Abstract

899,731. Conveying farm produce. FERREIRA, P. D. F. Sept. 12, 1958 [Sept. 21, 1957], No. 29762/57. Class 78 (1). An auxiliary endless-belt conveyer is pivoted to a main endless belt conveyer so as to swing in a horizontal plane. Thus main conveyer 1 carries a framework 2, 3 so that the horizontal auxiliary belt (not shown) carried by framework 4, 7 can pivot at 6, 8 so as to be swung horizontally either by hand or by power, and to facilitate this the drive from the main conveyer to the auxiliary conveyer passes through belt 9, pulley 10, double pulleys 12, 13, double belt 21, 22 and double pulleys 14, 15, the double belts being arranged along the pivotal axis. Drive for swinging movement (Fig. 1).-Gearbox 42 driven from main conveyer drive causes framework 4, 7 of the auxiliary belt to pivot about 5, the drive passing in sequence through crank arm 39, roller 38 sliding in slot 37 formed in arm 35 pivoted at 36, rod 28 pivoted at 34 to arm 35, and roller 27 sliding in slot 26 of bar 23 pivoted at 5. Additionally roller 38 works in slot 40 formed in the crank arm 39 and roller 27 is carried by link 30 pivoted at 31. Thus, gear-box 42 causes arm 35 to rock about 36, and framework 4, 7 to rock about 5, the arrangement being such that the latter rocking movement is caused to be regular, i.e. without " dwell " at its ends.
