For centralizing granular material on a conveyer belt 9, a U-section trough 6 has two pairs of rollers 11 provided with rapper bars 15. The rollers are driven by the belt which, as it travels past the rollers, is struck repeatedly by the bars 15 to assist in removing any material adhering to the substantially vertical walls of the belt. Flared ends 7, 8 of the trough 6 are associated with troughing rollers (not shown) which support the remainder of the upper run of the belt.
