Abstract

762,494. Endless conveyers. MAVOR & COULSON, Ltd. March 17, 1955 [Oct. 28, 1963], No. 29736/53. Class 78 (1). Material being fed to an endless conveyer, e.g. a belt 10, from a supply conveyer 33 at a higher level, falls into a receiver 22 which is located above the working run 10a of the endless conveyer and is rigidly connected, e.g. by struts 24, 25, with a frame 19 located below and having means for carrying the working run, the frame being pivotally mounted at its forward end 20 to the conveyer framework 13 and supported by a spring 21 at its rear end whereby the receiver and frame rise and fall together under variations in the load received. As shown, the working run below the receiver is carried by troughed idlers 11 mounted on the pivotal spring-supported frame 19, and a roller 29 journalled in lugs attached to the receiver engages the upper surface of the belt. The rear end of the frame is located between lateral guides 27, a stop 28 limiting downward movement. A screen 26 in the receiver causes fine material to fall on to the belt in advance of the larger pieces. Fixed side members 31 form extensions of the receiver.
