Abstract

850,855. Endless conveyers. HORNE, R. F. (Ferro Corporation). June 18, 1958, No. 19481/58. Class 78 (1). An endless conveyer for conveying articles through corrosive liquids in a chamber 1 comprises two beams 10 disposed within the chamber and carrying bearing members 13, 6 for a series of rollers 9 and two series of tensioning pulleys 7, respectively, a pair of endless driving cables 3, 4 passed over the rollers 9, under the tensioning pulleys 7 and around a driving drum 12, and either an endless belt or, as shown, a number of endless cables 11, for conveying the articles, passing around the driving drum and engaging the rollers 9. Grooves are provided in the drum 12 and in rollers 9 for the conveying cables 11 and the driving cables 3, 4. Each tensioning pulley 7 is vertically adjustable on its bearing member 6. The driving cables 3, 4 may be replaced by toothed belts which may engage toothed portions of the rollers 9, pulleys 7 and drum 12.
