Abstract
946,204. Screw conveyers. G. L. I. FELBER, and J. SILVER. May 2, 1960 [Jan. 30, 1959 (2)], Nos. 3503/59 and 3509/59. Heading B8A. The casing 1 of a mobile screw conveyer 2 is pivotally mounted on a horizontal rod 13 projecting from a vertical sleeve 12 which is slidably mounted on a pillar 11 borne by a wheeled carriage 10. The position of the sleeve is adjusted by a chain hoist 21. Stabilizing rods 22 are pivotally connected to the casing 1 and to the carriage 10. The driving motor is supported by a bracket 14 which is carried by and projects from the opposite side of the sleeve, and comprises a pair of parallel rails 15 which support a pair of parallel tubular members 16. One of the members 16 is secured to the sleeve by a strut 17 and the other is constructed to slide upon the rails. Collars 18 slidably mounted on the member 16 and lockable in any position carry bolts to which the motor is secured. One, or more, of the collars is connected by a link 19 to an operating arm 20. The movement of the arm controls the tension of the belt 27 by which the drive is transmitted to a pulley 24 fast on the conveyer shaft 2. The belt passes round a pair of pulleys 25 inclined at an angle to each other and located substantially tangentially of the pitch circle of the pulley 24.
