Abstract

894,775. Endless belt conveyers. HANMADE CONVEYOR CO. Ltd. Feb. 8, 1960 [Feb. 11, 1959], No. 4726/59. Class 78 (1). Material is delivered from an endless conveyer belt 8 passing over a drum 9 by a shoot arrangement comprising a plate 6 pivoted between a pair of levers 1 secured to a shaft 11, the shaft 11 also carrying a lever 2 acted on by a spring- loaded plunger 3 so as to urge the upper edge of plate 6 to a position closely adjacent the belt, this upper edge being arranged above the horizontal plane containing the axis of drum 9. Should material be trapped between the belt and the plate 6 the latter moves away from the belt causing the lower end of plunger 3 to actuate a switch 12 which operates a warning device and/or stops the drive to the belt. The upper edge of plate 6 preferably comprises a rubber strip. A fixed shoot 10 receives the material from the plate 6. An adjustable collar 7 on plunger 3 limits its upward movement to locate the upper edge of plate 6 in desired relationship with the belt. A stop 15 limits upward movement of the levers 1 should the belt be reversed.
