Abstract

770,438. Endless conveyers. COLLIS & SONS, Ltd., J. Dec. 7, 1954 [Dec. 14, 1953], No. 34728/53. Class 78 (1). In a portable loading conveyer of the kind in which the frame carrying the endless conveying element is pivoted intermediate its ends on a carriage so that it may be adjusted to extend upwardly from left to right or right to left as viewed from the side, the driving head of the conveyer is mounted on the frame intermediate one end of the frame and the pivot of the frame, and the pivot is mounted so that its height above the ground may be adjusted. As shown, the frame 10 supporting a conveyer belt C is pivoted at 16 on a triangular framework 17 which is pivoted at 18 on a carriage 11, and is held in an inclined position by an arm 12. One end of this arm is pivoted to the carriage at 13 and the other end slides in a slot in a plate 14 and is secured in position by a locking lever 15. The pivot 16 is connected to a ram 19 whereby its height may be adjusted by operation of an hydraulic hand pump 20. The belt driving drum 31, driven by a motor 22, is slidably mounted in the driving head H by lugs 32 on rods 34 whereby the tension of the belt may be adjusted by screws 33.
