Abstract
An office comprises a floor area 11 defined by front and rear walls 12, 13 and left and right side walls 14, 15 respectively. A plurality of rooms 16 are arranged along said left side wall 14, one room 17 adjacent the front wall 12 and a plurality of rooms 18 adjacent said rear wall 13. A partition arrangement 19 is disposed generally in the central region 20 of the floor area 11 and comprises a rear member 21 generally parallel to said front and rear walls 12, 13 respectively. Description
An office partition construction
The present invention relates to an office partition construction.
According to the invention, there is provided an office partition construction comprising a floor area defined by boundary walls including front and rear walls and left and right side walls, a plurality of rooms arranged along said left side wall, at least one room arranged adjacent said front wall and a plurality of rooms adjacent said rear wall, and a partition arrangement disposed generally in the central region of the floor area and comprising a rear member generally parallel to said front and rear walls, and an elongate central member connected to said rear member and extending towards the front wall, the arrangement providing a plurality of workstations on either side of said elongate central member.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the single accompanying drawing, which is a plan view of an office partition construction according to the invention.
Referring now to the drawing there is shown therein an office partition construction generally indicated at 10 according to the invention. The office partition construction 10 comprises a floor area 11 defined by front and rear walls 12, 13 respectively and left and right side walls 14, 15 respectively. As shown, three rooms 16 are arranged along the left side wall 14, one room 17 is provided along the front wall 12, and two rooms 18 are provided adjacent the rear wall 13.
A partition arrangement 19 is disposed generally in the central region 20 of the floor area 11 and comprises a rear.member 21 generally parallel to the front and rear walls 12, 13. An elongate central member 22 is connected, in conventional manner, to the rear member 21 and extends towards the front wall 12. The partition arrangement 19 also includes a side member 23 connected to the rear member 21 and extends towards the front wall 12, and a front member 24 which extends from the side member 23 towards the central member 22.
Further members 25 are connected to the partition arrangement 19 as shown in the drawing. The various members of the partition arrangement 19 are of conventional construction for connecting together to form a plurality of workstations 26 which provide for comfortable accommodation for staff and achieve the optimum usage of space. Thus, with this arrangement a total of eight workstations to accommodate a total of eight staff are created, each workstations being indicated by the letter "W". It will be appreciated that at each of the workstations, a table top (not shown) will be connected and supported on the various members of the partition arrangement.
An additional partition arrangement 27 is provided adjacent to the right wall 15 comprising a rear member 21' and a central member 22' extending towards the front wall 12. Further members 25' are connected to the rear and central members 21', 22', to provide three further workstations W'. As shown in the drawing, partition members 30 are additionally provided and arranged to provide workstations 31 with the optimum usage of space available.
