Abstract

993,998. Endless conveyers. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GESELLSCHAFT. Aug. 2 1963 [July 5, 1963], No. 33031/63. Heading B8A. Shoots 5 are maintained in alignment with a stream of biscuits 1 being fed from an endless conveyer belt 2 if the stream on the belt 2 should shift laterally for any reason. The shoots 5 are connected at their upper ends with a carriage 4 which is mounted by means of rollers 12 on a laterally disposed rail 11. The carriage 4 carries side members 16, 16. When the stream moves laterally on the belt 2, the outermost row of biscuits on one side engage the respective side member 16. A resilient clamp 15 associated with each member 16 engages the biscuits and presses them into frictional engagement with the belt. Thus the biscuits remain in position on the belt and tend to drag the carriage 4 away from its central position. The carriage 4 is re-centralized by the action of springs 21, with which a dashpot 22 is associated. The members 16 may be rigid with the carriage 4, as shown, or may be resiliently mounted thereon. The shoots 5 feed further endless conveyers 9, 10.
