Means for removing manure from a stable 1 comprises a fixed intermediate inclined conveyer 3 and a delivery conveyer 8 which can be adjusted about a vertical or horizontal axis or both. Each conveyer comprises a channel in which is reciprocated a rod 5 carrying pivoted scrapers 6 which, on the working stroke, are held by stops substantially perpendicular to the rod and on the return stroke lie against it. The channel of the conveyer 8 is carried by a support 9 which is rotatable about a horizontal pivot 10 on a jib 11. The jib is mounted on a support 12 so as to be rotatable about a vertical axis. Means is provided for locking the conveyer in adjusted position. Rods 17 fixed to the rod 5 project through a slot either in the side-wall or bottom of the channel and are connected to control ropes 19, 20. These ropes pass over horizontal pulleys 21, 22 and 22<SP>1</SP> and over a vertical pulley 23 to two pairs of coaxial pulleys 24, 25 whence they pass over guide pulleys 27, 28 or 29 to a rod 30 fixed to the driving rod 31 of the conveyer 8. The pulleys 24, 25 are disposed near the point of intersection of the pivotal axes of the channel of the conveyer 8. The channel within the stable contains similar conveying mechanism. This channel is connected by an arcuate channel 2 to the conveyer 3.
