Abstract

An office building construction (10) comprises a floor area (9) defined by front and rear and left side walls (11,12 13). The floor area includes a plurality of groups of workstations (A,B,C,D,E), said groups being separated from one another by a plurality of interconnecting corridors (17,18,19,20,21,22) which provide access between the workstations.

Description

The present invention relates to an office building construction.

According to the present invention there is provided an office building construction comprising a floor area defined by front and rear and left side walls, said floor area including a plurality of groups of workstations, said groups being separated from one another by a plurality of interconnecting corridors which provide access between the workstations.

An embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing which is a plan view of an office building construction according to the invention.

Referring now to the drawing in which there is shown an office building construction generally indicated at according to the invention. The office building 10 comprises a floor area 9 bounded by front and rear walls and 12 respectively, a left side wall 13 and an existing office area (not shown) on its right hand side.

The rear wall 12 includes a reception area 14 through which access to the floor area 9 from outside the office building 10 is provided via doors 16. A large office 15 is located adjacent the corner of the rear and left side walls 12 and 13 respectively. The remainder of the office area 9 includes groups of workstations A, B, C, D and E.

S9 3 0 7 ' The first group of workstations A is located adjacent the left side wall 13. The second group of workstations B is located towards the centre of the floor area 9 and separated from the first group of workstations A by a corridor 17 which runs parallel to the left side wall 13.

The group of workstations C are located near the rear wall 12 and separated from it by a corridor 18. The group of workstations D are located towards the centre of the floor area 9 and are separated from the workstations C by a corridor 19 which runs parallel to the rear wall 12. The workstations C and D are separated from the workstations B by a corridor 20 which runs parallel to the corridor 17 separating workstations A and B. The group of workstations E are located adjacent the front wall 11 and are separated from the workstations D by a corridor 21 which runs parallel to the corridor 19. The left hand ends of the corridors 18, 19 and 21 are connected to the corridor 20 while the respective ends of the corridors 18, 19 and 21 remote from the corridor 20 communicate with the existing office space. The corridor 20 communicates with the corridor 17 via a plurality of sub-corridors 22 which separate the respective workstations B. Thus, easy access is provided between the respective workstations A,B, C, D, and E.
