Abstract

1,135,741. Endless conveyers. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. 9 May, 1966 [12 May, 1965], No. 20103/65. Heading B8A. When the feed of biscuits 2 by an endless conveyer belt 14 from a conveyer 1 to a conveyer 8 via a shoot 5, rises above a predetermined rate, the slope of the biscuits in the shoot 5 increases to trip an arm 41 of a switch 42. This brings about retraction of a tensioning crank 33 of the belt 14 causing the drive of the latter to cease until the biscuits in the shoot 5 slump down to a predetermined degree. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown), the belt 14 is replaced by a belt (50) driven by an endless member (51). Closure of the switch 42 results in a gripper (55) holding the belt (50) from movement. The belt 14 comprises a series of laterally spaced tape-like belts each associated with a respective belt 2 and shoot 5.
