Abstract
189,039. Tully, W., and Wilde, O. March 1, 1922. Pneumatic elevators; worm conveyers.-Portable apparatus for transferring grain from a wagon 45 to freight-car or a granary 47 comprises a feeding device such as a worm conveyer 33, a blower 17, and a power unit 10, all mounted on a wheeled frame 1. The conveyer is mounted on the front end of the frame 1 so as to be capable of turning aside on a guide rail 42 on the frame, to allow the full wagon 45 to come into position for unloading at the rear without backing. In this turning movement of the conveyer, a slotted guide 36 on the conveyer trough moves over a fixed pin on the frame 1, and the pinion 43 on the conveyer shaft moves away from the driving position 44. The conveyer is provided with a feed-hopper 32 and delivers to a side inlet in the blower casing. The blower is driven by a belt 23, and the conveyer is driven from a countershaft 24 provided with fast and loose pulleys.
