Description

The present invention relates to an office building construction.

According to the present invention there is provided an office building construction comprising a floor area bounded on at least one side by a peripheral wall, the floor area comprising a first group of workstations disposed adjacent a peripheral wall, and a second group of workstations disposed towards the centre of the floor area and separated from said first group of workstations by a corridor which extends to circumscribe said second group of workstations.

An embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing which is a plan view of an office building construction according to the invention.

Referring now to the drawing in which there is shown an office building construction generally indicated at 10 according to the invention. The office building 10 comprises a floor area 9 located between a front wall 11 and a void space 21 disposed to the rear of the front wall 11. The floor area 9 is further bounded by offices 12 disposed to the left and an office area 13 disposed to the right of the floor area 9. - 2 The floor area 9 includes a group of workstation modules W located adjacent the front wall 11 of the floor area 9. The floor area 9 includes a further group of workstation modules W' which together with a common storage area 14 and a common access area 15 form an oblong workspace.

The oblong workspace is separated from the first group of workstation modules W by a corridor 16 which runs parallel to the front wall ll. The corridor 16 also provides access to the office area 13. The oblong workspace is separated from the offices 12 by a corridor 17 which runs at right angles to the front wall 11 and is joined at one end by the corridor 16. A pair of conference rooms 19 separate the oblong workspace from the office area 13. The conference rooms 19 are mutually separated by a corridor 18 which runs at right angles to the front wall 11 and is joined at one end by the corridor 16. Further conference rooms 20 are provided remote from the floor area 9 to the rear of the office building 10.

The corridors 17 and 18 are linked at their ends remote from the corridor 16 to the void space 21, defining a path which circumscribes the oblong workspace and provides access to the workstations W, W', the access area 14, the storage area 15 and the conference rooms 19.

Claims

1. An office building construction comprising a floor area bounded on at least one side by a peripheral wall, 5 the floor area comprising a first group of workstations disposed adjacent a peripheral wall, and a second group of workstations disposed towards the centre of the floor area and separated from said first group of workstations by a corridor which extends to circumscribe said second 10 group of workstations.
