Abstract
Description
このような精密な制御を実現する他の手法として、検出された信号レベルをデジタル化してもよい。デジタル信号のレベルは、デジタル信号の各レベルについて、精密に較正されたデジタルバイアスレベルを登録したルックアップテーブルにおけるインデックスとして用いることができる。このデジタルバイアスレベルは、アナログバイアスレベルに変換できる。
フィルタ505は、内部のRF信号525を受け取って、内部RF信号526を生成する。フィルタ505は、(デュプレクサ502からの)受信部への伝送エネルギの漏洩等を含むRF信号の帯域外成分を減衰させることができる。
図9は、バイアス制御のための本発明の一実施例である特定用途向け集積回路(application specific integrated circuit:ASIC)の回路図及びピン配列図である。図9に示すように、図8の電気回路の部品の多くは10ピンの単一の集積回路内に形成される。これらの回路部品を1つのASICに実装することにより、リアクティブバイアスフロントエンド回路を用いる受信機の製造コスト及び複雑性を低減できる。
Claims (18)
- 無線周波数通信用の受信機において、
無線周波数入力信号を受信し、調整可能なバイアスレベルを有する第1の回路と、
フィードバック手段と、上記第1の回路によって受信されたトータルの無線周波数パワーに依存する信号に基づいてバイアス制御信号を生成するための1以上の制御レベルとを備えるバイアス制御手段と、
ベースバンド回路によって制御され、上記第1の回路をバイパスさせ、上記フィードバック手段によって生成されるバイアス制御信号を変化させる任意の数のバイパススイッチとを備える受信機。 - 上記第1の回路は、増幅器、低雑音増幅器、線形増幅器、混合器、無線周波数を中間周波数に変換する変換器から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の受信機。
- 上記バイパス回路は、低雑音増幅器と混合器との間を直接接続することを特徴とする請求項1記載の受信機。
- 上記バイアス制御手段は、RSSI回路から選択された回路を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の受信機。
- 上記バイアス制御手段の構成は、バイアス制御信号を調整する構成、バイアスレベルに対して調整フィードバック信号として応答する構成、及びバイアスレベルを特定のレベルにホールドする構成から選択されることを特徴とする請求項4記載の受信機。
- 無線周波数入力信号を受信し、調整可能なバイアスレベルを有する回路と、
上記回路によって受信されたトータルの無線周波数パワーに依存する信号に基づいてバイアス制御信号を生成するための1以上の制御レベルとを備えるバイアス制御及びフィードバック手段と、
上記無線周波数入力信号を受け取り、上記回路が受け取ったバイアス電力に対応するDC成分信号を出力するバイパススイッチとを備える無線周波数回路。 - 上記回路は、増幅器、低雑音増幅器、線形増幅器、混合器、無線周波数を中間周波数に変換する変換器から選択されることを特徴とする請求項6記載の無線周波数回路。
- 上記バイパススイッチは、無線周波数信号と出力信号との間の直接変換を行うことを特徴とする請求項6記載の無線周波数回路。
- 上記バイアス制御手段は、RSSI回路から選択された回路を備えることを特徴とする請求項6記載の無線周波数回路。
- 上記バイアス制御手段の構成は、バイアス制御信号を調整する構成、バイアスレベルに対して調整フィードバック信号として応答する構成、及びバイアスレベルを特定のレベルにホールドする構成から選択されることを特徴とする請求項9記載の無線周波数回路。
- 無線周波数信号を増幅する増幅方法において、
調整可能なバイアスレベル及びフィードバックパワー信号を用いて、無線周波数入力信号を出力信号に増幅するステップと、
ベースバンド信号を検出し、上記調整可能なバイアスレベルを制御するためのバイアス制御信号を生成するステップと、
バイパススイッチを用いて、上記無線周波数入力信号をいかなる残留信号の過渡も生じることなく、上記フィードバックパワー信号の強度に対応する出力信号に変換するステップとを有する増幅方法。 - RSSI阻止の出力に基づいてバイアス制御信号を生成するステップと、
出力信号強度に基づいて上記バイアス制御信号を調整するステップとを更に有する
請求項11記載の増幅方法。 - 上記増幅は、複数のバイアスレベルを有する単一のステップによって行われることを特徴とする請求項11記載の増幅方法。
- 無線周波数信号を受信する受信機において、
第1のバイアスレベルを有し、無線周波数入力信号及びフィードバックパワー検出信号を受け取り、該無線周波数入力信号を第1の内部信号に増幅する第1の増幅器と、
バイアス制御信号を受け取り、該バイアス制御信号に基づいて第1のバイアスレベルを生成する第1のバイアス発生器と、
上記無線周波数入力信号の信号強度を示す信号を受け取り、上記フィードバックパワー検出を含むベースバンド回路に基づくRSSIに応じて、該信号強度を示す信号に基づいてバイアス制御信号を生成する検出器とを備える受信機。 - 無線周波数信号を受信し、上記第1のバイアス発生器をバイパスし、第1の内部信号を出力する代替手段を更に備える請求項14記載の受信機。
- 上記バイアス調整回路は、演算増幅器及びサンプル及びホールド回路から選択されることを特徴とする請求項14記載の受信機。
- 上記代替手段は、上記無線周波数入力信号を第1の内部信号に直接変換することを特徴とする請求項15記載の受信機。
- 上記代替手段は、発振器信号の自己混合、受信機信号の自己混合及び発振器信号の漏洩を最小化することを特徴とする請求項17記載の受信機。
