Abstract
【課題】 広い温度範囲で良好な画像の表示が可能な液晶表示装置などの表示装置の提供。
【解決手段】 この表示装置1は、検出した温度に応じた複数のガンマ補正データを出力するガンマ補正データ出力回路11と、複数のガンマ補正データをそれぞれ入力して保持する複数のレジスタ121乃至12mと、複数のレジスタのデータをそれぞれアナログ電圧に変換してガンマ補正設定電圧VI1乃至VImを出力する複数のD/A変換器(DAC)131乃至13mと、を備えるガンマ補正回路2と、画像データを入力し、それに対応してガンマ補正回路2の複数のガンマ補正設定電圧により補正された印加電圧を出力するソースドライバ3と、ソースドライバ3からの印加電圧が印加される表示素子を有する表示パネル4と、複数のガンマ補正データを保存する不揮発性メモリ5と、温度に対応する電気信号を生成する温度センサ6と、を備える。

Claims (4)
- 表示素子の印加電圧と輝度との非線形の相関関係に応じて画像電圧を補正するためにガンマ補正設定電圧を出力するガンマ補正回路であって、
検出した温度に応じて複数のガンマ補正データを出力するガンマ補正データ出力回路と、
複数のガンマ補正データをそれぞれ入力して保持する複数のレジスタと、
複数のレジスタのデータをそれぞれアナログ電圧に変換してガンマ補正設定電圧を出力する複数のD/A変換器と、
を備えることを特徴とするガンマ補正回路。 - 請求項1に記載されたガンマ補正回路において、
ガンマ補正データ出力回路は、ガンマ補正設定電圧調整時に外部から入力したガンマ補正データを出力し、ガンマ補正設定電圧調整後には検出した温度に応じたガンマ補正データを不揮発性メモリから取り出して出力するものであることを特徴とするガンマ補正回路。 - 請求項1又は2に記載されたガンマ補正回路において、
温度の検出は、表示パネルの1画面を表示する周期に同期して行うことを特徴とするガンマ補正回路。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載されたガンマ補正回路と、
画像データを入力し、それに対応したガンマ補正設定電圧又はそれらの補間電圧を選択することにより、補正された画像電圧を出力する表示パネルドライバと、
表示パネルドライバからの補正された画像電圧が印加される表示素子を有する表示パネルと、
複数のガンマ補正データを保存する不揮発性メモリと、
温度に対応する電気信号を生成してガンマ補正回路に出力する温度センサと、
を備えることを特徴とする表示装置。
