Grain is discharged from silo 10 through central discharge outlet 14 by screw 22 which rotates about its longitudinal axis and also sweeps around central pivot 33; and the grain is discharged from outlet 14 to a discharge point 21 by the screw conveyer 16. Mounting of screw 22 (Fig. 5). Screw 22 is mounted rotatably in frame 23 that supports the driving motor 25, and the frame 23 has plates 30 and 31 fixed thereto which slide along arm 33 secured to pivot-pin 34 so that the frame 23 carrying screw 22 may move along the arm 33 to vary the distance from the pivot-pin. In this way the efficiency of the discharge of the grain by the screw may be made optimum.
