A találmány tárgya eljárás (I) általános képletű 4-halogénalkilnikotinnitrilek előállítására, ahol RF jelentése 1-4szénatomos halogénalkil-, előnyösen trifluormetil-csoport, az eljárástúgy végzik, hogy a) egy (II) általános képletű 3-amino-1-halogénalkil-2-propén-1-ont RF-C(O)-CH=CH-NH2 (II) kondenzációsreakcióval reagáltatják (III)-(VII) általános képletű vegyületekkel,(R1Z)CH=CH-CN (III) (R1Z)2CH-CH2-CN (IV)Hal-CH=CH-CN (V) Ha12CH-CH2CN (VI) HC<C-CN (VII) ahol R1 jelentése alkil, Hal jelentése klór- vagybrómatom és Z jelentése egymástól függetlenül O, S, NR1 vagy OCOcsoport, a reakcióban (VIII), (IX) és/vagy (X) általános képletűvegyület keletkezik, RF-C(O)-CH=CH-NH-CH=CH-CN (VIII)RF-C(O)-CH=CH-NH-CH(ZR1)-CH2-CN (IX) RF-C(O)-CH=CH-NH-CH(Hal)-CH2-CN (X) ahol RF, R1, Z és Hal jelentése a fenti,majd a reakcióterméket b) gyűrűzárási reakciónak vetik alá.
