Abstract
【解決手段】燃料タンク5へ給油するときは電磁弁4が開き、蒸発ガス(ベーパ)が矢印Cに沿って流れ、主吸着剤室12の活性炭13等に吸着される。車両運転中、タンク高圧時は矢印Dのように蒸発ガスが流れる。第1の部屋28から緩衝板34の通路34aを通り、第2の部屋29の活性炭30を通過し、パージポート6からエンジン8の吸気通路へ流れる。パージ時は矢印Eのように流れる。

Description
タンクポートとパージポートとの間に、これら両ポートの直接的な連通を阻止する仕切り板を設けて、前記主吸着剤室とタンクポートとの間に第1の部屋を、前記主吸着剤室とパージポートとの間に第2の部屋を形成し、前記主吸着剤室のタンクポートとパージポート側に前記第1と第2の部屋を連通する離脱緩衝板を配設し、前記第1の部屋は活性炭を収納しない気室となし、第2の部屋に活性炭を収納したことを特徴とするキャニスタである。

Claims (8)
- 燃料タンクの上部気室に連通するタンクポートと、機関の吸気通路に連通するパージポートと、大気に開放される大気ポートと、タンクポートから大気ポートへ流れる蒸発燃料を吸着する活性炭を収納した主吸着剤室を有するキャニスタにおいて、
タンクポートとパージポートとの間に、これら両ポートの直接的な連通を阻止する仕切り板を設けて、前記主吸着剤室とタンクポートとの間に第1の部屋を、前記主吸着剤室とパージポートとの間に第2の部屋を形成し、前記主吸着剤室のタンクポートとパージポート側に前記第1と第2の部屋を連通する離脱緩衝板を配設し、前記第1の部屋は活性炭を収納しない気室となし、第2の部屋に活性炭を収納したことを特徴とするキャニスタ。 - 第1の部屋と主吸着剤室との間の通気抵抗を、離脱緩衝板における第1と第2の部屋の間の通気抵抗より大きく定めたことを特徴とする請求項1のキャニスタ。
- 活性炭を収納する第2の部屋の容積を燃料タンクの容量の1/1400乃至10/1400の範囲に定めたことを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のキャニスタ。
- 第2の部屋に収納する活性炭を破砕炭とし、他の吸着剤室に収納する活性炭を造粒炭としたことを特徴とする請求項1、2又は3記載のキャニスタ。
- 第2の部屋に収納する活性炭をフィルタ材で包み込みパック詰めとし、他の吸着剤室の活性炭をパック詰めにしないことを特徴とする請求項1、2、3又は4記載のキャニスタ。
- 離脱緩衝板のベーパ通路の位置を、車両へのキャニスタ搭載姿勢の天地方向において上側に定めたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか一つに記載のキャニスタ。
- 第2の部屋のパージポート側に設けたフィルタと、第2の部屋の主吸着剤室側に設けたフィルタの単位面積当たりの通気抵抗よりも、主吸着剤室におけるタンクポートとパージポートの側に設けたフィルタの単位面積当たりの通気抵抗を大きくしたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか一つに記載のキャニスタ。
- 主吸着剤室におけるタンクポートとパージポートの側に設けたフィルタの片側、特に主吸着剤側に押え板を重ね合せ、該押え板に絞り穴を設けると共に、重ね合わせたフィルタと押え板の合計の単位面積当たりの通気抵抗を、前記第2の部屋のパージポート側に設けたフィルタと、第2の部屋の主吸着剤室側に設けたフィルタの単位面積当たりの通気抵抗より大きくしたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか一つに記載のキャニスタ。
