Abstract

678,869. Endless conveyers. KING, D. M. May 29, 1951. [June 1, 1950] No. 13739/50. Class 78 (i). In conveyer systems of the kind comprising trolleys of the like moved along an overhead track by an endless chain and from which depend load carriers, each carrier has an endless belt 15 or rollers to support the load and a deflector 18 for discharging it.. Each carrier may comprise an L-shaped frame 13, 14 the arm 14 of which supports the endless belt 15 or a series of rollers. The deflector 18 is mounted on a vertical pivot at one end of the carrier on the centre line of the belt 15 so as to be swingable either manually or by power over the upper run of the belt into the two positions indicated whereby to deflect articles on belt 15 laterally to one side or the other when belt 15 is driven in the direction A. The articles may be delivered longitudinally of the belt when the latter is driven in the direction B. The carrier may be steadied during discharge by a roller 16 on the frame 13 engaging a guide track 17.
