Abstract
【解決手段】セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物、及びセリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物中に分散して少なくとも部分的に固溶している酸化鉄を含む、排ガス浄化触媒とする。また、本発明の排ガス浄化触媒の製造方法とする。

Description
2Fe2O3 + 4TiO2 ←→ 4FeTiO3 + O2 (1)
6Fe2O3 + 12TiO2 ←→ 4Fe3Ti3O10 + O2 (2)
3Fe2O3 + 6TiO2 ←→ Fe6Ti6O12 + O2 (3)
疎水性溶媒相中に水性相が分散している分散液を提供すること、
分散液中に分散している水性相中において、セリウム塩、ジルコニウム塩及び鉄塩を加水分解して、金属酸化物前駆体を析出させ、この金属酸化物前駆体を凝集させること、並びに
凝集させた金属酸化物前駆体を乾燥及び焼成すること。
本発明の排ガス浄化触媒は、セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物、及びセリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物中に分散して少なくとも部分的に固溶している酸化鉄を含む。
(1)セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物が8配位のセリウム及びジルコニウムから形成されているのに対して、2価及び3価の鉄が6配位であること;並びに
(2)鉄のイオン半径(2価:0.78Å、3価:0.65Å)が、セリウムのイオン半径(3価:1.14Å、4価:0.97Å)及びジルコニウムのイオン半径(4価:0.84Å)のいずれよりも小さいこと。
排ガス浄化触媒を製造する本発明の方法は、下記の工程を含む:
疎水性溶媒相中に水性相が分散している分散液を提供すること、
分散液中に分散している水性相中において、セリウム塩、ジルコニウム塩及び鉄塩を加水分解して、金属酸化物前駆体を析出させ、この金属酸化物前駆体を凝集させること、並びに
凝集させた金属酸化物前駆体を乾燥及び焼成すること。
この実施例では、下記のようにしてマイクロエマルション法によって、Fe:Ce:Zr(モル比)=5:40:55の組成の酸化鉄−セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物を製造した。
水性相溶液の調製において更に硝酸ランタンを加えたことを除いて実施例1と同様にして、La:Fe:Ce:Zr(モル比)=3:5:40:52の組成の酸化ランタン−酸化鉄−セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物を得た。この触媒の概略を下記の表1に示す。
比較例1では、下記のようにして共沈法によって、Al:Ce:Zr(モル比)=1:1:1の組成のアルミナ−セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物を製造し、この複合酸化物に白金を担持して、比較例1の排ガス浄化触媒を得た。
比較例2では、比較例1でのようにして得たアルミナ−セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物担体に、硝酸鉄溶液を用いて吸水法によって、アルミナ−セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物に対して5質量%の鉄を担持した。この触媒の概略を下記の表1に示す。
水性相溶液の調製において、La:Fe:Ce:Zrのモル比を下記の表1に記載のように変更したことを除いて実施例2と同様にして、実施例3〜8の排ガス浄化触媒を得た。
実施例1及び2並びに比較例1及び2の排ガス浄化触媒について、下記の表2の組成の耐久用ストイキガスを流通させながら900℃で2時間にわたって加熱して耐久を行った。また同様にして、これらの実施例及び比較例の排ガス浄化触媒について、1、000℃で2時間にわたって加熱して耐久を行った。
実施例3〜8の排ガス浄化触媒について、上記の表2の組成の耐久用ストイキガスを流通させながら1、000℃で2時間にわたって加熱して耐久を行った。
実施例1の触媒を空気中において800℃で2時間にわたって加熱して、耐久を行った。この耐久の後で、XRD(x線回折)解析を行った。結果を図3に示す。また同様に、実施例1の触媒を空気中において1,000℃で2時間にわたって加熱して耐久を行ったときのXRD解析結果を、図4に示す。
Claims (5)
- セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物、及び
前記セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物中に分散して少なくとも部分的に固溶している酸化鉄、
を含む、排ガス浄化触媒。 - 前記酸化鉄を構成している鉄が、排ガス浄化触媒に含有されている全金属原子に対して1〜20mol%の量である、請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化触媒。
- 前記セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物におけるジルコニウム/(セリウム+ジルコニウム)のモル比が、0.2〜0.8である、請求項1又は2に記載の排ガス浄化触媒。
- 前記セリア−ジルコニア複合酸化物中に分散して少なくとも部分的に固溶しているアルカリ土類金属酸化物及びセリア以外の希土類酸化物からなる群より選択される金属酸化物を更に含む、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の排ガス浄化触媒。
- 疎水性溶媒相中に水性相が分散している分散液を提供すること、
前記分散液中に分散している水性相中において、セリウム塩、ジルコニウム塩及び鉄塩を加水分解して、金属酸化物前駆体を析出させ、この金属酸化物前駆体を凝集させること、並びに
凝集させた前記金属酸化物前駆体を乾燥及び焼成すること、
を含む、排ガス浄化触媒の製造方法。
