887,741. Endless-belt conveyers. MILLER, J. J. Aug. 31, 1960 [Aug. 31, 1959], No. 29629/59. Class 78 (1). In a belt conveyer for use as a cash checkout unit in a selfservice store, the return run of the belt 7 is engaged by two oppositely-inclined rollers 11 which act to centre the flat load-carrying portion 1 of the belt. The rollers 11 are disposed adjacent the driving pulley for the belt, each roller being carried by a shaft 12 mounted for vertical adjustment in the conveyer framework to vary the tension in the belt. The upper conveying run of the belt is arranged between rails 4. It is said that the rollers 11 prevent the belt from fouling these rails.
