Abstract
【解決手段】 ピストン4の頂部に凹設されたリエントラント型のキャビティ11と、キャビティ11に向かって燃料を噴射する燃料噴射手段9と、排気ガスの一部を燃焼室内に還流する排気ガス還流手段19と、燃料噴射手段9による燃料の噴射時期及び排気ガス還流手段19によるEGR率又はEGR量を制御する制御装置26とを備え、制御装置26は所定の運転領域において、燃料噴射手段9による燃料の噴射時期を、ピストン4の圧縮上死点よりも前に燃料の噴射が完了し、且つ噴射された燃料の全てがキャビティ11内に入るような噴射時期に制御すると共に、排気ガス還流手段19によるEGR率又はEGR量を、燃料噴射手段9により噴射された燃料が、燃料の噴射完了後、ピストン4の圧縮上死点近傍で着火するようなEGR率又はEGR量に制御して予混合燃焼を実現させるものである。

Claims (11)
- ピストンの頂部に凹設されたリエントラント型のキャビティと、
上記キャビティに向かって燃料を噴射する燃料噴射手段と、
排気ガスの一部を燃焼室内に還流する排気ガス還流手段と、
上記燃料噴射手段による燃料の噴射時期及び上記排気ガス還流手段によるEGR率又はEGR量を制御する制御装置とを備え、
上記制御装置は、エンジンの運転状態が所定の運転領域であるときには、
上記燃料噴射手段による燃料の噴射時期を、ピストンの圧縮上死点よりも前に燃料の噴射が完了し、且つ噴射された燃料の全てが上記キャビティ内に入るような噴射時期に制御すると共に、上記排気ガス還流手段によるEGR率又はEGR量を、上記燃料噴射手段により噴射された燃料が、燃料の噴射完了後、ピストンの圧縮上死点近傍で着火するようなEGR率又はEGR量に制御して予混合燃焼を実現させることを特徴とするディーゼルエンジン。 - 上記制御装置は、上記予混合燃焼を実現させるときには、上記排気ガス還流手段によるEGR率を50%以上に制御する請求項1記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 上記燃料噴射手段の噴射角度が140°〜165°の範囲内に設定される請求項1又は2記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 上記制御装置は、上記予混合燃焼を実現させるときには、上記燃料噴射手段による燃料の噴射開始時期を5°〜35°BTDCの範囲内に制御する請求項1〜3いずれかに記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 上記制御装置は、エンジンの運転状態が上記所定の運転領域外であるときには、上記燃料噴射手段による燃焼の噴射時期をピストンの圧縮上死点近傍に制御して拡散燃焼を実現させる請求項1〜4いずれかに記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 上記燃料噴射手段の噴射角度は、ピストンの圧縮上死点近傍で噴射された燃料が、上記キャビティの最低位置より径方向外側のキャビティ内壁に到達するような角度に設定される請求項5記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 上記請求項1〜6いずれかに記載のディーゼルエンジンであって、
排気通路に設けられた触媒と、その触媒よりも上流側で上記排気通路を流れる排気ガスに添加剤を添加するための添加剤添加手段と、その添加剤添加手段に供給する添加剤を蓄えるための添加剤収容手段とを備えた排気ガス後処理装置と、
上記添加剤収容手段に蓄えられた添加剤の量を検出するための添加剤残量検出手段とを更に備え、
上記制御装置は、上記添加剤残量検出手段の検出値が第一所定値以下であるときには、エンジンの運転状態が上記所定の運転領域外であっても上記予混合燃焼を実現させることを特徴とするディーゼルエンジン。 - 上記制御装置は、上記添加剤残量検出手段の検出値が上記第一所定値以下であるときには、エンジン回転速度とアクセル開度とに基づいて決定する要求トルクを、上記予混合燃焼を実現させる領域における最大要求トルク以下に制限する請求項7記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 上記制御装置は、上記添加剤残量検出手段の検出値が上記第一所定値以下であるときには、エンジン回転速度とアクセル開度とに基づいて決定する燃料噴射量を、上記予混合燃焼を実現させる領域における最大燃料噴射量以下に制限する請求項7記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 上記制御装置により作動可能な警告手段を更に備え、
上記制御装置は、上記添加剤残量検出手段の検出値が、上記第一所定値以上の値に設定される第二所定値以下となったときに上記警告手段を作動させる請求項7〜9いずれかに記載のディーゼルエンジン。 - 上記排気ガス後処理装置の触媒は選択接触還元触媒であり、上記添加剤はアンモニア水溶液、尿素水溶液又は液体アンモニアである請求項7〜10いずれかに記載のディーゼルエンジン。
