前記過剰量の還元剤の供給がダブルリッチスパイクによってなされる
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のNOxセンサの異常診断装置。 - 前記ダブルリッチスパイクのうちの後段スパイクに対応したNOxセンサ出力に基づいて前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する
ことを特徴とする請求項3記載のNOxセンサの異常診断装置。 - 前記ダブルリッチスパイクが、前段スパイクの還元剤量を増加し且つ後段スパイクの還元剤量を一定としつつ、複数回行われ、このとき後段スパイクに対応したNOxセンサ出力挙動が今回と前回とで等しくなった時点において、その今回の後段スパイクに対応したNOxセンサ出力挙動に基づいて前記NOxセンサの異常を診断する
ことを特徴とする請求項4記載のNOxセンサの異常診断装置。 - 前記NOxセンサが排気ガス中のNOx及びアンモニアを検出可能である
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載のNOxセンサの異常診断装置。
