Abstract

An office building construction (10) comprises a floor area (9) defined by a plurality of walls (11, 14, 17, 18). The floor area includes a number of offices (23, 24) located adjacent said walls. The remainder of the floor area includes a plurality of workstation modules (W) to which access is provided through a corridor (21).

Description

An Office Building Construction The present invention relates to an office building construction.
According to the present invention there is provided an office building construction comprising a floor area defined by a plurality of walls, said floor area including a number of offices located adjacent said walls, with the remainder of the floor area including a plurality of workstation modules to which access is provided through a corridor.
Preferably, the workstation modules are disposed adjacent a reception area.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing which is a plan view of an office building construction according to the invention. i Referring now to the drawing, there is shown an office building construction generally indicated at 10 according to the invention. The office building 10 comprises an L-shaped floor area 9 defined between a convex wall 11 formed from front and left sides walls 12 and 13 and a concave wall 14 formed from rear and right side walls 15 and 16 respectively. The left and right side walls 13 are joined by an end wall 17 while the front and rear walls 12 and 15 are joined by an end wall 18 to enclose the floor area 9. Γ 940439 - 2 Access to the floor area 9 is provided through an entrance 19 located in the end wall 18. The entrance 19 communicates with a reception area 20 which in turn communicates with the remainder of the floor area 9 through a corridor 21 which runs parallel to the front wall 12. The corridor 21 in turn intersects a further corridor 22 which runs parallel to the left side wall 13. The corridor 21 provides access to a plurality of enclosed offices 23 disposed adjacent the front wall 12, while the corridor 22 provides access to a plurality of offices 24 disposed adjacent each side wall 13 and 16.
The remainder of the floor area 9 located adjacent the rear wall 15, end wall 18 and reception area 20 includes a plurality of workstation modules W mutually separated by partition member 25. The workstation modules W are separated from the rear and end walls 15 and 18 respectively by a corridor 26 which intersects the corridor 21, thus enabling easy access to each workstation module W.

Claims (3)

1. An office building construction comprising a floor area defined by a plurality of walls, said floor area 5 including a number of offices located adjacent said walls, with the remainder of the floor area including a plurality of workstation modules to which access is provided through a corridor. 10
2. An office building construction as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the workstation modules are disposed adjacent a reception area.
3. An office building construction substantially as 15 hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
