Abstract

1,214,754. Endless conveyers. SERVICE D'EXPLOITATION INDUSTRIELLE DES TABACS ET DES ALLUMETTES. 8 July, 1969 [10 July, 1968], No. 34285/69. Heading B8A. In apparatus for transferring matchbox drawers B from an endless chain conveyer C to a conveyer T, if the conveyer T is unable to receive the drawers, the latter, being subjected to longitudinal compression, curve upwardly and cause the conveyers to be de-energized. A trough 11 for the drawers is pivoted at 13, 14 and, at its other end, is supported by a U-shaped spring 16 which frictionally engages two jaws adjustably mounted on a frame member 17a. A rod 22 of inverted T-section has a tapered portion 19 which causes the drawers to be released from the conveyer C and deposited in the trough 11. When there is upward movement of the drawers and engagement with the rod 22, the resulting pressure causes the non-pivoted end of the trough 11 to drop and a switch 23 to de-energize the conveyers. A signal may also be emitted. The drawers in the trough having been discharged and the downstream fault cleared, the trough is returned to its normal raised position by a handle 18. Excess matches are removed by the rod portion 19 and are recovered by a suction device.
