Abstract

An Office Building Construction The present invention relates to an office building construction.

According to the present invention there is provided an office building construction comprising a floor area defined by front and rear and left and right side walls, a portion of at least one of said walls being corrugated to define at least one bay within said floor area, at least one of said bays comprising a respective workstation module.

Preferably, said bays are further defined by partition members which extend away from the respective wall defining said bays.

An embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing which is a plan view of an office building construction according to the invention.

Referring now to the drawing, there is shown an office building construction generally indicated at 10 according to the invention. The office building 10 comprises a floor area 9 defined by front and rear and left and right side walls 11, 12 and 13, 14 respectively. comprise a plurality of window sections 15, disposed at an angle of 45° on a vertical plane to the left and right side walls 13, 14. The wall and window sections 15, 16 extending from a respective corner 17 define two side walls of a respective bay, each bay comprising a workstation module W. Each workstation module W comprises a desk and/or storage space located adjacent a respective window or wall section 15, 16. The workstation modules W are further defined by partition members 18 which extend towards the centre of the floor area 9 from the corners 19 of the window and wall sections 15, 16. The partition members 18 serve to enclose meeting areas M located within respective workstation modules W; or define further sub-workstations W' located adjacent respective workstation modules W.

The centre of the floor area 9 includes two groups of adjacent workstation modules A and B separated from one another by a corridor 20 running parallel to left and right side walls 13, 14. The groups of workstation modules are separated from the left and right side walls 13, 14 by mutually parallel corridors 21 respectively. The corridors 20 and 21 provide access across the floor area 9 between each of the groups of workstation modules W/W', A and B.

Common access facilities 22 are located adjacent the left side wall 13, while larger offices 24 and 24 and further workstation modules 25 are located adjacent the right side wall 14.

Claims (3)

1. An office building construction comprising a floor area defined by front and rear and left and right side walls, a portion of at least one of said walls being corrugated to define at least one bay within said floor area, at least one of said bays comprising a respective workstation module.

2. An office building construction as claimed in claim 1 wherein, said bays are further defined by partition members which extend away from the respective wall defining said bays.

3. An office building construction substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
